The role works across two important organisational areas, gaining valuable exposure to ISEAL’s approach to catalysing global efforts to advance on critical social and economic sustainability issues. The Assistant will play a key role in ISEAL´s team, providing assistance to two managers to ensure efficient administration of their respective work areas - membership and operations. In the operations team, the successful candidate will get involved in the processes of running an international not for profit organisation, while also supporting the membership team in high quality member communications and data management.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be well-organised with great attention to detail and an excellent ability to follow up agreed tasks. Working efficiently and reliably under direction, you have a friendly and professional demeanour and are comfortable in your communications and interactions with colleagues and external stakeholders. You enjoy working on a varied and changing set of tasks to support the implementation of a project or a collaborative group process.  You have a natural aptitude with IT systems and data and enjoy helping others get the most out of them. Having worked on data analysis before would be a real bonus.

Please note that to fulfil the operations support tasks effectively, the postholder will be required to be present in the office on at least 2 days per week.

The key responsibilities we entrust you with

Operations Support

• Guide and assist ISEAL staff in using software tools effectively by leading inductions, writing guidance, sharing best practice, providing training and trouble-shooting issues that arise
• Manage IT equipment and liaise with external IT support
• Facilitate internal communications by supporting regular and ad hoc staff meetings
• Work closely with Senior Manager Operations on improvement projects, including leading smaller projects
• Assist in promoting best practice in use of IT, communications and knowledge management systems across the organisation and suggest and help implement improvements
• Support management of ISEAL’s office space in London, including liaising with landlord and ensuring office works well for staff
• Lead on procurement of items needed for smooth running of office, for staff leading events and equipment for staff home offices
• Participate actively in team and organisational planning and activities
• Participate in internal staff management processes such as performance reviews, supervisory meetings, etc.

Member communications

• Gather and prepare content for member mailings, including our monthly member-only newsletter, the ISEAL Insider
• Maintain the internal Mailchimp schedule, liaising with staff in the Communications team to plan and schedule mailings effectively
• Support other ISEAL teams to communicate appropriately with members through our different channels and mailing lists, checking for adherence to brand guidelines
• Support the Membership Coordinator and Membership Manager with drafting blogs, news items, and group posts to share updates with members via the ISEAL Platform
• With the Membership Coordinator, regularly review content on the ISEAL Platform to ensure it remains accurate and up to date, liaising with other teams where necessary

Monitoring our membership programme

• Regularly collect data to help monitor our member communications, engagement with member-only events, and use of the ISEAL Platform
• Create and update quarterly reports and dashboards to help identify and communicate key trends and inform improvements
• Support the Membership Manager with the preparation of quarterly and annual engagement reports to send to members
• Deliver administrative processes that underpin member relationship management and track member engagement, including maintenance of member records within Salesforce

Other

• Provide occasional support for member-only Zoom webinars and at in-person events
• Be a collaborative and effective member of both the Membership and Operations teams, liaising with colleagues at all levels across the organisation where needed
• Support the Membership Manager and Membership Coordinator on member engagement projects

Experience, Knowledge and Attributes

• Experience working or interning in a support/administrative or customer service/communications role, ideally in international NGO, professional or membership organisation
• Enthusiasm for using data to drive customer engagement and aptitude for working with data, ideally some experience in extracting and working with analytical information
• Good organisational and time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently and establish priorities
• Ability to communicate confidently and sensitively with a diverse global community
• Proficient written and spoken English
• Proficient IT skills, familiarity with virtual meeting tools (e.g. Teams, Zoom, etc.) and the use of contact management databases (e.g. Salesforce) and MS Office (especially Excel), as well as a demonstrable willingness to learn new tools and systems

Key Responsibilities  

1) Membership and Engagement 

• Support the implementation of a membership engagement plan to help increase retention and highlight member value. 

• Help promote Imkaan’s membership offer and communicate its unique value to members. 

• Assist in managing communication channels and touchpoints for members. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure member voices shape Imkaan’s influencing work including through policy consultations, parliamentary events, and campaigns.

