About the Role:

This role is crucial in the long-term retention and growth of our partnership revenue streams. The role requires strong interpersonal, negotiation, and project management skills to maintain and nurture mutually beneficial strategic alliances to enhance Urban Synergy’s capacity and reach. The position also provides value to our partners and will ensure our collaborations with businesses, foundations, government agencies, and non-profit organisations are sponsored, supported, and sustainable.

We will be looking for someone who can offer more to really get themselves stuck into Urban Synergy to help grow the company and develop the role into their own.

What You'll Do:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential Corporate partners within FTSE 250.

Develop and implement a partnership strategy to enhance financial support and resources for Urban Synergy programmes.

Develop tailored partnership packages that align with the philanthropic priorities and interests of our Corporate partners.

Prepare compelling and professionally written proposals and presentations to potential corporate partners. Ensure they are aligned with the interests of potential partners.

Effectively communicate the impact and benefits of partnerships to prospective sponsors.

Lead negotiations and finalise partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with Urban Synergy's values and goals.

Work with legal and finance teams to ensure contract compliance.

Collaborate with programme managers to ensure seamless integration of corporate partnerships into Urban Synergy's initiatives.

Provide regular updates to the leadership team on partnership progress and outcomes.

Work closely with the finance team to manage and report on the financial aspects of corporate partnerships.

Ensure budgetary alignment with partnership goals and objectives.

Who we are looking for:

Proven experience in a partnership development or similar role, preferable within the non-profit sector. Minimum of 5 yrs experience in this area. 

Bachelors’ Degree in Business, management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Works collaboratively within a team and also work independently

Comes with ideas and suggestions on how to develop and nurture our partnerships.

Self-starter, who is results-oriented with a track record of achieving fundraising targets.

Is socially dynamic, successful at networking and is able to nurture and maintain positive relationships

Strategic thinking and ability to align partnerships with organisational goals.

Exceptional writing and communication skills and displays a commitment to excellence through careful attention to detail.

We work alongside people to help them escape poverty, build confidence, and find community.

Our principal activity is the prevention of food poverty and food insecurity by offering culturally appropriate food, fresh fruits, and

vegetables as well as dietary and religiously appropriate food which we have continued to run at our five-week sessions to local people for as long as they address the underlying cause.

We also provide a range of wraparound support, including advice services, particularly around employment and immigration through our Back2Work Team, Holiday Clubs for Children, Youth Groups, a Clothing Bank and our Spring Up Women’s group.

Main Purposes of Job and Key Tasks

We are seeking a highly organised and quick-witted Operations Officer to join our dynamic team at Spring Community Hub. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations or project management and excel at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensuring smooth workflows across various departments.

In addition to their primary operations duties, the Operations Officer will also play a key role in recruiting and managing volunteers, organising events, and assisting with fundraising activities. The Operations Officer will support impact, monitoring, and evaluation tasks to help demonstrate the effectiveness of our programs to funders and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate, preferably from a project delivery or impact measurement and evaluation background.

Primary duties include:

• Administrative and Office Support: Provide daily administrative support to the Operations Manager and team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, coordinating logistics, handling correspondence, and overseeing general office administration functions such as phones, mail distribution, supply orders, and facilities management.

• Project Management Support: Assist with project planning and execution, ensuring that timelines and deliverables are met. Help prepare project documentation, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders. This includes running reports via our CRM system and other tools.

• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the operations team and assist in implementing new procedures to increase efficiency and productivity. Contribute to maintaining a quality assurance schedule and support various business support functions.

• Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration. Provide timely updates on project status and operational activities, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organisation.

• Problem Solving: Address operational challenges promptly and effectively, demonstrating quick thinking and resourcefulness to resolve issues as they arise.

• Inventory and Resource Management: Assist in managing inventory and supplies, ensuring timely procurement and distribution of resources to meet departmental needs.

• Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and management of volunteers, building strong relationships and fostering a positive and inclusive volunteer culture. Recognise and appreciate the contributions of volunteers and provide them with support and training as needed.

• Event and Fundraising Management: Organise and manage events and fundraising activities, including planning, logistics, coordination, and execution. Work with the team to develop and implement strategies to achieve fundraising goals and ensure successful events that engage the community and stakeholders.

• Customer and Stakeholder Support: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and efficiency. Represent the organisation at external meetings and events with community partners, local authorities, funders, and other key stakeholders.

• General Office Administration: Support the smooth running of the office by handling routine executive support tasks, event planning, and general office administration. Assist with recruitment processes for staff and volunteers, including job postings and duties related to new hires.

• Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to Health and Safety guidelines, risk assessments, and safeguarding measures. Comply with SCH policies and procedures regarding the operation of services and policies.

• Supporting Impact, Monitoring, and Evaluation: Occasionally assist the impact, monitoring, and evaluation (IM&E) function by supporting data collection and analysis, preparing reports, and contributing to the development of data collection tools. Help with the production of reports for internal and external audiences as needed.

• There will be some out-of-hours working occasionally for Events / Development/ Training sessions according to the needs of the business - which you will be able to arrange time off in lieu with your Line Manager.

• The post holder will be required to be flexible to the changing needs of the organisation and as such undertake tasks and responsibilities not specifically listed here but relevant to the smooth running of SCH, including general office and administrative tasks and aspects of service delivery, as directed by the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

This new Fundraising Lead role is central to our strategy - designed to secure sustainable income through community engagement, partnerships, and bold, values-aligned funding. Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & income generation 

· Trusts & grants: Research, write, and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

· Corporate & individual giving: Work alongside Service Delivery Manager and Deputy Service Manager to develop relationships with corporate sponsors and individual donors, creating engagement opportunities.

· Donor stewardship: Manage and nurture relationships with funders, ensuring timely reporting and impact updates.

· Donor stewardship: Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

· Fundraising strategy: Support the development and implementation of WSUP’s fundraising strategy, identifying new opportunities for income growth.

Person Specification

Essential skills & experience

· Fundraising knowledge: Understanding of trust, foundation, and corporate fundraising, with proven experience of writing successful grant applications.

· Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.

· Relationship management: Ability to build relationships with funders, donors, and stakeholders at various levels.

Fundraising and Events Officer - Norfolk & Suffolk

37 Hours per week

Salary £24,332 pro rata

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual, with excellent communication and project management skills, and experience of arranging, executing and evaluating successful fundraising events, to meet the fundraising targets, set by our Board and thereby support the vital services we deliver to people affected by domestic abuse across Norfolk and Suffolk.

A few practical things:

• This role is hybrid, involving a mixture of working from home and from our Central London office.
• There will be some limited additional requirements to travel for meetings and occasional expectations to work outside of office hours, such as our annual in person Staff Conference and quarterly evening ‘get togethers’ online with volunteers.
• This role is the equivalent of 3 days per week, however we are flexible to accommodate the regular working hours that work for you, between 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
• Giving our volunteers the best possible experience involves really understanding what they do- so you will be actively encouraged to get stuck in and ‘volunteer’ yourself within our programmes and alongside our volunteers.

The Meetings and Events Manager would lead on the delivery of the RSTMH meeting and events strategy. The role requires a self-starter who is excited by the prospect of working on such a broad range of meetings and events. They should be comfortable liaising with venues for meetings space, developing budgets for events, managing logistical aspects of the events programme and setting up new events online and in person.

Funded by the Department for Education, the National Peer Support Service for England is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. Every day, the TSA’s small support and information team make a real difference to people affected by the rare genetic condition Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and their loved ones. In this vital role, you will help to maintain our high support standards at the TSA, including through operating on the TSA Support Line, developing content for a wide range of platforms and needs, and occasionally attending virtual and in-person TSA events.

