Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Individual Giving Fundraiser to support the Supporter Development team as Individual Giving Fundraiser.
This is an exciting and varied role will be providing a key role in developing and increasing income, donor acquisition and engagement across SSCH’s Individual Giving fundraising programme, including legacies. The post will work to maximise potential and develop both new and existing donors, through targeted donor development campaigns, supporter acquisition and retention programmes.
The post holder will work flexibly across the Individual Giving income streams including individual donations, campaigns, gifts in memory and legacies. As part of this, a key responsibility will be the relationship management and support to any of our supported families who choose to fundraise for SSCH. This role will also support with legacy administration.
This role will combine a targeted driven approach with excellent donor care and relationship management helping to drive growth and income.
About you
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience within a fundraising or comparable role. Ideally the candidate will have some legacy administration experience.
You will also have an ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider fundraising team to ensure success of income growth.

We currently have a permanent opportunity for someone to join us as a Direct Marketing Officer - Regular Giving (Lottery & Lead Generation).
As part of this role, you will manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. You will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate agreed income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. You’ll also be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a creative, ambitious, and data-driven individual to join us as Senior Officer Digital Optimisation, specialising in UX/UI to lead on the development and delivery of UK for UNHCR’s testing and optimisation strategy to improve conversion rates and user experience online, including our donation pages, virtual gift shop, website and various subdomains. The role reports to the Head of Digital Fundraising and manages all donation pages, digital testing and tracking, as well as a range of Google and optimisation products.
The primary purpose is to optimise digital performance through A/B testing across our websites and supporting teams to adopt and implement a test-and-learn framework in their digital channels to raise more funds for refugees.
An existing A/B testing roadmap has been developed and is ready for your input and ideas. However, testing and optimisation is not limited to fundraising and will aim to improve digital conversion and performance across teams, channels and platforms – playing a key part in UNHCR’s annual fundraising programme to enable UNHCR to deliver its vision of a world where every person forced to flee can build a better life.
You will work very closely with the digital fundraising team and wider Individual Giving team, as well as Communications and Philanthropy/ Corporate Partnership colleagues, our digital agency and international fundraising teams.
Passionate about UX/UI and fundraising, you will be a skilled communicator, tech-savvy and an experienced project manager. You will have strong problem-solving skills, a test-and-learn approach and a track record of meeting deadlines and meeting/ exceeding set KPIs.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop and lead strategy for conversion rate optimisation, including the management of a testing roadmap to regularly execute A/B and multivariate tests and the use of new and existing technology, e.g. heatmapping to reduce friction rates and continuously improve and optimise conversions.
- Lead UX/UI across organisation, overseeing and implementing tests and analysis across teams to improve web experience and achieve required KPIs and objectives.
- Manage Google suite of tools and relevant relationships, ensuring everything is up to date and operating as necessary.
- Manage all donation pages and fundraising landing pages, building new pages, maintaining existing pages and closing pages; identify areas for improvement and work with relevant stakeholders to test and optimise.
- Utilise and manage suite of third-party platforms, e.g. Optimizely, Mouseflow, iRaiser, Sleeknote, Typeform to improve user experience and increase donations and conversions.
- Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying fundraising opportunities and develop relevant comms and journeys as needed, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation.
- Use data and insights to produce regular reports on performance against KPIs; use analytics to identify trends and optimise activities based on user behaviour.
- Manage and maintain vanity and tracking links across the organisation, utilising Google Tag Manager and UTMs to monitor performance and results.
- Stay up to date with digital best practices and technology, including sector trends, follow industry policies, including GDPR, PECR regulations, attending training and optimising plans accordingly.
- Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced communities, campaigns from international, content and reports from the field.
- Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global teams, and HQ.

Personal Attributes and Experience
Essential Experience
- Experience of implementing and optimising digital marketing campaigns across channels, including paid and organic social, search and display; preferably within the charity sector.
- Experience of developing and delivering strategies for conversion rate optimisation and user experience/user interface.
- Experience of using digital channels for lead acquisition and conversion to grow income.
- Experience of measuring, evaluating and reporting on digital activity and performance across multiple channels and digital campaigns, paid and organic.
- Experience of working with external agencies and suppliers.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Experience of using Google Analytics or other web behavioural analytics tools.
- Experience with experimentation tools like Optimisely or similar.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent written communication skills: able to produce compelling, persuasive, and concise copy for a range of specific target audiences.
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills and an ability to give clear and constructive feedback on creative and copy.
- Proven proficiency with design principles and tools (Canva/Adobe suite).
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and do what it takes to get the job done.