2) Member Services and Development

Person Specification 

Essential Experience

Oversee the success of our Networks and Groups for staff from hospices across the UK, ensuring they remain coordinated, consistent and informed by experts and evidence. 

Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across the charity, to help deliver plan and deliver these virtual groups, which involve multiple hospice staff and external stakeholders across different subject areas.

Deliver and grow our integral Big Conversations series, which brings the hospice sector together on the biggest issues of the day.

We’re looking for someone who takes a consistent project management approach to leading virtual networks and large online meetings/webinars. Building strong internal and external relationships will be vital.

You might be working in the charity sector already, or bring strong technical experience delivering virtual events or online membership networks from other sectors. You don’t need to have a background in healthcare.

You’ll join a close, 16-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK, made up of experienced clinicians, sector-leading project and event managers, and specialists in evidence and research. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities. 

At Hospice UK the job title for this role is Network Manager. In other organisations this role might be called Virtual Events Manager or Membership Events Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Programme Development Manager represents an evolution from our Programme Manager role, focusing on shaping the future direction of The Avenues Youth Project's programmes whilst maintaining oversight of current delivery. This isn't just about managing what we do now, it's about looking ahead and designing what comes next.

Working closely with the Programme Director, you will be responsible for researching innovative approaches to youth work, developing funding proposals, and creating programmes that respond to the changing needs of young people aged 8-19. We need someone who can think creatively about engagement whilst keeping an eye on emerging trends and opportunities in the sector.

As a member of the senior team, you'll help embed our values throughout the organisation and ensure our programmes remain at the cutting edge of youth work practice.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Programme Innovation and Strategic Development

Programme Design and Innovation

● Research and develop innovative programme concepts that address emerging needs of young people within the community, utilising best practice from across the youth work sector.

● Lead comprehensive design processes for new initiatives, collaborating with lead youth workers, young people, families and community partners to ensure programmes are relevant and effective.

● Create detailed programme frameworks incorporating learning outcomes, delivery models, resource requirements and sustainability strategies.

● Collaborate with the Impact and Evaluation Manager, to analyse data from existing programmes to identify effective practices and areas requiring improvement.

Quality Standards and Continuous Improvement

Funding and Financial

Strategic Funding Development

● Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to identify funding opportunities that support programme development priorities and organisational objectives.

● Contribute to funding applications for new programme areas, ensuring proposals demonstrate clear impact potential and realistic delivery plans.

● Develop comprehensive business cases for programme expansion, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.

● Monitor funding environments and policy developments that may influence programme design.

Financial Administration

● Work with the Finance Controller to ensure high-level financial administration and record keeping, with accountability for project expenditure.

● Maintain clear understanding of AYP's programme budgets and finances, with responsibility for budgeting, monitoring and reporting of assigned budgets.

● Participate in regular budget meetings with the Programme Director and work with the Finance Controller to ensure costs remain within budget.

● Check and approve Lead Youth Workers timesheets for allocated budgets and resolve discrepancies.

Safeguarding and Compliance

● Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and carry out responsibilities in strict accordance with AYP's Safeguarding Policy,

● Work with TACs, PRUs, Police, Early Help Teams, MARFS, LADO etc. where required to ensure safety of all young people, staff and volunteers,

● Act as main point of contact for safeguarding referrals, working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing,

● Maintain comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding practices and current legislation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

· In conjunction with your Line Manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Avenues.

Demand for our specialist tutoring programmes for Children Looked After, those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) continues to increase and we are seeking a dedicated and effective Partnerships Account Manager to join our team and support the increased demand for our provision and the continued scaling of our organisation.

The Organisation

Equal Education is a social enterprise working to improve outcomes and narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and under-resourced learners, including Children Looked After, those with SEND, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We have over 13 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of Schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually. 

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 400 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. What is the Role?

The Partnerships Account Manager will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. With a focus on building and sustaining long-term local council and school relationships, the Partnerships Account Manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, expand our service offerings, and ensure the highest levels of satisfaction. The majority of our key client relationships are with local councils, so a knowledge of how they operate would be very useful.

