What the job involves
We’re seeking a Website Content Officer to join our Integrated Marketing and Media team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing and improving the content on our website, making sure it’s clear, accessible and meets the needs of our diverse audience.
Acting as the ‘voice of the user’, you’ll be responsible for publishing updates via our content management system (CMS), maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and accessibility across the site. You’ll work closely with teams across the Prostate Cancer UK to help shape their messages for the web, offering advice, guidance, and training where needed. As part of the Digital Marketing and Channels team, you’ll work closely with our email and social media teams to ensure our owned channels are aligned. What we want from you
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in writing, editing, and proofreading web content to serve a specific audience. You'll be skilled in using content management systems (ideally Umbraco) to build and update web pages.
You’ll have the technical skills to author and edit basic HTML, as well as prepare and edit images for the web. A good understanding of interpreting website analytics, including experience with Google Analytics and search engine optimisation techniques, is essential. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex analytics and technical details clearly and accessibly to colleagues who may not have a technical background.
In this role, you’ll need to manage priorities effectively and work well under tight deadlines. You’ll be confident negotiating and handling challenging conversations when necessary. Community & Events is made up of our Community Fundraising, Supporter Experience, Digital Fundraising & Marketing and Mass Participation teams, across the team we look after a wide range of fundraising activities encouraging supporters to raise money and providing them with the support to do so.
This role as Mass Participation Project Manager sits within Shelter’s Mass Participation team.
About the role
As part of an ambitious and dynamic team you will deliver and develop mass participation products – primarily leading on Shelter’s successful bespoke mass participation product, Walk for Home. You will drive participant numbers, deliver an outstanding supporter experience and grow income and longer-term supporter commitment.
Key responsibilities will include planning and delivering Walk for Home, leading project groups, delivering excellent supporter care, and building strong internal and external relationships. You will proactively collaborate with colleagues within the organisation to maximise product performance and work to increase life-long supporters through both financial and non-financial routes.
This role works closely with the Head of Mass Participation to help shape our product strategy, as well as managing budgets and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth. You will attend events to support the wider Community & Events team and stay informed about sector trends to ensure our products remain competitive and impactful.

You are experienced in overseeing and delivering projects, confident managing multiple priorities, along with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and external partners.
You understand what makes a great supporter journey and look for innovative ways to recruit participants, improve engagement and grow lifetime value. You have a solid knowledge of mass participation fundraising and use data and insights to make improvements.

The role:
As the Events and Marketing Coordinator you will provide logistical and administrative support for events such as webinars, workshops, exhibitions and conferences.
