Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Strategy & Planning
   • Develop, implement, and refine a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with IAC UK’s mission and objectives.

   • Prepare and manage the fundraising budget, monitoring income targets and expenditure.

Job description - Partnerships and Income Manager

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Annual leave: 27 days FTE per annum plus Bank holidays (22 days FTE per annum under the Four Day Week) 

Please note that at Waterwise we work a Four Day Week, under voluntary agreements which all staff members sign. This means that you will be contracted and paid as full-time but you will sign a voluntary agreement stating that you commit to employing efficiency tools both individual and team-wide to deliver and be paid for 5 days work within four normal 9 to 5 days - the office is closed on Fridays. Partnerships and Income Manager Role Description

The Partnerships and Income Manager role involves engaging a range of stakeholders to help generate greater impact and income for Waterwise. The Partnerships and Income Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying potential new business opportunities; conducting outreach to new and existing stakeholders to encourage collaboration; building and maintaining relationships with Waterwise partners, sponsors and members; and assisting with developing winning proposals for funding, in order to deepen the impact we make with individuals, communities and businesses across the UK. Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.

Our income has substantially  increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.

Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.

Our current finance manager has been pivotal to Brent Mencap’s recent growth, adapting to paying more people, dealing with complicated invoices, making sure we get paid promptly, being as diligent about a project budget worth 5k as our overall budget and supportive with staff  wage queries. While there is lots of data input, reconciling, processing purchase orders, the role involves real involvement in project development, monitoring with other managers and face-to-face involvement with users and staff. It’s never boring and definitely not for the faint hearted!!

As Finance Manager for Brent Mencap, you will have a key leadership position. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our finances, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements while ensuring our services are sustainable through sound financial planning. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Trustee Board to provide accurate insights and projections that support long-term growth and resilience.

The Purpose of the Role

The Officer, Private Fundraising Communications is responsible for developing content that inspires private sector funding towards the IRC’s innovative and impactful programs in 40+ countries. This person will collaborate extensively with program teams and External Relations to create communications that engage prospective donors, demonstrate their unique philanthropic impact, and inspire ongoing support through tailored content across Trust & Foundations, Global High Net Worth Individuals, Global New Business, and Corporations.

Business Development Writing (40%):

● Responsible for producing persuasive and well-structured proposals for 6+ figure grants, positioning IRC as a best-in-class humanitarian and development organization. (They will support a portfolio with a special focus on Trust & Foundations, with projects for Corporate, HNWI, etc. as assigned.)

● Conduct programmatic research, collaborate with various teams (fundraising, program, etc.), and articulate the organization's goals, strategies, and impact to secure funding for humanitarian and development projects.

● Transform technical, programmatic content into sophisticated, compelling, donor-friendly materials. These materials will showcase the impact and sustainability of our programs while communicating our shared values with private sector partners.

Impact Reporting (40%):

● Create comprehensive and compelling reports and other written materials that highlight innovation, evidence, and outcomes the IRC delivers for our clients in some of the world’s toughest places, while building trust and transparency with private sector donors.

● Use data, human-interest stories, and other storytelling to create compelling, effective reports. These reports will fulfill donor-set requirements and communicate what sets our program approaches, evidence generation, advocacy, and expertise apart.

● Present program results clearly, workshopping reports with technical experts across the IRC.

Project Management (20%):

● Serve as a primary focal point for account managers to navigate communications resources and grant writing services.

● Lead the end-to-end process of proposal development across a diverse portfolio of grants - including curating content, workshopping information with program and communications colleagues, and building editorial timelines to finalize written assets across IRC teams.

Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity and company and specialist integrative counselling and psychotherapy training provider based in Queens Park, London. We are a leading training provider in the sector and currently have around 400 students attending training courses ranging from open access introductory courses to post-graduate degrees.

Thousands of therapists have trained at the Minster Centre since our inception in 1978 and we have an extensive community. Our courses are accredited by the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), and some are validated by Middlesex University. We are also registered with the Office for Students.

The Minster Centre Psychotherapy & Counselling Service (MCPCS) also provides a safe, affordable and professional counselling service to people over the age of 18 who are experiencing a range of difficulties. The service is provided by senior trainees who are in the process of completing their therapy training.

Job summary

The Registry Manager supports all aspects of training and course administration from first enquiry to graduation. This includes introductory courses, professional counselling and psychotherapy qualifications, and MA programmes validated by Middlesex University.  Reporting to the responsible Management Committee Lead, the Registry Manager ensures that we deliver efficient and effective services to support admissions, enrolment, university registration, assessment, progression, HESA data returns, awards, and graduation of our students.

The Registry Manager has line management responsibility for the course administrator, leads on course scheduling, managing student data, organising the Bursaries and Hardship Fund (the Minster Centre Fund), supports key committees, monitors academic progress, and ensures accurate information is presented at Assessment Boards. They will balance day-to-day student matters with supporting the team and working to improve administrative systems.

