At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.
Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.
We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. From fireworks on the Hoe to rugby at Plymouth Albion, you could be one of a team keeping our city safe. Our Community First Aiders support everything from major council events like the British Fireworks Championships, to festive Christmas markets, local 10k runs, and community fetes across Plymouth. With full training provided, you'll gain lifesaving skills, join a supportive team, and make a difference at unforgettable events.
Requirements for the role are: Committing 80 hours per year to the role (approximately one day per month). Physical requirements for the role at events requires moving around and treating people. This would include kneeling by a collapsed patient and delivering chest compressions for at least 2 minutes without stopping). To be able to keep up-to-date with online training.
Interviews and Enrolments will be held as a roll on basis as the applications for roles are received.
Training for the role will be given through a Community First Aider course, which will include training in patient assessment and basic life support, managing trauma in emergency settings, and recognising signs and symptoms in both adults and children. You will also determine when to escalate care, seek senior assistance, and handle medications, interventions, and patient communications whilst ensure safety in your role. Essential training such as safeguarding, health and safety, and GDPR will also be given.

WORK
The program of your custom project will be tailored to the duration of your stay and your skills and may include the following components:

About the Children and Young People Area
Our programme offers a wide range of activities for migrant, asylum-seeking and refugee families, children and young people. These include English classes, mentoring, creative workshops and group trips. We help children and young people secure places in nurseries, schools, colleges and universities, boost educational attainment and make friends while learning, creating and discovering talents. For parents, we offer tailored advice, advocacy and workshops that connect families with essential services, including support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and emergency assistance.
About the Role
The Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) SPACE Workshop Assistant will be supporting our Youth Project Coordinator with contributing ideas for workshops and preparing sessions, promoting opportunities for young people in the workshops, creating/sharing useful resources and supporting with monitoring and evaluation. The ideal LAYF Workshop Assistant is someone who is fluent in Spanish & English or Portuguese & English; has some experience in working with children and young people and has an idea of the challenges faced by migrant, refugee & asylum seeking young people in the UK.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Support the Youth Project Coordinator to plan and deliver the LAYF SPACE Workshops and facilitate sessions in Spanish/Portuguese. This would include session space set up, registration, welcoming young people, co-facilitation and assisting the Youth Project Coordinator with managing the group.
● Support with the translation of existing and new resources or comms material from English to Spanish/Portuguese.
● Support with monitoring the impact of activities and evaluating the young people's progress by giving out questionnaires, feedback forms and collecting information for case studies.
● Adhere to IRMO’s Safeguarding procedures and report any safeguarding concerns.
We are looking for someone who is/has:
● Fluent in English and Spanish (essential) and Portuguese (desirable).
● Aware of the issues facing migrants, especially children and young people, in the UK.
● A warm, friendly, patient and empathetic approach towards young people with complex needs.
● Some experience or keen interest in youth work and facilitation with young people.
● Good time management and organisational skills to be able to assist the delivery of the regular LAYF SPACE sessions.
● Some knowledge of safeguarding and child protection in the UK.

Alexandra Rose Charity (ARC) is seeking to appoint a Treasurer to join the Board and support the organisation in achieving its goals. The Treasurer will partner with the CEO and Head of Finance and Business Services and chair the Finance Subcommittee, ensuring that the organisation complies with its purpose, charity and company law, and pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document.
- Oversee ARC’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.

Off The Record (OTR) is an independent charity based in the Havant Borough. We have been supporting young people and their families in Southeast Hampshire and surrounding areas since 1977.
We offer free 1-2-1 and family counselling, group work services for those 11 to 25 and support for their families, we deliver a young carer programme to young people ages 8 to 25.
This is an opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of young people in our community!
We are actively seeking trustees from all areas of life,
You will play a crucial role in guiding the governance of OTR. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Board of Trustees to ensure effective management and sustainability of our charity.
This is an unpaid voluntary position, requiring a commitment of approximately 4-6 hours per month.
Our Trustee board meet every month; in-person bi-monthly for 2 hours with the months in between a shorter 1-hour online meeting. On occasion there will ad-hoc meeting to meet the needs of the organisation and to carry out the trustee role.

Responsibilities:
· Provide strategic guidance and expertise to support Off The Record's vision and mission.
· Actively participate in board meetings, contributing ideas, insights, and constructive feedback.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The statutory duties of a trustee
· To ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

Qualifications and Skills:

· Knowledge and understanding of the voluntary sector and charity governance or willingness to learn.

- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: safeguarding, counselling, mental health, fundraising, finance, marketing, law, or HR would be desirable (but not essential).

support young people’s mental health to fulfil their potential for a brighter future, however during this

A staff of 16 cover all bases, with an established admin and front-line group work and Young Carer
teams, and leadership team that oversee admin, therapeutic and youth services, business support,
volunteers, finance, safeguarding and clinical supervision. Our dedicated counsellors and volunteers
deliver the therapeutic services and information and support calls. Our trustees meet every month,
alternating between formal board meetings, and trustee ongoing development meetings.

local community.

About the Children and Young People Area
Our programme offers a wide range of activities for migrant, asylum-seeking and refugee families, children and young people. These include English classes, mentoring, creative workshops and group trips. We help children and young people secure places in nurseries, schools, colleges and universities, boost educational attainment and make friends while learning, creating and discovering talents. For parents, we offer tailored advice, advocacy and workshops that connect families with essential services, including support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and emergency assistance.
About the Role The Youth Media & Campaigns Volunteer will work closely with the Youth Project Coordinator to strengthen the voice and visibility of the Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) SPACE. This role goes beyond publicity, it’s about helping to grow our online presence, experiment with creative ideas, and bring a modern, dynamic touch to the way we connect with people and partners.
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Support the Youth Worker & Mentor to plan and deliver the LAYF SPACE Workshops and facilitate sessions in Spanish/Portuguese. This would include session space set up, registration, welcoming young people, co-facilitation and assisting the Youth Worker with managing the group.
● Support with the translation of existing and new resources or comms material from English to Spanish/Portuguese.
● Support with monitoring the impact of activities and evaluating the young people's progress by giving out questionnaires, feedback forms and collecting information for case studies
● Adhere to IRMO’s Safeguarding procedures and report any safeguarding concerns. We are looking for someone who is/has: ● Fluent in English and Spanish (essential) and Portuguese (desirable).
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
● Competence in online video conferencing tools (Zoom, Skype, Google Meets), Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills in English & Spanish and/or Portuguese.
