We are looking for an experienced Media and PR Manager to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team. The successful candidate will have developed a strong news sense, either as a journalist or from working in a media engagement role within a broader communications team. They will bring to the role exceptional political judgement and a strong list of existing contacts in the UK media. They will also be able to use their media and PR skills to spot opportunities in the UK news agenda to secure high-quality media coverage that influences decision-makers in the social affairs space. The successful candidate will be equally adept at pitching in stories, and responding to enquiries from across national, regional, consumer and trade press.

The role is varied and exciting. The successful candidate will need to be a team-player, willing to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the charity and able to juggle competing priorities, often to tight deadlines. As Carers Trust’s media lead they will also need to share their ideas and expertise across our network of local carer charities. They will also be able to inspire and build great relationships with our external funders and stakeholders.

About You and the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of the organisation’s marketing work spanning advertising, social media, print, content creation, data capture and intelligence gathering, evaluation and reporting.

Working closely with the Head of Digital and Communications and the Design and Communications Officer, this role is instrumental in the delivery of marketing and communications strategies, and plays a role in nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including partners, artists and audiences.

The role will also be responsible for sharing intelligence and ideas to support colleagues across the organisation in identifying/developing new digital strategies to positively impact upon Modern Art Oxford’s reach, engagement, brand and profile.

Principal Responsibilities

• To work closely with the Head of Digital and Communications and in consultation with the wider team, to plan, develop, manage and deliver Modern Art Oxford’s marketing and communications strategies spanning advertising, print, content production and campaign-specific.
• Develop and manage Modern Art Oxford’s digital marketing work, with assistance from the Design and Communications Officer, including content production for social media, email marketing and website platforms.
• To manage ticketing for our public programme events using Eventbrite.
• To promote and communicate Modern Art Oxford’s artistic programme, spanning exhibitions, projects and learning work, to a diverse and broad range of audiences and stakeholders to support the organisation’s targets for visitor figures and online engagement and reach, whilst consistently protecting and building its brand and profile.
• To lead in promoting Modern Art Oxford’s commercial offer to a broad range of audiences, including our artist-designed café, our shop and our hires offer.
• To manage multiple programmes of work including content management, scheduling, project delivery and evaluation to ensure Modern Art Oxford’s communications work is delivered in an effective and timely manner.
• To gather and share intelligence to identify new and impactful methods to grow Modern Art Oxford’s communications activities in line with the organisation’s mission and business plan.

• Support the wider work of the Digital and Communications team by attending internal events where appropriate.

Person Specification

Essential

• A minimum of four years experience of working in a digital marketing or communications role within an arts or comparable organisation.
• Demonstrable experience of content creation and distribution across a wide range of digital platforms.
• Experience of creating printed media, including liaising with designers, printers, distributors and ad providers.
• Experience of working across multiple strands of communications work including campaigns, print, ads, social media, website management and email marketing.
• Strong knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as social media and Google Analytics and AdWords.
• Experience of working professionally on paid social media campaigns.
• Experience of design packages, such as InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva, and content editing platforms, such as Premier Pro or CapCut.
• Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills. Rigorous attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills both on the phone, in person and via email
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills. Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, complex and fast-moving environments.

We are seeking a creative and proactive Communications and Marketing Coordinator to play a pivotal role in telling Theatres Trust’s story, and the stories of the theatres we support, to a wider audience.

Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing, you will support the development and delivery of Theatres Trust’s communications strategy and contribute to embedding our brand and tone of voice across all our communications. A central part of the role will be working with our sector specialists to turn complex, detailed and technical information into compelling case studies to promote our services and highlight our impact to key stakeholders across the theatre sector and beyond.

You will be responsible for producing two of Theatres Trust’s key communications products: Theatres Magazine, our digital publication for supporters, and NewsDigest, our monthly e-newsletter, as well as helping to develop our social and digital channels. There will also be the opportunity for you to take the lead on the full communications lifecycle of specific projects such as grant programmes and events.

For someone with a passion for the power of words and a strong eye for design, this is an interesting and varied role, offering the scope to develop and enhance your skills across the full range of communications and marketing disciplines. Over the last five years we have increased the number of individuals and organisation supporting the charity from 800 to more than 3,500 a year. The charity is set to build on this success and aims to continue this growth, so that we can reach more patients and provide additional support at a time when it is more critical than ever for kidney patients.

The Corporate Partnership Manager will play a key role in this growth. Our Corporate Partnership income has grown from zero in 2020 to c£2.3 million in 2025. It is a very exciting time to be joining the charity and our Fundraising team.

Primarily, you will be responsible for building engagement and driving new income via charity of the year partnerships, corporate partnerships, and employee fundraising. You will manage the Corporate Partnership Officer who is developing a growing portfolio of supporters across different sectors. You will also work closely with the Events Manager, Trust & Foundation Manager, Head of Fundraising and Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications as well as the wider Fundraising team to promote and support all opportunities to drive corporate income growth.

Alongside the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications who takes a special interest in the charity’s Corporate Partnerships, you will be tasked with planning, implementing, and delivering the activities, programmes and processes required to grow corporate income from c£2.3m in 2025 to even greater levels over the coming years.

