Ategi is a friendly not-for-profit organisation providing support services across Wales and England. It offers three main services for adults with additional needs: Shared Lives, Supported Living, and Community Support. Working alongside people to build independence, connection and meaningful lives.
As the Interim Engagement, Marketing and Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible to ensure Ategi’s impact is clearly evidenced and communicated whilst supporting with it’s Strategic Marketing, Communications and Engagement objectives and providing assistance with all communication related to resources, including fundraising and tender applications.
This role leads the organisation’s communications, engagement, and brand strategy, delivering impactful campaigns that raise awareness, enhance reputation, and support fundraising objectives.
We are looking for a highly motivated self starter who can generate ideas and take ownership, creating engaging and effective communications. Additionally, the role involves proactive involvement in fundraising, tenders and income generation, with responsibility for monitoring performance against targets and managing budgets.

The role

The Digital Marketing Manager is accountable for the delivery and performance of our website, email, SEO, PPC, paid-social and CRM marketing, ensuring all our digital channels are optimised for both awareness and income generation.
This is a hands-on role which will see you deliver key activity as well as lead a small team in prioritising and evaluating work across digital channels, using data and insight to inform decisions. To spearhead and champion our digital marketing transformation, you’ll need to be a results driven and experienced professional, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your skills and passion will see you:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with our income growth objectives.
• Deliver and continually improve how we connect with our audiences, primarily through (but not limited to) strategic use of email, website management, SEO, PPC, paid social and CRM marketing.
• Identify opportunities to maximise online brand awareness, engagement and revenue generation.
• Track, analyse and report on digital performance metrics, owning KPIs for traffic, conversion, income and engagement, as well as providing actionable insights and data to improve and inform digital marketing effectiveness.
• Own website performance by managing content within the CMS, improving user journeys, implementing SEO best practices and using data and analytics to increase visibility, traffic and conversion rates.
• Plan, execute and optimise our paid advertising accounts, including Google Ads and paid social platforms (e.g. Meta), using A/B testing to ensure they are data-driven, cost efficient and deliver ROI and income.
• Lead and deliver email and CRM activity (including building campaigns, managing audiences, segmentation and automation), ensuring data, templates and journeys are optimised for engagement and conversion, using performance and insights to drive improvements.
• Embed a culture of data-driven decision making and bring visibility and transparency to digital marketing activity by regularly reporting impact against objectives, trend spotting as well as using a variety of data and analytics tools to raise the profile and understanding of digital marketing across the charity.
• Work closely with the Data team to ensure digital and data strategies align and data between digital channels is automated, accurate and can be reported on effectively.
• Safeguard the integrity of the charity’s digital presence ensuring it complies with data protection regulations and any other applicable legislation.

Role Purpose
To lead Trussell’s email and marketing CRM strategy and digital projects by creating insight‑led, compliant, and engaging digital communications and journeys that bring our story to life and drive programme outcomes.
This role is part of the Together with Trussell programme, the goal of which is to build stronger connections with our supporters, partners and donors to increase funding, campaigning, and other forms of support for our work. As a member of an enabling programme, this role is focused on the successful delivery of the Together with Trussell programme outcomes, which underpin and enable the outcomes of our 5 external programmes – together contributing to the fulfilment of our long-term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.
Key Responsibilities
Email and CRM marketing
· Lead the design, content development and delivery of Trussell's email programme and related projects, optimising workflows, journeys and alignment with our audience strategy to deliver organisational goals.
Product leadership
· Overall product leadership of our customer marketing platform, Marketing Cloud, ensuring data models and digital ecosystem are optimised and compliant with data privacy laws and industry standards, protecting supporter data from cyber threats.
Analysis and insight and performance
· Implement digital tracking, attribution and measurement in line with established UTM governance and tagging standards to enable accurate tracking and optimisation. Lead the supporter data function, ensuring accuracy and compliance of supporter data, working with business system teams to ensure reporting enables actionable decision making.
Consultancy and stakeholder management
· Act as an expert inhouse consultant for programme teams providing advice and guidance to embed best practice, accessibility and innovation in digital communications, driving continuous improvement.
Digital marketing project management
· Lead digital marketing projects that deliver continuous improvement and compliance driving improved engagement with our audiences and programme outcomes.
Person Specification
Core Knowledge
· Deep understanding of CRM, CDP and marketing automation platforms. Experience of Salesforce and Marketing Cloud would be an advantage.
· Management of multiple audience-focused email marketing programmes with complex segmentations and competing priorities
· Excellent understanding of email copy and content best practice
· Excellent understanding of accessibility and legal regulations for email marketing, including the Data Protection Act and UK GDPR and accessibility best practice
· Strong understanding of digital measurement, including tracking, attribution and analytics methodologies and summarising insights to inform decision making.
