About The Role
You will be working in a collaborative, fast-paced and creative environment and will play a key role within our Engagement Team to strengthen Youth Music’s relationships with individual givers. This role will focus on engaging individuals to support our mission, managing relationships with community supporters, and delivering strategies to enhance community fundraising and individual giving.
About You
You are a motivated and relationship-driven individual who is passionate about music and making a difference. You will have a strong ability to engage, motivate and influence prospective and existing individual givers, a strategic mindset for fundraising and supporter engagement, and excellent stewardship skills. Your ability to build lasting relationships with our donors and community fundraisers will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute a strategic plan for growing community fundraising and individual giving, and monitor and evaluate the impact of this.
- Take ownership of Youth Music’s guestlist donation initiative, securing gigs to add an optional donation in aid of Youth Music.
- Support the Philanthropy Lead in cultivating major donor relationships and co-investment opportunities with charitable trusts and foundations.
- Support the Ambassador & Supporter Engagement Manager and Philanthropy Lead with administration of onboarding Youth Music advocates and Change Makers.
- Lead on the administration and organisation of community fundraising events/activities. You will support challenge event participants with their fundraising by liaising with them before and after events, ensuring they feel prepared and have the Youth Music resources they require.
- Work with the Communications Team to make the most of the exciting communications opportunities that exist in the run-up to, during and after fundraising activities and events - including helping to collect, create and distribute photos, videos, news stories, interviews and social media posts.
- Lead on Gifts in Wills and Legacy Giving.
- Manage our fundraising reconciliation, carefully producing donation reports and logging donor information on Salesforce.
Other roles will include supporting the Engagement team with an array of day-to-day tasks such as:
- Provide supporter care; taking and responding to supporter enquiries via phone, email or post.
- Work on securing gifts, raffle prizes and other sponsorship to elevate community events and fundraisers.
- Manage the fundraising enquiries inbox and be the first point of contact for receiving donations and giving advice on how to fundraise for Youth Music.
- Contribute to Youth Music’s media channels to promote and support campaigns and events.
- Update Salesforce with accurate information about all donations and fundraising activities, and support others in its training and use.
- Ensure that all fundraising processes are compliant with GDPR regulations and Fundraising Regulator practice.
- Keep up to date with trends in community fundraising, corporate fundraising and charity events.
- Attend evening events as required, including potential travel and overnight stays.
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities for learning and professional development to ensure excellence and continuous improvement.
- Represent Youth Music at events.

Person Specification
Minimum Criteria
- Two years experience of working in a fundraising/similar role.
- Experience identifying and securing new supporters and managing existing donors.
- Experience monitoring, evaluating and reporting against strategic growth plans.
Other Essential Criteria
- Community fundraising events/activities administration experience.
- Have experience in Gifts in Wills and Legacy Giving.
- Experience using Salesforce or other similar platforms.
- You’ll be a great people person, able to engage with members of the public enthusiastically and empathetically.
- You’ll have excellent research skills and careful attention to detail.
- You’ll have a good understanding of the Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- You’ll be a team player.
- You’ll be methodical and well organised.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a youth or music-oriented organisation.
- Understanding of the music education and/or music industries landscape.
- Passion for music and interest in its benefits for young people and society.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and strategic planner to join RABI as our new Head of Finance & Operations. This is a critical role at the heart of our organisation, ensuring that our financial management, operational governance, HR practices and estates oversight are robust and future-focused. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in planning and delivering the strategic priorities of the charity.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, you will lead and develop high-performing teams across Finance, HR, and Estates & Operations. You will bring strong strategic planning insight, ensuring sound financial planning and performance, operational excellence, and compliance with governance frameworks and regulations. You’ll also manage relationships with investment and estate advisors to ensure we are making the best use of our resources in line with our strategic goals.
What we are looking for
You will be a CCAB-qualified finance professional with substantial experience of working at a senior level, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector. Your background will include leading finance, HR and operations functions, and developing and implementing strategic financial and operational plans. We’re looking for someone with excellent leadership skills, who brings a collaborative and open approach to building strong relationships across teams and with external partners. Experience of investment portfolio oversight, estate management, and working through organisational change will be key to your success in this role.
You will also bring strong planning and analytical skills, an eye for risk and performance indicators, and the ability to present strategic planning insight clearly to executive colleagues and Trustees. Above all, you’ll share our commitment to supporting farming communities and have a strong affinity with RABI’s values and mission.

CHARITY FOUNDATION MANAGER REQUIRED
James Marshall Foundation (JMF) is a long-established local charity. Its mission is to support financially disadvantaged young people aged 4 to 24 years old living in Harpenden, Wheathampstead, Kimpton, Redbourn, Flamstead or Markyate by awarding individual grants for education and career development opportunities.
In 2024, JMF awarded over 850 individual grants totalling £200,000.
We are seeking a dedicated Foundation Manager to oversee the operational and strategic management of the James Marshall Foundation.
The JMF has an endowment and as such, our focus is on the effective distribution of funds to support our objectives and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the charity.
The Foundation Manager is responsible for, amongst other things, managing the grant process, overseeing financial stewardship (including in respect of the foundation’s properties), supporting the trustees, fulfilling compliance and reporting obligations, and maintaining the visibility of JMF with local schools and other relevant bodies. The Foundation Manager will manage a team of 3 part-time Foundation Associates.
The role is based in our office in Harpenden, with the expectation of hours being 28–30 hours a week on a minimum of 4 days. Attendance at some evening meetings will be required.
Salary: £45–50,000 FTE

As the charity progresses into this critical phase of development, we have been awarded a major (£320k) grant to support capacity building. This will enable the further implementation of Salesforce as the charity’s CRM, focusing on the project management and finance functions of operation, transforming efficiency and reducing administrative strain. This will be achieved by creating the position of Technical Project Lead to project manage and oversee implementation of Salesforce; increasing capacity in the finance team by appointing a Finance Manager; and implementing new cloud-based financial accounting software to work alongside Salesforce. The Director of Finance & Operations will direct, administer and coordinate the financial, governance, HR, IT and operational activities of the charity in accordance with company policies and the Strategic Plan established by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Board of Trustees, and to assure the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the planning, delivery and reporting of these activities.
Salary: £46,000-£51,000 per annum depending on experience.
