We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.
This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.
The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.

The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.
Although some pathologists work in laboratories, many work directly with patients in hospitals and the community. Together, they are involved in the majority of all diagnoses and play an important role in disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. If you have ever had a blood test, cervical smear or tissue biopsy, a pathologist will have been involved in your care.

The team acts as the first line of support for members and supporters, responding to enquiries, managing interactions, and deepening engagement with the Ramblers.
This role is instrumental in ensuring a seamless supporter journey, helping to attract, welcome, and retain supporters while providing valuable insights to the organisation to improve supporter experiences. As an ambassador for supporters, the role also contributes to the organisation’s ability to deliver its charitable mission.
Key responsibilities
Supporter Engagement
- Respond to supporter enquiries via phone, letter, email and social media in a timely and professional manner, and with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.
- Triage enquiries, referring complaints, safeguarding and safety matters to the specialists in the organisation and escalating other enquiries as needed to subject-matter experts.
- Listen and respond to the needs of each supporter, understanding their motivations and experiences to foster long-term relationships.
- Acknowledge and thank donations and other payments in a timely and personalised manner.
Payment processing
- Handle and manage the Direct Debit cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing with support from colleagues and finance.
- Provide monthly KPIs related to Direct Debits to Head of Member and Supporter Experience.
- Process and manage in-bound financial payments in an accurate and timely manner, managing any reconciliation as required.
- Investigate and resolve any payment issues, liaising with supporters and the payment processor as needed.
- Support our auditors and finance team on any reconciliation or financial enquiries.
Data integrity and CRM Management
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints in the CRM system in accordance with data protection and Gift Aid Legislation.
- Share key supporter data and insights within the organisation to elevate the supporter voice.
- Support key supporter administration tasks (e.g. welcome pack data send)
Problem-solving and complaints handling
- Investigate and resolve low-level issues or complaints, liaising with other colleagues as required and keep supporters informed throughout the process.
- Handle complex technical enquiries related to our digital tools such as app, website, insight hub.
- Manage feedback and complaints, following established procedure with a focus on turning negative experiences into positive ones.
Volunteer support
- Provide training and support to key volunteers, such as Membership Secretaries, helping them to attract, welcome and retain members.
- Provide support to office volunteers, ensuring they feel values and supported to carry out their tasks effectively.
Continuous improvement
- Input into new digital development to ensure supporters receive value, and to minimise pain points

Role Overview
As a member of the Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet the charity’s strategic objectives. Specifically, they will lead projects and programmes to deliver improvements in quality and standards of health services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. In doing so, they will work closely with not only the Director of Services & Evidence and Heald of Health Services, but also external stakeholders including health and social care organisations, academics, researchers and other charities. The post-holder will also be actively involved in leading, supporting and developing the Health Services team.
About You
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of delivering health service projects and programmes and have come from a health services or medical charity background. You will be adept at developing operational performance metrics, strategies and objectives and have a proven track record in developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders. Whilst not essential, experience of managing and leading a team would be beneficial, as would be an awareness and knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. You will be required to attend two Directorate days each year and occasional face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

In this role you will provide great leadership, inspiration and support to ensure the shop teams (paid colleagues and volunteers) are the very best they can be. You will develop your team to deliver commercial success and be passionate ambassadors for Scope within the local communities.

About The Role
The London Wetland Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Officer to join to the team. This role will help drive visitation to London Wetland Centre, raise brand awareness and increase engagement across social media platforms.

The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers.
The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.
Advice Work
- Carry out assessments to identify urgent needs and appropriate support pathways for members at the Community Wellbeing Service.
- Support outreach or community engagement activities as needed.
- Provide holistic and person-centred advice and casework on the main enquiry areas, particularly welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, immigration and money management.
- Maintain Sufra’s Advice Quality Standards and meeting tangible outcomes.
- Produce detailed case records on our case management system for the purpose of continuity, statistical monitoring and report preparation
- Apply for funds from trusts and foundations to support individuals and families with essential costs such as housing deposits or white-goods and/or cancellation of debts;