This is a varied role which is critical for the delivery of The Minster Centre’s strategic objectives and charitable aims. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and will have significant relevant experience of administration, ideally within the Higher Education or professional training sectors. A self-motivated person with proven management, communication and interpersonal skills. They will be adaptable, able to work as part of a team, and prioritise a challenging workload.

Main areas of responsibility

The Registry Manager will be responsible for:

Training and course administration

The role enables the candidate to work closely with a range of audiences, stakeholders and different charities, sport and non-sport, to help and support them to collect good data and better measure the impact of their community work. 

Remote working from home; The expectation would be that the successful candidate would spend 2 days per week at the House of Sport with Upshot and the remainder working remotely. At times depending on business needs there may be a requirement for more days to be worked in the office. This role also includes periodic travel to client locations to build relationships and deliver training. 

The successful candidate will be managing high-level and detailed relationships with clients and this role will see the successful candidate as a primary point of contact for both new and existing clients of which they are responsible for. 

Beyond their core responsibilities, the Account and Support Manager will also have the opportunity to develop the business more broadly, through identifying potential business development opportunities, partaking in ongoing marketing exercises, discussions around the development of the system and engaging with our wider Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Services. 

The role is varied, providing the unique opportunity to learn the many different skills needed to run a tech start up, under the umbrella of a social enterprise. They will help develop Upshot’s online help guides/resources, deliver online and face to-face training, host workshops and assist with improving efficiency within the team. 

Account and Support 

Client Onboarding and Training: 

1. Manage the implementation of Upshot for new clients, including analysing clients’ needs and adapting the system to meet    their requirements. 

2. Deliver training to groups of new and existing Upshot users in-person and online. 

Support: 

3. Provide a high-quality customer experience, supporting on designing and producing support materials, such as online           tutorials, guides and documents. 

4. Provide high-quality user support, resolving complex queries and ensuring high client satisfaction. 

5. Proactively troubleshooting and offering tailored solutions to clients’ needs online, by telephone or in person. 

Renewals: 

6. Conduct regular check-ins with clients during the license period to ensure they are satisfied and utilising the product fully. 7. Manage the renewal process, ensuring clients renew their contracts annually and identifying opportunities for upselling or  upgrades. 

General Account Management: 

8. Build relationships with and take full ownership of allocated & identified new and existing clients. 

9. Monitor client accounts to ensure they are active and engaged, taking proactive steps to address any potential issues. 

Collaboration and Coordination: 

10. Work closely with the Head of Account Management and the wider Account Management team to maintain excellent relationships with all clients. 

11. Work with internal teams, such as Product, to highlight client issues and improve the overall client experience.

12. Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate and complete information is captured in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Finance systems. 

13. Provide support to the Upshot team for client-related tasks. 

14. Lead or support on projects to improve internal processes and implement them successfully within the wider team.

Additional Responsibilities 

Business Development and Marketing 

15. Take a proactive role in identifying and securing new business opportunities to expand our client base. This could include upselling services to existing clients, generating referrals and identifying new clients. 

16. Support the Upshot team in the delivery of marketing material, organising events and campaigns to maximise sales opportunities. 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Services 

17. Support on the creation of sophisticated external reporting mechanisms, enabling clients to visualise and communicate their impact effectively.

18. Advise clients on best practices in data collection and impact measurement, and support internal efforts to continually enhance client’s MEL needs.

19. Support on the delivery of MEL workshops both in-person and online 

Software development:

20. Support the Upshot Product team to carry out user testing and make recommendations for enhancements to the system’s features and functionality. 

21. Advise the Upshot team regarding improvements to the system to assist with sales and existing customer satisfaction

Other:

22. Provide support to the rest of the Upshot team where needed. 

23. Undertake duties as can be reasonably expected to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the Upshot team. 

24. Always carry out duties and responsibilities in compliance with Upshot policies. 

Person Specification

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following characteristics. However, it is not essential to possess all. 

Knowledge of: 

1. Web-based software applications and data management. 

2. The not-for-profit sector, including Local authorities, Housing Associations, Universities and Colleges. 

3. Sports development and/or sport for development including National Governing Bodies, County sports partnerships and sport clubs. 

4. MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning) impact measurement, data collection. 

5. Microsoft products, particularly Excel to an advanced level. 

Experience of: 

6.  Account management and customer service in a tech, SaaS or charity environment. 

7. Leading on external projects with a wide range of stakeholders from planning to execution 

8. Delivering group training to a range of audiences – in person and online. 

9. Providing client and user support, especially on digital tools. 

10. Handling, analysing and visualising data to produce actional insights. 

11. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners. 

12. Communicating clearly and succinctly to a range of audiences through various channels. 

13. Managing workload independently to balance the competing pressures of customer service, implementation and training.
