The Youth Support Worker will play a key role in delivering a high standard of youth work supporting young people across a range of needs and interests, ensuring that they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives. 

You will have experience of developing, coordinating and delivering impactful youth activities, and you will be skilled in working with young people from a range of backgrounds who have experienced challenges and barriers to progression in education, family and communities. Disability Sheffield is currently reviewing how we deliver our Community Advocacy work to ensure it is joined-up, fully user-led, representative, accessible and accountable to the community; and ultimately delivers positive change on behalf of our community. To do this effectively we are recruiting a new, senior post that oversees all of Disability Sheffield’s Community Advocacy work on a day-day basis to ensure that our work is as high-quality, consistent and impactful as possible.

This role will directly oversee both the established Sheffield Voices project and the pan-disability / non-LD community advocacy work. It will be a key role in Disability Sheffield’s newly formed senior management team (SMT) and will be the recognised deputy for the CEO in their absence. Some of this is still a work in progress, so initially the role will be about ensuring Sheffield Voices continues to deliver high quality, impactful work whilst starting to develop a more coordinated, effective and visible approach to our pan-disability / non-Learning Disabilities and Autism work.

Role description

As our philanthropy coordinator, you will play a key role in building new partnerships with philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals, with an immediate focus on the UK, US, and Europe. You will design and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a robust portfolio of individual donors, Family Foundations, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other personal giving vehicles. 

A proactive and thoughtful relationship builder, you will maintain long-term relationships and lead bold strategies to engage new audiences, including millennial and next-generation philanthropists. You will steward Open Briefing’s first global development board, working closely with our CEO and director of development to engage members around a dynamic programme of activities designed to make Open Briefing more fundable and findable. 

Together with our director of development, you will drive forward a multi-year fundraising strategy to resource our work with activists and organisations on the frontlines of human rights, social justice, and environmental action. 

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Designing and executing our philanthropy fundraising strategy. Lead a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) —including through Donor Advised Funds, Family Offices, Family Foundations, and other giving vehicles—with an immediate focus on the US, UK and Europe. 

• Prospecting and donor acquisition. Manage HNWI prospecting, generate new leads, develop solicitation plans, brief senior leadership in advance of meetings, and coordinate cultivation and networking opportunities.

• Stewardship and relationship management. Build strong relationships with existing and potential donors through tailored stewardship plans designed to grow income over time. Manage donor tracking and communication systems. 

• Nurture and grow our development board - Work alongside our director of development and CEO to identify and engage members and steward the Board through a 12-month action-orientated development campaign. 

• Budget Management. Manage a programme budget for cultivation and stewardship events and activities.

• Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with our communications coordinator, director of development and programme teams in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing online and in-person events.

• Team support. As a key member of our development and communications team, undertaken other duties as reasonably requested relevant to team and organisational goals. 

Person specification 

Essential 

• You will have extensive experience managing a HNWI or major gift portfolio. 

• You will have a proven track-record of personally securing four, five, or six-figure donations from HNWI and/or major gift donors in the UK, US and/or Europe. 

• You will have experience working within a nonprofit focused on human rights, social justice, and/or environmental action. 

• You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including English language skills, both spoken and written. 

• You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and board members to support fundraising activities. 

• You will have an ability to work both strategically and operationally.

• You will have creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable

• You may have experience working within a global nonprofit. 

• You may have knowledge of the human rights, social justice, environmental justice, and/or international development funding landscape. 

• You may understand grant-making and grant-management processes, especially with respect to private philanthropic funding, including family foundations, DAFs, and Family Offices. 

• You may understand tax-efficient donation mechanisms in the UK, US, and across Europe. 

• You may understand the trends in dynastic giving as well as emerging and next-generation philanthropists.

Terms and remuneration

This is a remote, home-working role. You will be contracted for 40 hours a week on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Flexible working is available and encouraged.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Housing, we are looking for a Head of Maintenance and Estates to lead on the effective delivery of an efficient and customer focused maintenance and estate service across our properties within SIG. Managing a small team, you will focus on management and leadership activities to empower staff to achieve high quality results in the service. You will take oversight of the Maintenance and Estates function, to ensure the smooth running of upkeep and repair operations, working with various teams internally and externally to build sustainable working relationships.

You will have overall responsibility for ensuring policies and processes are up to date and that the way the function is run has continuous improvement. You will lead with creating and implementing a strategic plan, supporting with short to medium to long term objectives. You will work to ensure properties and estates are kept safe, to required standards and lead the team towards achieving the SIG ‘Good Homes’ standard.

About you

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in managing similar repairs and estates services and who is able to lead a team to be empowered to provide a high-quality service. You will be able to to develop and implement maintenance plans, strategies, and procedures, and have confidence to take ownership of your department, making key decisions.

