Regional Youth and Community Director
OASIS UK – Youth and Community (OCP)
Permanent, full-time post, 40 hours per week, inclusive of breaks
Salary: £51,959 per annum (£54,669 p.a. London Weighting for London based staff)
At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;
- London and South East (North, Central and South London and Kent - five local Oasis charities)
- North West (Greater Manchester – two local charities, and two regionwide youth violence contracts)
- North East (NE Lincs, Humber, Bradford and Sheffield – four local charities)
With accountability to the Oasis CEO for Youth and Community the role of the regional Youth and Community Director will have three main functions:
1 Strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams
2 Regional development, working alongside other functions within the Oasis family
3 Being part of the national Youth and Community leadership team
The Youth and Community Director will have strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams in the region, providing accountability and support to the local leaders and charity boards. This responsibility area falls into two categories; those the Director is directly responsible for, and those they are responsible for ensuring are carried out by those within their region.

An Oasis neighbourhood is a community movement and the joining together of all the work Oasis does in any one place, which could include foodbanks, debt advice centres, family support and advice services, healthcare, youth work, children’s work, alongside other Oasis activities in that community, including formal education through Oasis Academies.
The Youth and Community function of Oasis is responsible for the wider community work that takes place within Oasis neighbourhoods, working closely with the other functions of Oasis to outwork our vision. In relation to governance, Oasis Community Partnerships is the national charity, with each local team operating from their own local Oasis charity.

Communications at JB
This is the perfect time to join JB as Communications Lead. By the time this role starts we will be launching a new brand and website; with associated key messages and audience development priorities. The Role
We’re seeking a visionary and collaborative Communications Lead to lead the next phase of our communications strategy. This role is about more than messaging — it’s about shaping a compelling and inspiring public voice for creative climate action.
You will be responsible for our brand, storytelling, content strategy, and creative outputs—ensuring that everything we do reflects our values, amplifies our impact, and deepens our reach across the cultural and climate landscape. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our impact including welcoming new cultural organisations, creative practitioners, environmental partners, and funders into our network.
This is a digital-first communications role, with a strong focus on content development, storytelling, and designing varied communication campaigns. You’ll oversee our editorial voice across blogs, email, social media, and digital content. Alongside our Marketing Lead, you will ensure our insights, tools, and narratives are warm, purpose-focused, clear, accessible, and optimised for reach and engagement. You will be someone who thrives on the combination of ambitious strategic thinking and delivering content and projects on the ground.
You will collaborate with partner organisations to co-create communications, support joint campaigns, and ensure our voice is visible and aligned in the broader climate and culture movement. And while press/media remains part of the role, your primary focus will be digital content, brand positioning, and reaching new audiences.
You will be part of a small Marketing and Communications team and work closely with the rest of JB’s 22-person, supportive and mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and deliver an inclusive, digital-first communications strategy that positions Julie’s Bicycle as a cultural leader in climate action.
- Work with senior leadership to drive communications that support organisational growth, impact and fundraising, helping to expand our network and deepen engagement with the arts and cultural sector and the climate and environmental movement.

Brand, Creative & Campaigns
- Lead on brand implementation, ensuring coherence of messaging and tone across all channels and materials.
- Deliver innovative and values-led communications campaigns in collaboration with partners and internal teams. Lead on key messaging, ensuring we are consistent and confident across all our channels.
- Take a data-led approach to maximise impact of our communications.
- Oversee design and creative production for campaigns, reports and digital content, (working alongside our Marketing Lead and with support from external designers/freelancers).

- Shape and oversee editorial calendars that reflect our programmes, partnerships, research, and events.

