This is an exciting opportunity to lead our social media team and help strategically shape the role of paid and organic social across Family Action’s channels, including those under the Relate brand. You will manage a team of two Social Media Executives and drive brand awareness, income generation and service marketing whilst also providing strategic insight around wider external engagement activity.
Main Responsibilities (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Lead on the development and delivery of paid and organic social media activity across both Family Action and Relate brands.
• Refine Family Action’s social media strategy in line with key brand, income generation and service marketing objectives
• Work with the Head of Digital Marketing and Senior Social Media Executive to develop a paid social and sales strategy to drive purchases of services and toolkits from Relate
• Lead on the development and delivery of sophisticated Meta and LinkedIn ad campaigns at each stage of the donation/purchase funnel ie. awareness, interest, conversion
• Line manage a team of two Social Media Executives responsible for the day to day management of both Relate and Family Action channels, and supporting local services and retail shops with their use of social media.

• Extensive experience of strategically managing and developing social media channels for a large organisation/group/brand.
• Significant experience of developing successful paid social media campaigns for a range of business objectives including to drive income generation
• Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to write powerfully and succinctly for different objectives, audiences and channels.
• Excellent creative skills and the ability to recognise effective imagery, and stock photography and video.
• Experience of line management and/or mentoring a junior member of the team.

Job purpose:

• Supporting the Head of Marketing on wider website development and marketing strategies and support tools such as researching and using AI i.e. ChatGPT.Responsible for creating monthly supporter e-newsletter in Mailchimp, regular family e-newsletters (4 per annum) and other e-comms, (with Head of Marketing leading on content strategy), helping to ensure schedules for delivery are agreed and adhered to.
• Working with the Head of Marketing to maintain brand quality control, ensuring brand guidelines and support materials are up-to-date and accessible to the whole team.
• Researching and exploring marketing and promotional initiatives and avenues such as Google Ads, PPC, Instagram / Facebook promotions / sponsorship / ads etc.
• Managing Google Analytics and communications tracking, producing monthly reporting on marketing activity using agreed reporting template, including website activity, e-comms performance, social media performance and growth and audience analysis.
• Liaising with external designers as required on charity collateral and managing relationships with printers, obtaining relevant quotes and ensuring costing clarity.
• Supporting the Head of Marketing and wider fundraising team on fundraising appeals and events, helping to deliver relevant collateral, promotional strategies and communications and supporting fundraising relationship requirements as needed (i.e. website news stories etc).
• Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Services team to support marketing requirements for the Services and family events, including delivery and production of materials, visiting hospital partners to take good quality photos and film content etc.
• Attending our Family events as required to support with photos and marketing content.

We’re Recruiting – Fundraising Manager
From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales as a Fundraiser. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.
Picture being our Fundraising Manager and putting on fundraising events such as dinners and corporate sponsored events like golf or racing days. And, linking with London in Wales Week promoting networking opportunities with grant-givers, major donors, commercial, and corporate sources. Plus, you’ll help manage and set up our high value business network committees outside of Wales which we’ve already made a start on.
In this Fundraising job you can expect to be doing things like:
- Sales & Relationship Management – you’ll be looking after a portfolio of our new and established individual and corporate high net worth donors
- Business Growth Development – you’ll have five figure income targets to meet so will plan your client cultivation work to report and present how your delivery is going
- Collaborating – you’ll interact with our key internal stakeholders about your work and join a team of colleagues across the business where sharing and building on ideas and taking on feedback is welcomed
- Networking – you’ll promote ways our donors and prospective clients can engage with our work and navigate relationships to grow and build connections
- Event Management – you’ll plan, organise and deliver quality fundraising events with networking and income opportunities

To be our Fundraiser with a flair you’ll be skilled in areas where you can scope business development opportunities and turn them into income, manage commercial relationships and put on quality events, build an income pipeline and be self-motivated in pushing past targets.

The details
Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)
Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends.
Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

The Marketing and Communications Officer is an important role at the College as you will proactively support the creation and execution of targeted marketing campaigns and activities, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.
As Marketing and Communications Officer, you will create high-quality and compelling content in multiple formats, ensuring it is on-brand, whilst also taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of paid marketing campaigns across social media and other channels.
A key member of the marketing team and reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will proactively work with stakeholders to gather required content and assets to ensure College marketing priorities are carefully planned and scheduled. You will analyse reporting data to improve marketing performance, whilst frequently liaising with stakeholders to suggest enhancements and improvements and advising on how to optimise.
With a good standard of education, you should have demonstrable experience of Google Analytics and email marketing, whilst having a background in Multi-Media Content production with experience of editing.
With social media marketing experience (both paid and organic) you should also have a good knowledge and understanding of Design & Media editing applications (eg. Canva).
An awareness and understanding of the principles of Project Management would be desirable, as would knowledge of Hootsuite, Ad Words and Dot digital, along with experience of the Adobe suite.