• Management and leadership experience, including with direct line of reports and indirect
• Experience in developing and implementing formal maintenance plans, strategies, and procedures with a key eye to detail
• Experience in directing and delivering customer service functions, ideally in a repairs and maintenance or cleaning context
• Experience in completing and managing risk assessments
• A recognised building services qualification and/or any of the following: NEBOSH, IOSH, Certificate in Occupational Heath and Safety, Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Duty Manager Training, Fire Safety Qualification

About Transport for All

Transport for All is the disabled-led group breaking down barriers and transforming the transport system so disabled people can make the journeys we want, with freedom, dignity, ease and confidence. We work with our members to campaign for change, influencing governments, industry and the public.

Your responsibilities

1. Fundraising strategy (10% of time)

· Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to set and deliver the fundraising strategy.

· Work across teams to identify opportunities to create projects and seek funding.

· Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Report regularly to the Finance Committee and Board.

2. Trust and foundations fundraising (60% of time)

· Work with the Senior Leadership Team to identify projects and core costs for funding and develop realistic budgets.

· Craft compelling applications to secure funding.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key funders.

· Work across teams to ensure continuation funding for existing projects and costs where needed.

· Manage grants from existing trusts and foundations, ensuring grant requirements are met, and reports are on time, accessible and demonstrate impact.

· Manage the trusts and foundations pipeline, keeping up to date records at all times.

3. Database management (20% of time)

· Ensure the CRM supports funding monitoring purposes and staff can use it for this purpose.

· Continually champion and develop the CRM so that it is accessible to all staff and meets the requirements of all teams.

· Work with the Communications and Engagement team to put in place good stewardship of members, advice service users and other contacts via the CRM.

· Put in place supporter journeys that provide excellent stewardship.

4. Wider fundraising (10% of time)

· Explore, test and evaluate wider fundraising opportunities. This could include appeals, corporate fundraising, events, individual giving and legacy giving.

· Support the Training, Research and Consultancy team with bid and proposal writing on an ad hoc basis.

5. General (at all times)

· Undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are in line with the general level of this post and as instructed.

· Undertake occasional evening and weekend work as required, and take responsibility for arranging time off in lieu with your manager.

· Line manage and supervise members, contractors and staff as required.

· Work within the Social Model of Disability.

· Work in adherence to Transport for All’s values and staff policies.

We’re looking for someone who:

About us

The Asylum Reform Initiative (ARI) is an alliance of nine leading national organisations collaborating to secure deep change towards a fair, compassionate and well-managed UK approach to refugees. Central to its strategy has been incubating, launching and backing the broader, public-facing Together With Refugees campaign coalition, now with over 600 national and local member groups from across the refugee sector and beyond. The ARI team provides a dynamic hub that supports Together With Refugees, coordinating the development and delivery of the coalition’s campaign strategy.

About the role

This is a new role. Working closely with the rest of the ARI team, One Strong Voice, and the newly formed Together With Refugees Steering Group, it will play a key part in shaping and delivering the ambitious next phase of the Together With Refugees strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on movement building, strengthening the coalition, and developing the reach, activation levels and effectiveness of the coalition’s grassroots campaign organising to secure changes in policy and practice. At the heart of this is the engagement and leadership of activists with lived experience as refugees, and of member groups that are led by and for refugees – so advancing the goal of a transition to leadership by people with lived experience across the coalition. Key to this work will be building the capacity, effectiveness and impact of the One Strong Voice network to support lived experience campaigners, organisations and leaders at all levels. The Deputy Director will also contribute to wider leadership of the team’s work including fundraising, support for – and accountability to – coalition leadership structures, and effective delivery of the team’s work programme.

About you

The Deputy Director will be a natural collaborator and relationship builder, able to work with diplomacy to drive forward our ambitious strategic aims. You will need ambition, energy and an ability to work at both strategic and more detailed levels. This could be the right opportunity for a range of potential candidates. You could be someone who has led and managed in other issues-based settings, in the asylum and refugee sector, or more broadly. The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.

We are now looking for an Assistant Buyer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36 hours per week.

The Role

As our Assistant Buyer, you’ll support the development of compelling, brand-aligned product ranges across our shop and online platforms.

From product concept to delivery, you’ll help bring seasonal collections to life and ensure they reflect our brand values and meet our customers’ expectations.

Working closely with the Buying and Development Manager, you’ll co-ordinate the product pipeline, track performance, and liaise with suppliers to ensure all seasonal deadlines are met.

You’ll also help maintain stock accuracy, contribute to income forecasting, and support the creation of a transparent and sustainable supply chain.

Additionally, you will:

• Manage product samples and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
• Analyse product performance by category and support remedial actions
• Co-ordinate product launches and promotional activity
• Attend industry events and monitor trends to inform product decisions

About You

To be considered as an Assistant Buyer, you will need:

• Experience gained within a retail buying and product development environment
• Experience of data analysis measuring performance trends and producing reports
• Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team
• The ability to engage with the supply chain in managing terms and conditions and service level agreements
• Strong numerical and analytical skills

We will be offering life skills training to all residents and ongoing support.

