Summary
We have a brand new opportunity for a Marketing Specialist Apprentice to support the Central Quadrant of Harris secondary academies, helping to identify, attract and engage our communities.
Working with the Assistant Director and Principals from the Quadrant, you will have the opportunity to support with our Academy marketing strategies, including social media channels, newsletters, events and create graphic designs, images and videos for both organic and paid campaigns. You will also work with the Federation Talent Attraction Partner.
This is an apprentice role with a fixed-term duration of 18 months. Your learning will be supported by the completion of the Multi-Channel Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
The Central Quadrant academies are based in Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Croydon and Bromley and the successful candidate will be part of the academy team. We can be flexible on your base academy within the Central Quadrant.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, primarily focussing on student and staff recruitment and improving brand awareness
- Designing and generating mixed media content for use on academy websites and relevant social media to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
- Managing day-to-day social media posting and platforms
- Helping to develop compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audiences
- Ensuring brand consistency across all communications and external media
- Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing press releases and academy newsletters
- Monitoring and adjusting campaigns to meet budget and performance objectives
- Using data analysis tools to record, interpret, and analyse campaign performance, and creating and delivering actionable reports driven by these insights
- Conducting ongoing research into audiences, preferences and trends
- Researching and generating ideas to maximise audience engagement
- Performing keyword research to identify trends and develop content which improves SEO, discoverability, and engagement
- Using industry standard packages to edit content
- Photographing and videoing events and activities at the Academy and cataloguing and maintaining the Academy digital photo library

The role
We’re looking for a high performing, creative and driven Digital Manager to work in our communications and marketing department on a temporary basis, to drive all areas of Family Fund’s digital work. You’ll develop digital strategies and campaigns that improve conversion with our key audiences, raise vital income and boost brand profile. You’ll also provide expert advice on the evolution of our digital channels and communications, to ensure we keep pace with fast-changing digital developments.
The person we’re looking for
To be considered for this role you’ll need to evidence significant experience managing and improving the performance of digital channels (including social media, e-marketing and websites) using analytics to inform decision-making. You should have specialist knowledge of digital across a range of techniques and have experience in managing paid-for digital advertising budgets and campaigns. With experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) and of platform analytics tools including Google Analytics, Facebook and X, you should have a sound understanding of an integrated approach to digital marketing and knowledge of data protection best practice and legislation.
A confident communicator with strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a wider team. Organised and hard-working, you’ll be a pro-active self-starter that can hit the ground running and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve growth objectives for our national charity brand.

What the job involves
This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support High Value, Philanthropy and Partnerships teams. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of high value fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.
Supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand and our senior Business Partner in embedding and developing our business partnering model. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of High Value Fundraising activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.
You’ll work closely with our Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Appeal teams to help plan and deliver inspiring communications that support our fundraising strategy. From pitching proposals and event promotion to major appeal campaigns, you’ll help build strong relationships with major donors and partners. You’ll also make sure high value fundraising activity is joined up with our wider communications and campaigns to grow fundraising revenue, support our community and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer.
Please note this role is known internally as Communications Business Partner (High Value Fundraising).

Job Purpose

Role summary
To support the Head of Fundraising and Communications in the delivery of the communications and fundraising strategy at ReMind UK through planning, production and delivery of on and offline marketing communications. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, private memory assessments and allied activities also provide support to people affected. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development looking to Increase our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research Institutions, both nationally and internationally and with the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The role
As Marketing Officer, you will play an important role in helping ReMind UK to realise its vision by overseeing marketing for ReMind UK. You will line manage a Content Executive and together you will design, produce and disseminate materials and communications to raise the profile of the organisation and its work, and in turn raise funding to enable ReMind UK to continue its vital research and support for people affected by dementia.
You will plan and deliver an annual calendar of social posts and adverts, emails, marketing and PR activities including digital and print through organic and paid for media, and working with local organisations and groups. Working closely with ReMind UK's Content Officer you will coordinate website updates and content additions.
Key responsibilities
· Line management of ReMind UK's Content Executive to create an annual plan for coordinated marketing campaigns across channels.