You will do this by stewarding the significant number of existing relationships and partnerships we already hold and maximising any opportunities that exist via our current partnerships and relationships. A key part of this role will require you to develop new opportunities and secure significant income (5-and-6 figure partnerships) through proactive engagement to and through our supporters, beneficiaries, networks, and contacts.

The right candidate will have a proven record of generating strategic partnerships that result in 5-and 6-figure corporate income, building strong and rewarding relationships, with stewardships skills that generate long term support for the charity. You will be a driven and enthusiastic fundraiser with experience of cultivating new relationships across a range of businesses and sectors.

We support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex. 

We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families – the lifesaving medical equipment, the support for parents and families, the toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell. 

Originally set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, we have been supporting children for nearly 60 years, and in that time, we have supported nearly a million children and their families. As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, we work with the NHS, charity partners and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter now sick they are. 

We do not receive any government, statutory or local authority funding and so we rely on the generous support of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts: people like you, who care about children and want Sussex to be a safe place for children to grow up. 

About the role

We are looking for someone to manage the fundraising income streams across a broad range of fundraising activities (including challenge, community, and corporates) with the guidance of the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships and in line with our organisational strategy.

You will be a driven and articulate individual looking to support the whole fundraising team. We are looking for someone who can multitask and manage a wide range of new and existing supporters. Under the direction of the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships this role will support us to engage a broad range of supporters for example you might be managing our challenge events, expanding our community fundraising offer, or supporting our amazing corporate supporters with their staff fundraising plans. Every day is different.

You will play a pivotal role in developing our supporter engagement activities to tie in with the overarching plans for the charity and help to grow the income generated. You will be a team player who can see the importance of the charity’s mission and who is keen to get stuck in. As a small charity this role is very much hands on – doing planning and delivery of fundraising activities, campaigns and projects.

Duties of the role 

Supporting the charity to secure income from across our fundraising portfolio:

Rockinghorse raises money to support children in hospitals, their families and the staff that care for them.

• To manage fundraised income (including challenge, community and corporate) with the charity’s strategic plan at the core of all activity.
• To work with the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships and the team of fundraisers to implement and develop a holistic approach to fundraising and supporters.
• To manage and advise all supporters with their events and activities in aid of Rockinghorse, to maximise income generated and increase awareness and understanding of the charity and our work.
• To proactively grow and develop new ways for supporters to fundraise for Rockinghorse and engage in our work for children across Sussex.
• To manage supporter journeys, products and mechanisms for the supporters you are assigned to manage.
• To ensure you forecast, budget and have contingency planning in place for your income pipeline across your channels.
• To understand the needs, wants and behaviours of new and existing supporters.
• To help Rockinghorse grow our reach and find ways to bring our case for support to life for supporters.
• To evolve our case for support to attract, retain and engage a loyal community of supporters.
• To work with the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships on budgeting and reporting of income generating activities.
• To maintain and develop the charity’s central database (e-Tapestry).
• To manage and develop all external platforms the charity uses for individual and challenge event fundraising.

Supporting the charity to deliver brilliant, funded projects that support children and their families:

Rockinghorse delivers and funds around 70+ projects per year – supporting sick and disabled babies, children, young people and their families in hospitals in Sussex.

• Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to match projects to partners, supporters and appeals – to ensure our projects are funded and delivered.
• Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to create case for supports for our projects that appeal to and attract a range of supporters.
• Work with Projects Manager and Head of Marketing & Communication to create and disseminate project updates and communication to ensure our supporters are informed, educated and engaged in our work.
• Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and project leads to build up a bank of case studies, quotes and stories we can use to feed back to supporters.

 Support the charity more widely:

• Represent Rockinghorse at events and networks, building strong peer relationships and sharing best practice.
• To present and speak on behalf of Rockinghorse at schools, colleges, community events and corporate events.
• Model excellent conduct and behaviours in line with the charity’s values and ethos. 
• Carry out other such duties as may be required for the purposes of the charity; this will include working during evenings and weekends as required and the postholder would be expected to work flexibly to do so.
• There are travel requirements for this post (covering the whole of Sussex) to attend, put on events and meet with our supporters.

Person specification 

Essential experience, skills and knowledge for the role: 

1. Experience and understanding of the principles of fundraising in a charity and/or not for profit.
2. Experience and understanding managing fundraising activities (especially two or more of challenge, community and corporate fundraising).
3. Able to work collaboratively and build productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and third-party agencies.
4. Able to prioritise own workload effectively and confidence to work autonomously.
5. Excellent time management skills with strong prioritisation and organisation skills.
6. Brilliant communication and interpersonal abilities – able to engage with stakeholders quickly and effectively.
7. Ability to handle confidential supporter information.
8. Experience of using customer relationship management platforms (Rockinghorse uses e-Tapestry).

As Marketing Executive - Supporter Journeys, you will be responsible for the delivery of supporter journey activity, planning and executing individual and church supporter journey activities across various channels, including direct mail, telephone, and digital.

Hybrid working: This role is eligible for hybrid working and you will be required to work from  Teddington's Tearfund office and from your home by agreement with the line manager. This currently means around 2 days per month working from the Teddington office, with the rest worked from home.