- Ensure all content is optimised for audience growth, accessibility, and search (SEO), working closely with our Marketing Lead who leads on our overall web and SEO strategy.
- Support on the production of public reports and external briefing materials, ensuring appropriate tone and key messages.
- Manage internal and freelance team members producing social media content.
Partnerships & Profile
- Collaborate with cultural, environmental, and funding partners to co-create shared messaging, campaigns, and communications assets.
- Ensure JB’s story, voice, and impact are clearly represented in all collaborations and public-facing materials.
- Support JB’s role in coalitions and networks by developing communications that reflect collective aims and shared values.
- Work with the JB team to create and implement a strategy for public-facing thought leadership.
Media & External Relations
- Maintain relationships with relevant journalists and media outlets, responding to media opportunities that align with our strategy.
- Support the Director and other team members with media briefings and public communications as needed.
- When funded opportunities arise, lead liaison with external PR and media consultants.
Team & Collaboration
- Support the management of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
- Work closely with all internal teams — partnership, consultancy, research, advocacy, programmes — to align messaging and amplify impact.
- Contribute to organisational learning, planning, and shared values.
- Support the implementation and day to day running of JB’s new CRM.
- With the Marketing Lead, strengthen internal editorial and brand sign off processes for all key content.

Person Specification
Essential
- Substantial experience in a senior communications role, ideally within the cultural, environmental, or non-profit sectors.
- Significant experience in designing and delivering successful communications strategies.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a track record of developing clear, creative, and inclusive content.
- Strong experience in campaign development, brand implementation, visual storytelling, and communications project management.
- Knowledge of content strategy, SEO, and audience engagement across digital platforms.
- Demonstrable ability to embed equity, diversity, and commitment to climate justice into communications practice.
- Collaborative and confident communicator with experience working across teams and with external partners.
- Strategic thinker with a commitment to Julie’s Bicycle’s mission and values.
- Strong design aesthetic and use of design skills (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Canva).

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.
You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

This is an externally funded post which will be focused on opening new provision and supporting existing provision in order to reduce waiting lists within specific funding areas. You need to be able to coach, empower and inspire our volunteers and cadets, both in person and remotely, to grow the Sea Cadets.

South London Citizens
South London Citizens (SLC) is Citizen’s UK second oldest chapter, established in 2004. SLC has over 100 member institutions spread across seven south London boroughs, working together for the common good.
South London Citizens has developed 1000s of local leaders through training and action teams and won big national campaigns, for example delivering free school meals for children whose parents have no recourse to public funds.
The Living Wage campaign is part of SLC’s DNA and in the last 12 months a campaign to bring the Living Wage Campaign to the Southbank has delivered well over 1000 pay rises to south London workers. The Real Living Wage is currently £13.85 in London, compared with the National Minium Wage of £12.21 (for workers aged over 21).
Community Organising
Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations.
Purpose
The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. They work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing their experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change.
This role is particularly to organise around the issue of low pay and precarious work and participate in Citizens UK’s flagship campaign, the Living Wage Campaign. We need someone who can speak Spanish as well as English, as south London’s Latin American communities are leading the work in South London. There is scope to involve leaders in campaigns around housing, health and migrants' rights, as we recognise that people affected by low pay are very often determined to take action on wider issues beyond work. The purpose of the role is to develop leadership, especially grassroots leadership, workers from London’s lowest paid sectors, that can power the campaign. Crucially the Associate Organiser will work with colleagues in South London Citizens to build and execute a strategy that develops powerful leaders for South London Citizens and wins the Living Wage, Living Hours and other material gains for thousands of workers across the capital.
Main Responsibilities
Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK, reporting to the Lead Organiser, South West, SLC, your main responsibilities will include:
Build relational power to further the goals of CUK

Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required

The Role

Key Duties and Responsibilities
General
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior management teams, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial information for both entities. This role requires a good understanding of accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to contribute strategically to the growth and sustainability of both Ethex and Energise Africa. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the missions and values of both organisations and comfortable working in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:

Oversee financial accounting for both companies, working with our finance assistant, who is responsible for book-keeping, banking, AR and AP.

Prepare accurate and timely management accounts.

Manage the process for production of the annual report and accounts for both entities, liaising with external accountants / auditors and ensuring timely completion.

Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the respective senior management teams, Boards of Directors and funders of Ethex and Energise Africa.
Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting processes for both organisations, working collaboratively with departmental heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.

Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support strategic decision-making for both entities.

Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and provide insightful commentary and recommendations for both Ethex and Energise Africa.
Cash Flow Management:

Manage the cash flow of both companies, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.

Develop and implement strategies for optimising cash flow and working capital across both entities, considering any intercompany transactions.
Tax & Compliance:

Stay up to date and ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation and accounting standards.

Prepare quarterly VAT returns.

Check corporation tax returns prepared by external accountants.
Systems & Processes:

Continuously review and improve systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy and safeguard the assets of both entities.

When applicable, oversee the implementation accounting software and other relevant financial tools for both organisations.
Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including accountants, banks, non-executive directors and funders.

Provide financial information and support to teams within Ethex and Energise Africa.
Skills & Experience:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

Proven track record in a responsible finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller or similar, with experience managing finances for multiple entities or a group structure.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support the Area Manager / Operations Director in ensuring the Charity’s development and growth in ways that are relevant and in line with operational services and charitable objectives.
To ensure the Charity achieves its aims and objectives and fulfils its operational plan effectively by providing high quality intervention, providing person centred support for at-risk young people.
To have key responsibilities in reducing risk and delivery of our Shaping Futures Intervention this is our Short-Term Intervention Programme (STIP) in Buckinghamshire.
This project is funded for the next 18 months, we will be working closely with partners to extend this funding agreement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate onboarding of young people, including the initial assessment, and developing 12 individualised sessions bespoke to each young person.
- Ensure a 12-week programme is written and sent to the young person with agreed outcomes after initial meeting.
- Responsible for a case load of young people up to 20 young people at any one time.
- Lead sessions and activities with appropriate resources to empower young people to make more positive choices to reduce violent behaviours, reduce risk of exploitation and other offending behaviours.
- Support the multi-agency network for the young people you are working with. Report any safeguarding concerns to the DSL, with support from your line manager.
- Work in partnership with the Operations team to develop opportunities in line with the intervention if needed.
- Attend stakeholder meetings where needed.
- Uphold Caudwell Youth’s values
- Effectively report to your line manager complaints and compliments relating to the programme
- Build knowledge of local strategies, linking in with network forums.

Partnership and Liaison:
- Work closely with the team and the stakeholder steering group to promote good communication and shared focus.

- Establish and develop good relationships with other charities and agencies to increase partnership and effective joint working where appropriate.

Being a Head of Fundraising at St Wilfrid’s
As an interim Head of Fundraising, covering maternity leave, you will need strong leadership skills, a passion for fundraising with a track record for delivering financial results, and a desire to work for a meaningful cause. This role leads an incredible team of 12 dedicated fundraising professionals who, along with the support of our event volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. Their dedication to, and care for, our supporters generates over £4 million annually, which is vital for funding our care.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our fundraising department thrives, and will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive fundraising budget, including forecasting for the future, working closely with the Director of Income Generation
- Developing effective fundraising programmes in all revenue streams, identifying priority areas – to enhance the fundraising portfolio of income generation activities; consistently evaluating and adjusting plans and strategies
- Ensuring the close management of income and expenditure, making adjustments where necessary to ensure good financial management
- Leading, building and motivating the Fundraising team, providing leadership and management and overseeing development and training, to enable individuals to reach their full potential
- Collaborating closely with our marketing and retail heads as one of our department leads
Please note this is 30-37.5 hour a week, fixed term contract, until September 2026.
Qualifications and Experience
- Fundraising experience and specialist knowledge at a senior level and in a wide range of fundraising income streams
- Level 7 qualification in Fundraising
- Extensive practical experience at a senior level of leading and developing the skills of a team
- Experience of building high level relationships
- Experience of developing funding propositions, campaigns and securing significant funds in excess of £2m annually