As a member of the curatorial team, you will be responsible for researching, understanding and communicating the Collections and their histories to connect visitors, wider audiences and communities to Waddesdon. You will participate in an ambitious and inclusive permanent display and exhibitions programme, and will work closely with the Senior Curator, Senior Collections Manager and other colleagues to plan and deliver the strategy for care, access and engagement for the Collections. Dignity in Dying is the UK’s leading campaign for assisted dying law reform. We fight for a compassionate assisted dying law for terminally ill, mentally competent adults. We are a national campaign and membership organisation campaigning for change across the UK.
Compassion in Dying is a national charity working to amplify people’s voices, shift attitudes and drive changes to the healthcare system so people’s end-of-life decisions are heard, understood and respected when it matters most. We support people to start honest conversations about death and dying, and record and revisit their wishes whenever they want to.
The Role:
We are seeking an exceptional, creative fundraising leader who can bring their knowledge and skills to build on a successful fundraising programme to deliver long-term transformation for a truly unique cause and organisation.
As we move closer towards assisted dying law change across the UK, this role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile campaign and sister charity. It is critical for us to develop our Individual Giving, Membership, In Memory and Legacy programmes, ensuring they are audience-led and can deliver the income growth that our future organizations will need.
This role is integral to achieving our aims – leading the strategic development and management of all our individual giving income streams.
To succeed in this role, you will understand the power of data and insight to help us improve our understanding of our audiences, develop new products - and increase income from individual giving and legacies. You will work collaboratively with senior leaders across the organisation on strategic cross-organisational projects, at the same time helping to build a culture that recognises and reflects the importance of fundraising for long-term and sustainable income. You’ll also inspire and lead a busy, fast-paced cross-organisational team (finance, operations and database, digital and social media) to meet targets; and set, monitor and report on team budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction of the Individual Giving and Legacy programme in line with the wider organisational strategy and continually monitor results and insights to assess performance against targets, proactively managing risks and providing accurate reporting
- Embed innovation and technology into strategic planning, adopting forward-thinking tools and approaches.
- Lead on budgeting for Individual Giving and Legacies, setting budgets, mapping out activity, reforecasting quarterly and reporting monthly on income and expenditure.
- Plan and deliver individual giving and legacy campaigns end-to-end, working with colleagues on content creation, marketing, supporter journeys, stewardship and thanking.
- Work closely with the Development Lead to build a robust mid-value programme to increase supporter life time value, and support prospecting of major donors.
- Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and campaigns, digital and media colleagues on cross-organisational projects to increase net income, supporter reach and team efficiencies.
- Build and nurture your external network and strategic external partnerships that actively shape planning and decision-making for your specialism and the wider organisation.
- Ensure all Individual Giving and Legacy campaigns, appeals and products are fully compliant and be a proactive leader in understanding and applying all fundraising compliance requirements including data compliance, the fundraising code of practice etc
Person Specification
Experience
- Proven success as a leader in individual giving and legacy fundraising, responsible for building and delivering fundraising strategies resulting in income growth
- Strong knowledge of a range of Individual Giving fundraising techniques, including acquisition and retention in digital, direct mail, in memory, legacy
- Experience of using data and insight to innovate new products and build stewardship journeys designed to maximise audience engagement
- Experience of building and sustaining successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of building a successful and high achieving team
Skills and abilities
- Highly skilled at understanding and analysing complex data and utilising internal and external insights to make changes and improvements to strategy and programmes
- Proven ability of building and managing complex budgets and regular reporting of income and expenditure
- Proven ability of developing over-arching plans for multi-channel (especially digital) marketing campaigns and supporter journeys
- Ability to successfully collaborate with data teams to make strategic decisions and evaluate work
- Competent user of databases and analysis software
