About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

• Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan. 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

• Work with the Development team to develop proposals for the community and peer support which are ready for fundraising and business development.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in scaling a national service or programme with high quality outputs. This includes overseeing delivery, strategic planning, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

• Experience of effective budget management.

• Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

• Proven experience of Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multi-channel, multi-discipline environment to deliver significant returns and supporter satisfaction, especially through supporter retention & development programmes

Summary of Role:

Join Muslim Aid as the Director of Operations to steer our strategic alignment and operational excellence across global initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with senior directors, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our International Programmes, Income Generation and Marketing departments. This position is based in London and is a vital part of our mission to deliver impactful, efficient, and accountable operations worldwide.

About the Role:

1. Work alongside the CEO and senior leadership to craft and execute strategic plans, ensuring it aligns with our broader goals.
2. Prepare and present comprehensive operational reports at board meetings and committee meetings throughout the year, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
3. Oversee the management of the Head of International Programmes and Head of Income Generation and Marketing, ensuring strategies and operations align with overall goals of Muslim Aid. 
4. Oversee the operational budget, guaranteeing resources are distributed with efficiency and effectiveness to uphold strategic priorities.
5. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirements, maintaining high standards of accountability.
6. Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness across all programmatic and departmental activities, implementing good practices and seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.

About You:

1. Proven experience in a leadership role within the non-profit sector, preferably in an international context.
2. Experience in overseeing programmatic and income generation activities, demonstrating the ability to integrate these functions effectively.
3. Proven experience in successfully raising funds from diverse income streams such as grants, donations, sponsorships, events, and partnerships.
4. Experience in managing diverse teams and complex projects across multiple countries and contexts.
5. Proven experience in change management and driving organisational development initiatives.
6. Proven financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

• Leading the team in planning and delivering new business activity, drawing on business need, our organisation strategy, sector trends, meeting agreed annual income targets. 
• Ensuring account management of all corporate partnerships is delivered with skill and diligence. Leading the team in maximising the impact of partnerships through outstanding relationship management.
• Embedding corporate partnerships in the strategic development of the organization, promoting and advocating for current and prospective partners in strategic discussions at Family Action. Integrating and aligning corporate partnerships activity with wider organisational priorities.
• Proactive and supportive line management of the corporate partnerships team, which currently comprises 3 x Corporate Partnerships Managers, 1 x Fundraising Officer and the Toy Appeal Temporary Assistant (Christmas)

1. A proven fundraising leader with an in-depth understanding of and experience of working on a wide variety of corporate partnerships
2. Demonstrable experience of successful new business work, securing 6 and/or 7 figure opportunities.
3. Extensive account management experience, ideally across a range of sectors
4. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently both formally and informally to a range of audiences as well as strong writing skills.

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a national charity to recruit for a Senior Events Executive in order to project manage, deliver, and coordinate all aspects of the charity flagship event, as well as all affiliated events.

As a Senior Events Executive you:

• Will work with the Committee and the Co-Chairman to deliver agreed net income, participation and profile-raising targets.
• Will deliver key supporting and stewardship events; including the launch and thank you party, the commemorative garden launch and committee events.
• Will develop and deliver, creative and effective marketing plans for the event,
• Will support the wider events programme as appropriate.

In order to be successful, you must have experienced:

• Excellent administrative abilities and experience of managing competing priorities.
• Event experience as part of a fundraising team.
• Setting income targets and meeting or exceeding them from events.
• Working with a committee or group of supporters to inspire them towards a shared goal.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Recruiting and managing volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and work effectively with all elements of the Charity and supporters.
• A self-starter, proactive, collegiate, with drive and commitment.
• Highly computer literate and a competent user of charity fundraising databases; able to generate reports for analysis (Microsoft office, Raisers Edge, Monday.com).
• Strong empathy with the cause of the Charity and its beneficiaries.
• Whilst London based, this appointment involves travel around the UK, and occasionally overseas.
