Job description

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 9,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

The role of the Supporter Relations Officer is primarily to promote the work of Dogs Trust to key audience groups by providing first-class customer care to a variety of supporters, focussing on potential and existing legacy pledgers; this includes carrying out presentations in the community, managing press and social media messaging and responses as well as organising rehoming centre tours and supporter events. You’ll also attend one of the national DogFest events to help at the Dogs Trust Village, as well as organise a Christmas Fair, where possible.

The position is based at a Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre, but is part of the Marketing Department. You'll work closely with your Regional Supporter Relations Manager, as well as the Head of Supporter Relations, who is responsible for the team’s strategy and operations, ensuring you are kept updated with all developments and work undertaken.

The successful candidate will have experience in a public facing role within marketing, PR or fundraising, a good knowledge of the local area and a passion and commitment to the work and aims of Dogs Trust . You'll be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to develop and prioritise own workload working well under pressure and to deadlines. A full clean UK manual driving license is essential due to the travel requirement of the role.

At Dogs Trust we value diversity and we're committed to creating an inclusive culture.  We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, abilities and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to achieve our mission. Should you need any adjustments to the recruitment process, either at application or interview stage, please contact us