You'll be part of a flexible, passionate, welcoming and wholly home-based team, who know they improve the world every single day. The role includes (pro-rata) 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and the working days that fall between Christmas Day and New Year.

On the TSA Support Line, you will provide support and information regarding TSC via telephone, email and webchat. You will offer an informed, non-judgemental and empathetic listening ear to individuals and families at every step of their journey. • You will ensure that internal processes for recording TSA Support Line enquiries, and signposting information on the support line, are maintained to a high standard and kept up to date.

1.2 You will play a key role in the TSA’s safeguarding as part of your work on the TSA Support Line and in supporting other members of staff with any questions that they have.

1.3 You will ensure confidentiality in the provision of the TSA Support Line, managing conversations and relationships tactfully and diplomatically with members of our small community who may also interact regularly with the charity at face-to-face and virtual events and through our social media channels. 

1.4 You will work closely with colleagues from across the TSA to ensure that our support and information services are joined-up with and informed by other services offered by the TSA more broadly across our website, social media channels, Scan and face-to-face and virtual events.

1.5 You will help to ensure that the TSA Support Line demonstrates best practice in the provision of support and information. You will work with the Joint Chief Executive and Support and Information Manager to develop proposals to develop and market the service that are joined-up with the support provided across our website, social media channels, Scan and face-to-face and virtual events.

2 Support, information and signposting

2.1 Ensure that high quality, up-to-date and evidence-based information is available to individuals and families living with TSC, and the professionals that support them. Regularly review, draft and develop new materials to support people affected by the condition.

2.2 Work with the Joint Chief Executive and Support and Information Manager to develop appropriate and consistent information to signpost TSA Support Line service users to external partner organisations that can provide specialist support for specific aspects of TSC (such as autism or mental health issues) and living with TSC (such as finding a job or facing bereavement).

2.3 Initiate and maintain regular contact with NHS TSC clinics across the UK to encourage greater communication and support between the TSA and TSC clinics. This could include encouraging clinics to join the NHS TSC Rare Disease Collaborative Network (RDCN), liaising with TSA Medical Advisers about medical support line enquiries, or working with clinics to better understand how the TSA can best help them.

2.4 Work closely with the rest of the TSA including communications, research and fundraising, to demonstrate current knowledge of the work of the organisation and developments in TSC.

2.5 Keep up to date with external events and news and draft relevant content for social media, physical media, e-news and the community magazine, Scan, to support and inform the TSC community.

2 TSA events

2.1 Attend TSA face-to-face and virtual events each year to market the TSA Support Line to people living with TSC, their families and professionals (up to approximately seven face-to-face events per year). General events assistance for the event on the day of face-to-face events will also be expected (for example, this could include time on the reception desk or directing attendees between sessions). Face-to-face events could include Outlook (for adults living with TSC), Big Day (our annual meeting for everyone in the TSC community), Family Fun Days (for younger families), TSA Togethers (regional events) and events for NHS TSC clinicians. Time off in lieu will be given for evening and weekend events, or events outside of your usual working days.

2.2 Help to generate ideas for sessions at TSA events by identifying any trends in information and support needs through the TSA Support Line.

4 Supporting health, social care and education professionals

4.1 Develop and maintain training and education materials to help health, social care and education professionals to better understand the impact of TSC.

4.2 Act as a point of contact for professionals who contact the TSA, working with colleagues to build credibility and strong working relationships with them.

Other requirements of the post

The post holder must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation. This will entail occasional evening and weekend work. Regular travel within the UK will be needed for team meetings, TSA events and training provision. This would normally require access to a car (mileage will be paid) or travel by public transport (tickets will be paid).

The post holder will be expected to have adequate homeworking facilities to allow them to fulfil the role to the best of their abilities.

A DBS disclosure will be required prior to taking up post.

Training on helplines from the Helplines Partnership and on the Virtual Call Centre and database, Beacon, by the in-house team can be provided.
