Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. About the role
We are looking for a creative, pro-active and outgoing Corporate Relationship Manager to join our team who can build on our successful corporate partnership programme. This is an exciting role that combines new business and account management, implementing Shooting Star Children’s Hospices corporate fundraising strategy with the aim of maximising income from corporate partnerships.
We would welcome applications from candidates with strong corporate fundraising or comparable experience who can maintain and develop existing relationships with corporate partners and proactively identify and secure new relationships. You will understand the need for a bespoke approach to each corporate, understanding their requirements and how best to achieve a mutually beneficial relationship. You will need to be committed, self-motivated and passionate about the work of the charity, and have demonstrable experience of delivering fundraising targets.
As a key member of our Corporate Engagement Team, you will be responsible for researching prospective corporate partners for specific industry sectors and building a pipeline of potential sources of income, identifying new opportunities and growing our partnership base as well as maximising income from current partners, and leading on our corporate volunteering programme. You will be a natural communicator who has the ability to persuade, influence and inspire, with the confidence to build relationships at a senior level, across various departments and industries.

Role description
As Commercial Sales & Events Manager you’ll take the lead in maximising venue hire and events income to support the organisation’s charitable aims. You’ll possess the skills and experience to organise and deliver weddings, corporate events and venue hires and work with our outsourced caterers and other contractors to ensure a first-class customer experience. You’ll also be working with our outsourced film contractors to secure bookings for filming and photo shoots across the Estate. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a key part of the role, as you’ll be liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and staff, as is the ability to develop new business and leads. In addition, you’ll need excellent project management skills and the ability to develop and manage budgets. You’ll be a health and safety champion and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. There is real variety to this role and an opportunity to work across all areas of the estate.

The role
Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. About You
You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. Main responsibilities for the Fundraising & Membership Officer
Fundraising
- Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
- Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
- Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
- Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities and campaigns, including both income and impact.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing individuals and organisations, such as member alumni and grant-making trusts and foundations.
- Lead on stewarding the support of donors, funders, ambassadors and influencers through regular communications and feedback on impact.
- Create and submit monitoring reports to funders that are both timely and of high quality.
Promoting the Charitable Aims of the Charity
- With marketing support as needed, create effective messaging to be shared externally and with existing members to engender a sense of belonging to the high learning potential community, together with an understanding of its rights and its potential positive impact on society, with the aim of creating a desire to support the charity now and on an ongoing basis.
- Work with the Community Information Coordinator to utilise all appropriate opportunities to convey these messages.
Membership
- Design and coordinate an effective system to enhance the membership offer and improve membership renewal and retention.
- Work with the administration and community teams to ensure that the journey from interested party to becoming a member and from member to retained member is compelling and framed coherently and that systems are in place to effectively implement this.
- Work with the Community Information Coordinator on campaigns and strategies to reach new members, engage with existing members and retain existing members.
- Have a thorough understanding of the membership database, collate information and monitor, evaluate and report on all aspects of membership performance.
- Design and coordinate regular market research, including competitor analysis, to identify member/stakeholder needs, to support the rationale for the development of new member/community products and services, and to liaise with and advise other teams in the organisation as appropriate.
- Analyse and interpret marketing and social media performance.

- Recommend improvements to the Trustee Board regarding governance policies. Ensure changes to governing documents comply with regulations and liaise with relevant bodies when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory processes and deadlines.
- Assist in preparing the Institution's Annual Report, providing accurate information.
- Prepare the Trustee's Annual Report in collaboration with Trustees and the Finance Department.
- Complete reporting requirements within regulatory deadlines for the Benevolent Fund, including submissions to regulatory bodies and investment managers.
- Maintain and protect the Institution's trademark registrations.
Key requirements and experience:
- Supporting board and committee members, including minute-taking and proofreading, ideally in a membership organisation.
- Assisting committees, panels, and executive teams in developing and implementing policies.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.
