About you

We are looking for a proactive and visible finance professional who is able to engage and build relationships across the organisation as a pivotal member within a values-led high performing organisation. You will be a qualified accountant with proven track record of financial management awareness and a solid understanding of charity audits and statutory accounts preparation. You will have the ability to work with staff across the organisation in supporting good financial governance and oversight of financial operational matters. You will have the ability to analyse financial information and present this in a suitable format for the audience. You will have good ability to meet deadlines, be IT literate with an emphasis on financial systems, spreadsheets, Quickbooks and Excel. You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and be able to work with minimum supervision.

About the role

The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

The Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team works with young people facing homelessness to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education. As part of our delivery, we have developed a weekly ESOL group for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. Your role would involve the planning, preparation and delivery of these non-formal education sessions as well as delivering wider 1:1 JET casework. The Role

Join the award-winning Moving Medicine team, led by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK. We're seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead two impactful patient-centred physical activity projects.

About the role:

Moving Medicine is an award-winning initiative of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM) aimed at improving health through physical activity. It provides healthcare professionals with practical tools and evidence-based resources to promote physical activity in clinical practice. Moving Medicine is our free, award-winning initiative, designed to provide clinicians and allied health professionals with accessible, evidence based, condition specific information to help give advice on physical activity at all stages of a patient’s treatment pathway.

We are expanding our impact through the development of additional Moving Medicine resources for patients. This role will include project managing two large, interlinked projects, with time split across both:

One project is in conjunction with Nuffield Health, the project funders, will initially focus on publishing the newly built Moving Medicine Everyone website (due for publication in November 2025) and accompanying educational resources. The Project Manager will work closely with Moving Medicine clinicians, healthcare partners, stakeholders, and academic collaborators. A key aspect of this role will be to coordinate stakeholder engagement, facilitate collaborative input from academic and clinical experts, and support the demonstration of social impact through evaluation and dissemination activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in aligning the project with strategic goals, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining strong relationships.

The other project, Moving Together, is a national collaborative initiative led by the FSEM in partnership with Active Partnerships National Office and funded by Sport England (National Lottery). The project is building a broad cross-sector network and aims to empower people with long-term health conditions to access physical activity by removing barriers, developing evidence-based frameworks, training resources, and governance structures that enable consistent, safe, and effective physical activity conversations across sectors and systems. Working closely with clinicians, patients, policymakers, and professional bodies, Moving Together connects national standards with local implementation, supporting workforce development, data-driven evaluation, and sustainable behaviour change to improve population health and reduce inequalities.

The Project Manager will split their time across both projects, which are closely connected in their goals and approach, and will play a key role in ensuring alignment and synergy between them. This includes supporting shared stakeholders, integrating learning and resources, and contributing to a unified strategy for improving physical activity access and outcomes for patients.

Time Commitment and Remuneration 

This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule.  This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.

Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.

The Role

The objectives of the Communications and Campaigns team are to increase the public profiles of Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK, mobilise public support to bring about change and ensure that all colleagues are aware of, bought into and engaged in contributing to the values and direction of the charities. 

A natural storyteller, you will have a talent for creating shortform video content that engages key audiences across our social media platforms. By generating ideas and making them happen, sourcing contributors, shooting and editing footage, you will monitor the performance of posts and proactively incorporate best practice to ensure that content is well received by audiences, and that the charities’ presence on its social media channels grows.

You will regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, the other founding charities and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.

Main duties include:

• Creating shortform video content
• Project manage the production of video content for social media campaigns
• Ensure that the charity showcases its advice, information, programmes and services through shortform content.
• Champion and promote the brands, including their tone of voice, in our creative content.
• Working with the Social Media Manager, plan for and produces engaging content for relevant awareness events, including Mental Health Awareness Week in May and World Mental Health Day in October.
• Analyse the performance of video content
• Help the team keep up with social media trends, spotting opportunities

About You

A content creator and social media expert you will have experience of planning, shooting and editing footage to engage audiences across different social media platforms and of using creative design software (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premiere Pro - essential). With an eye for detail, you will use your project management skills to analyse the performance of social media content, refining and improving content through iteration.

You will also have experience of:

• Writing and editing copy to suit different audiences and providing updates and briefings at meetings.
• Being a brand guardian and supporting others to use brand and tone of voice guidelines.
• Planning, creating and scheduling engaging content across multiple social media channels, while optimising content by channel and audience.

Our Head of National Services is a key leadership role in our Services and Support directorate, as part of our Services Delivery function.

Our National Services delivery team includes our ‘’National Hub’’ (or Helpline) as well as our Specialist/Peer/Self Management Services.

Our Head of National Services will be:

• leading on the delivery and continuous improvement of our National services, developing a high-performing and motivated culture within teams.
