Approaching 50 years of helping greyhounds in their transition from racing, matching them to homes where they will thrive in their retirement, the Greyhound Trust is embracing the rapid changes both in the greyhound racing industry and in wider society. The Trust has an annual income of c.£4.5m which enables us to find loving homes for around half of the 8,000 greyhounds that retire from racing every year.
The Role
Planning and delivery of the Greyhound Trust’s fundraising from individuals to support delivery of our organisational strategy.
This is a new role within our new and growing income generation and engagement team. Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, the Greyhound Trust looks to you to review and develop current Individual Giving income streams, identify and implement new opportunities and deliver a sustainable growth plan suited to the Greyhound Trust brand, stakeholders, resources and strategic aspirations. We need to build a strong financial foundation that will allow us to care for and home even more greyhounds both today and in the future, engaging new supporters and motivating existing ones to continue their support.
What you will do
- Under the direction of the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, create, deliver and evaluate a long-term Individual Giving strategy.
- Build a diverse and sustainable individual giving portfolio suited to the Greyhound Trust brand, stakeholders, resources and growth aspirations.
- Plan and deliver engaging multi-channel fundraising campaigns, appeals and/or product promotions
- Use data and insight to drive performance, monitor results, and build cases for support.
- Develop and deliver supporter journeys to encourage loyalty and growth across all income stream.
- Integrate individual giving with wider brand, marketing, communications and retail initiatives.
- Provide support to branches in ad hoc individual giving activities.
- Work collaboratively with the PR / Engagement Manager to maximise impact of integrated campaigns both nationally and with branches.

About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in supporting our fundraising team and helping to deliver high-quality events – from webinars and conferences to challenge events like the London Marathon.

- Assist with ambassador and corporate supporter communications
- Help manage pledge and bursary admin

Marketing & Promotion
- Work with our Comms team to promote events and fundraising initiatives
- Help prepare campaign materials and monitor engagement
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering events (paid or voluntary)
- Proven experience managing relationships (e.g. supporters, ambassadors, donors)
- Confident writing stewardship emails and supporter comms
- Highly organised with great attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital platforms (e.g. Zoom)
- Willingness to travel occasionally and support events outside regular hours
- A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
Desirable:
- Knowledge of dyslexia and/or neurodiversity
- Experience in the charity sector or fundraising
- Familiarity with Access CRM, MailChimp, or website CMS

About the role

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