CHRISTIAN HOUSE MANAGER

You will have experience in leading a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment.

You will be highly motivated and passionate about the rehabilitation of women leaving prison.

You will be committed to supporting vulnerable women, enabling them to build on their existing strengths to make positive changes in their lives.

You will have overall responsibility for the continuous improvement and consistency of the day-to-day delivery of the project and be responsible for financial planning and have budgetary responsibilities.

You will help to ensure that Grace House becomes a centre of excellence and help set a positive example of the rehabilitation of prison leavers

You will maintain and further the excellent reputation we currently have with our referral prisons to ensure a constant flow of residents, reducing the likelihood of voids.

You will liaise with venue staff where our #SheMatters community courses are run, overseeing a timetable of courses and ensure that all course provision meets the high standards set by ID Grace House UK.

You will have personal experience of running courses with vulnerable and sometimes chaotic women.  The Course Facilitators make up part of the Grace House Team.

You will be responsible for and have experience of fundraising and be willing to work alongside the Imago Dei staff team to ensure the project is financially stable long term. 

You will be willing to undertake on call duties out-of-hours.

KEY TASKS AND DUTIES:

• Ability to motivate, coach and manage the performance of the Grace House Team. To coach the Team on continuous personal development (CPD) and to undertake any qualifications relevant to their role; 

• Ensure robust plans are created in partnership with residents, to support their progression and ensuring their voices are heard;

• Work with the residents of Grace House to help them address habits/choices made which brought them to offend: to assist them in regaining self-esteem, well-being and independence;

• Support the women in every aspect of adjusting to life out of prison, giving both practical and emotional help, and support women as they seek work and permanent housing;

• Lead by example to champion Grace House values, be respectful and compassionate. Manage any behaviour actioned by the Team that does not reflect the values of Grace House and train on the same.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

• Experience of supporting vulnerable women with mental health, substance misuse, domestic violence, challenging behaviours, offending behaviour
• Have CTC Prison Clearance or be willing to complete the vetting and checks for this
• A practicing Christian*
• Experience of managing a team
• Experience of working in the challenging environment of a prison setting or similar
• Experience of facilitating courses with women presenting challenging behaviours.

Desirable 

• Experience with supporting prison leavers.

Role Description

The Family Matters team provide support and information to the families of men under investigation for online paedophile crimes. They are often the hidden victims, facing multiple problems and isolated from help and support.

This Role will provide support to families of those who receive a custodial sentence, liaise with Police, Probation, Court staff and other relevant professionals while supporting service users attending Court Hearings.

Responsibilities

• To work as a member of the Family Matters Team to deliver outcomes for the Family Matters Programme as agreed with The National Lottery Community Fund.
• To provide information and support at a time of crisis to service users.
• To manage a caseload of complex adult client cases, providing client centred, practical and emotional support.
• To conduct risk assessments / case management.
• To offer information and support to family members regarding the Criminal Justice process during investigation, court hearings, sentencing and beyond. 
• To help family members remain informed regarding Child in Need and Child Protection processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

• Experience in direct support work with victims or other vulnerable people including providing emotional and practical support
• Excellent caseworker with good assessment, motivational and empowerment skills
• Organising, prioritising, risk management and problem-solving skills
• Experience of working cooperatively and effectively in a team
• Willingness to be able to work flexible hours when necessary
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills
• PC literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Compassionate towards the individuals the service supports

• Good knowledge of a full range of civil, criminal and practical options available to service users.
• Good knowledge of restorative interventions or ability to learn and use them with appropriate service users.
• Knowledge and skills to operate within a trauma-informed approach.
• Ability to provide non-judgemental, non-directive and confidential support to service users in crisis
• A clear understanding of the gendered nature of some crime types and a clear understanding of how different crime types disproportionately affect different groups of people

• Ability to determine strategies, outcomes and opportunities to develop the role
• Experience and knowledge of exploitation and modern-day slavery, sexual violence and other complex issues.
• Experience of working with diverse groups with multiple complex needs.
• Mental Health Awareness including the impact on an individual and the services available
• Knowledge of domestic abuse.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Leeds Citizens Advice & Law Centre has been providing free and independent advice for more than 80 years, offering access to justice for people experiencing disadvantage or discrimination. In November 2024, we joined the Law Centres Network and have secured funding to expand our legal advice service.

We’re looking for a Solicitor or CILEx to supervise our housing advice team and legal aid contract. The team offers complex casework and representation to clients facing possession, eviction, serious disrepair and housing issues related to DAV and to anti-social behaviour. You will have 3 years’ PQE in housing law and be able to manage a wide range of cases, as well as experience of working under a legal aid contract, supervising caseworkers, and meeting targets.