1. Significant experience in a communications role, ideally within a professional body, academic institution, or non-profit organisation.
2. Excellent written and editorial skills, with the ability to produce compelling, accurate, and audience-appropriate content across different formats and channels.
3. Strong skills in managing digital platforms, including websites (e.g. WordPress), email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and social media (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).

Since the charity’s origins, Caring in Bristol has been powered by the input of hundreds of grass roots volunteers from around Bristol. People give their time and expertise to all our services in different ways, ranging from casual volunteering shifts to long term in-depth consultation about our work in their communities. This role will work across the organisation to build, strengthen, and sustain a strong team of volunteers and community participants to support our strategic priorities. 

The postholder will be responsible for leading on all aspects of our volunteering and community participation programme, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing the assigned budget, as well as recruitment, induction, training, support, engagement and retention of volunteers.

Our Volunteers 

We utilise volunteers and community participants across all areas of our work to support and enrich the work we deliver. It is important to understand the different sets of volunteers we work with: 

Winter – over 400 volunteers come together each winter to run our Caring at Christmas day centre and distribute food deliveries across the city. Caring at Christmas has a legacy of over 30 years and relies on a range of volunteers from highly experienced to completely new to the organisation. Additionally, during particularly cold weather, Caring in Bristol volunteers support emergency shelters in the evenings and mornings. 

Food clubs – a small but committed set of volunteers help deliver our Bristol Goods food support programme. We have a fantastic set of regular volunteers at our Hartcliffe and city-centre food clubs with plans for a new location soon. 

Youth services –our accommodation project launched in July 2024, providing four bedrooms for 18-25 year olds each night. Our youth team also run group sessions throughout the week. Volunteers are needed to provide invaluable support to these activities to ensure the young people feel welcome and comfortable. 

Co-Production and Consultation Participants – our committed group of community members are essential to shaping the way we work, taking their housing knowledge out in the wider community. They are often used as a focus group for housing/policy consultations, supported by our Outreach Worker. This work is established in South Bristol, and we are developing a similar group in North Bristol. 

Community Advocates – This is an exciting area of work we wish to develop and grow over the next year; training up community members on Housing Rights and routes for support, empowering them to share this knowledge, signposting those in need of support so to prevent homelessness. 

Fundraising & Office Volunteers – we often have tasks that volunteers can help with which help the “back office” of the charity. This could include helping to organise events, fundraising activities, stuffing mailing envelopes, stocktaking our food store or offering specialist skills /advice. 

Person Specification 

We expect you to meet most of these criteria. However, we don’t expect you to meet every point and welcome applicants with transferable skills and an ability to apply themselves in a new context. 

• Experience of recruitment or marketing opportunities in the charity sector 

• Experience of leading and motivating a team of volunteers 

• Understanding of co-production approaches and a demonstrable commitment to empowering community members

• Demonstrable knowledge of the motivations for volunteering and the different needs or requirements that volunteers may have 

• Clear understanding of the legalities around volunteer management and health & safety 

• Experience of working in partnership with other groups and organisations in innovative ways to achieve social impact. 

• The ability to build rapport quickly and maintain effective working relationships with a range of very different stakeholders. 

• Persuasive written communication, able to produce copy for news and marketing pieces as well as clear and concise email responses to a very active inbox

Stewardship is seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to head our Philanthropy Fund service. As part of our Leadership Team, you’ll champion biblical generosity, drive innovation, and lead a passionate team delivering exceptional service to high-impact donors.

You will lead a team of ten to deliver the vision for our Philanthropy Fund within Stewardship’s corporate strategy, lead and grow our Donor Advisory Board service, cultivate deep client relationships and expand our reach across philanthropy networks.  Driving income growth, providing data-led insights as well as representing Stewardship at key events. 

You'll need to be an empathetic leader, able to work strategically and collaboratively across teams.  A strong communicator with a passion for innovation and client relationships who is motivated by seeing lives transformed through Christian generosity. 

This is a 12 month, maternity cover role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in income generation within the charity sector. The postholder will lead on our very successful corporate sponsorship programme and will develop our individual giving programme. The role will be an opportunity to develop and lead programmes while being supported by the CEO and Senior Management Team with a chance to make a real impact.