· Measure and report analytics as required by Head of Fundraising & Communications including email and social media engagement rates, website use and content management indicators, exposure to marketing ads placed and awareness created through partnerships with local social prescribers and partner organisations.
· With the Content Executive maintain ReMind UK's website ensuring content is consistently refreshed, added to and tested to ensure optimisation and coherent journeys and user experience for each of our audiences.
· Design marketing materials and internal publications as requested by the ReMind UK staff team.
· Act as brand guardian in the production and use of materials, documents and marketing across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
GENERAL MARKETING
To work closely with the Head of Marketing and Head of Trading and relevant teams to:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of their commercial marketing plans, aligning with their wider marketing activities and brand guidelines
- Define and segment target audiences – both business and customers – and reach them through the most effective marketing channels
- Work proactively with their artistic team to identify opportunities for commercial activities that add value to customer experience, flagging these for consideration by the commercial teams and devising/delivering related B2C campaigns to drive return on investment (ROI)
- Develop their commercial Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and leverage customer behaviour insights to drive loyalty, repeat visits, and meaningful engagement.
- Analysing CRM data, particularly in relation to booking behaviours, to capitalise on opportunities to support client loyalty, retention and repeat bookings (including memberships)
- Develop high quality digital/offline assets to support the full client/booking journey
- Monitor key metrics – socials engagement, footfall, new leads, repeat bookings and conversion - and adapt strategies to maximise impact.
- To work with external suppliers e.g. printers, mailing houses, designers and advertisers to secure and fulfil high quality opportunities at competitive rates (small-scale design work may be required)
- To assist in the smooth running of the department, adhering to agreed financial and administrative systems and budgets.
PROMOTING THEIR VENUE HIRE OFFER
- Champion them as a premium venue for conferences, meetings and creative event hires.
- Create compelling content for B2B promotion of their venue hire offer, prioritising meetings and conferencing. These may include activities such as
- Developing regular targeted B2B marketing campaigns via email marketing, LinkedIn content, case studies and print in close liaison with the commercial hires team and measuring effectiveness through ROI and related analytics
- Keeping their venue hire web content fresh, engaging and up to date, including putting hire events live and keeping food menus and venue hire packages up to date.
- Maintain their presence across relevant venue hire listings, directories and event platforms
CATERING AND RETAIL
- Devise and deliver comprehensive and compelling on-site and digital marketing campaigns to support targeted B2C promotion of their catering and retail offer, driving engagement and sales to support key operational periods (such as school holidays) and measuring effectiveness through ROI and related analytics. These activities may include
- Sourcing and producing high quality signage/point of sale display, seasonal menu designs, promotional print, direct mail in line with their brand guidelines
- Tailoring marketing assets to enhance customer experience of their catering and retail offer, recognising the different motivations of each customer segment
- Ensure the Food & Drink and Retail sections of their website are always looking their best and showcasing what’s new in an appealing way.
- Engaging with local influencers, community groups and potential promotional partners to enhance reach and credibility
Person Specification
Essential
- A creative, organised and data-savvy marketer with experience running integrated campaigns
- Understanding of both B2B and B2C marketing landscapes and can pivot between them with ease.
- Experience of B2B marketing, particularly in promoting services to corporate or professional audiences
- Experience of developing and delivering B2C marketing campaigns, ideally within hospitality, retail, or cultural sectors
- Knowledge and experience of CRM systems
- Knowledge and experience of design packages, ideally Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
- Knowledge and experience of Google Analytics and social media analytics
- Knowledge and experience of search engine and website optimisation techniques
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, who thrives on cross-functional working and clear communication.
- Passionate about arts, culture, and community – and excited by the idea of contributing to a charitable cause through commercial success.
Desirable
- Strong up-to-date knowledge of cultural and hospitality sectors in Birmingham and the region, including key influencers, drivers, challenges, opportunities
- Good knowledge of LinkedIn
- Knowledge and experience of bulk email software
