World Vision is an international children’s charity working with children, their communities, and with supporters and partners, in almost 100 countries.

Through long-term development projects, emergency responses and advocacy we’ve helped bring lasting change to millions of children, over more than 60 years. And as a Christian organisation, everything we do is motivated by our faith as we strive to reflect God’s unconditional love.

Work for World Vision UK and you will be part of a truly global Partnership, building brighter futures for vulnerable children.

Job Purpose

This is an exciting role for someone to manage World Vision UKs (WVUK) portfolio across World Vision International (WVI) partner organisations – Field Offices and Regional Offices. The purpose of this position is to achieve change for the world’s most vulnerable children and support WVUK’s key stakeholders to deliver effective and strategic programme impact, income, and advocacy.

Experience of portfolio and matrix management, cross-cultural and cross-functional working is essential. Proven experience of successful programme management in developing countries and understanding of development theory policy and practice are all key requirements. Ability to function in French or Spanish language would be an advantage but not essential.

Some of the key responsibilities you will have as Regional Portfolio Manager include:

1. Manage WVUK relationships with WV Regional Office (RO) and Field Offices (FO); represent WVUK’s strategic intent and influence the RO & FO in implementing their own strategies.

2. Using your knowledge of Regional and National contexts, programming, trends, risks, and relationships; advise and coordinate multiple WVUK stakeholder interests and engagement with the ROs and FOs.

3. Lead WVUK engagement with FO through programme and strategy support teams; engage with other Funding Offices to ensure coordinated support to RO & NO strategy implementation.

4. Work with WVUK marketing and campaigns teams to develop and review material.

5. Contribute to financial planning and process financial commitments; balancing RO & FO investment plans with WVUK income budgets.

6. Work with Key Relationships Team to support donor engagement, project identification and reporting.

7. In coordination with other teams build WV’s reputation; key relationships and policy influence with external institutions, coalitions, and donors; including but not limited to Department for International Development (DFID) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

Dependent on international travel guidelines, international travel up to 25% of the year will be necessary.

Other than the Regional Programme Unit, you will also be operating with other teams within the Policy and Programmes Directorate and cross organisationally with teams in the Public Engagement Directorate.

Externally you will engage with peer NGOs, donor institutions such as the Department for International Development (DFID), the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and organisations who are operating within your designated region.

As an active Christian, this role offers you the opportunity to integrate your Christian faith and be sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.

In addition to the salary offered, we offer good benefits including pension, generous holiday entitlement and free parking (MK only).

Please upload your CV of full employment history explaining any gaps of employment and reasons for leaving your previous employer. This must be accompanied with a covering letter stating how you meet the essential criteria given in the Job Description provided.
