Job Title: Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker
Location: Based in Catford in a well connected area near Bellingham, Catford, and Catford Bridge stations, with nearby bus stops. Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.
Salary: £27,000
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota which includes 3 to 4 night shifts a week between 20:00 - 08:30. There may be some flexibility required around these hours as per service requirements.
About the Role
We're looking for a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to cover the night shift in our service based in Lewisham which offers specialist intensive rehabilitation for people who require more enhanced interventions than that which is offered by commissioned community services. We support residents who live with us for up to nine months and have been discharged from acute wards to avoid admission into inpatient rehabilitation. We support our residents to step down into less supported accommodation to become more independent and integrated into the community.
In this role, you will ensure resident safety, wellbeing, and progress towards their recovery goals. You will support in creating an environment where they feel safe and empowered, and are building relationships with relevant partners and individuals key towards their journey. You will create support plans, plan and hold activities, and further support them to achieve greater independence. The night Shift plays a crucial role in continuing the high quality care provided during the day, ensuring a safe, respectful, and responsive environment for residents. night staff are expected to remain awake, alert, and actively engaged throughout their shift. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal for gross misconduct.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Providing night support and supervision across two nearby residential properties.
 - Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
 - Supporting residents in achieving recovery and rehabilitation goals to promote independence.
 - Maintain accurate records and handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts.
 - Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment that promotes positive engagement and progress.
 - Work collaboratively with colleagues and the management team to deliver high quality care.
 - Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift.
 - Complete all routine night duties and any tasks handed over by the day shift or service manager.
 - Key worker responsibilities: complete inductions, support plans, reviews, risk assessments, and welfare checks; update records, monitor access, manage unauthorized visitors, follow missing person protocols, and escalate issues to on call when needed.
 - Health & Safety: carry out property checks, report maintenance issues, keep communal areas clean and safe, and complete required reports (AINMs and others)
 
About You
We’re looking for a resilient and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker, supporting residents to reach their full potential within a flexible, recovery focused service. You’ll provide high quality care, working collaboratively as part of a supportive team that values communication, empathy, and empowerment. You will be able to be proactive and continue supporting our residents even during quieter hours, supporting with ensuring the service runs smoothly and you are actively engaged with the wider team and residents, supporting to achieve the service KPI's.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience working with people with multiple complex backgrounds/needs, mental health, substance misuse, alcohol, and behaviours
 - Previous experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care planning, providing appropriate interventions for service users
 - IT Proficiency; ability to learn new software and basic Microsoft
 - Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
 - Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with various challenging backgrounds, mental health, addiction, exploitation, homelessness, and previous convictions

About the Role

About the role
In this rewarding role right at the heart of our Macmillan Support line, you will work in a busy and varied environment, while providing emotional support and key information to people living with cancer and their loved ones at a time of great need.
Due to the nature of some of the calls and webchats, the role can be challenging at times, so resilience is key. However, it’s extremely fulfilling, to be able to support people who are going through such difficult times.
You will work towards performance goals to help us reach everyone who needs our support while ensuring the level of support we provide is of the highest quality.
 
Shift patterns
Our Support Line is available 365 days a year, including bank holidays from 8am to 8pm and is key to our strategic objective of reaching everyone whilst focusing on those who need the most support.
To cover our service and opening hours you will be required to work a shift pattern including evening and week shift on a 3 week rotation. Please review attachment/main Macmillan advert for a sample rota of what you will be expected to work.
Mid-week days off and the shorter day each week may differ from this sample rota, but will be consistent across your rota. Within the shift times is a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
 
Please note all candidates are subject to a criminal record check for this role. This cost will be covered by Macmillan and all enhancements must be declared prior to the check.
 
This role requires a quiet and private space to work where calls cannot be overheard, and a stable home broadband connection with a minimum of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed. Higher speeds may be necessary depending on system access and telephony requirements.
 
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working in a contact centre environment is essential
 - Experienced in dealing with multiple customer queries and remaining calm under pressure.
 - Experience of speaking confidently to customers via multiple channels; phone, webchat and email.
 - Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management system to record accurately the organisation’s interactions with customers.
 - High levels of resilience and experience of dealing with emotional or impactful content.
 - Experience of working towards goals/KPIs (for example call performance such as average handling times and wrap times).

Job Title: Dual Diagnosis Worker

About the Role
We’re looking for a Dual Diagnosis Worker with expertise in mental health and substance use to join our team in Croydon. Based in a residential service, you’ll support residents with mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you’ll use your specialist knowledge to help both residents and the wider team overcome personal challenges.
You’ll use evidence-based approaches to support recovery, independence, and integration through holistic assessments. As a comorbidity specialist, you’ll guide the team in achieving positive outcomes for residents. Your main duties include:
- Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
 - Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
 - Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
 - Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
 - Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.
 
About You
We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have practical experience and relevant qualifications, and be skilled in engaging reluctant individuals. You must be resilient, proactive, and a strong problem solver to build the trusting relationships essential for this role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small but growing community organisation, comprising nine paid staff and a network of 50 volunteers. If you have a passion for helping those in need, and are a speaker of English plus either Polish or another Eastern European language, this could be the perfect role for you.
As an A10 Project Worker, you will offer advice and support to our service users from EU A10 countries, including Polish speakers, on a range of presenting needs that have led to their homelessness, including but not limited to housing advice, EU Settled Status matters, benefit enquiries and health-related matters.
Working with people to identify support needs, providing opportunities for access to specialist physical and mental health support, access training, gain employment and create sustainable futures is at the centre of what we aim to deliver.
Faith in Action Merton Homelessness Project (FIA) has been serving the Merton community for over 20 years. We offer a twice-weekly Drop-In for the homeless and vulnerably housed in the London Borough of Merton. On Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year, we offer advice and support on a range of homelessness issues.
We provide a safe space where those in our community who are struggling to get by are welcomed, provided with breakfast, hot drinks, a two-course cooked lunch, the chance to take a shower and do their laundry, charge their phone, and access laptops to connect with family or look for work.
In 2022, FIA merged with the Merton Winter Night Shelter (WNS), which provides 14 emergency bed spaces to homeless adults for 16 weeks of the year. FIA's Trustees have overall responsibility for the WNS, with its day-to-day operation overseen by a dedicated WNS team.

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.
Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. About Shooting Star Children’s Hospices
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to join our Care Team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or whose child has died. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
Our Care Events Team provide an extensive programme of groups and events for the 800 life-limited children, their families and bereaved families. There are themed family events, social groups for siblings of different ages, pamper days for mums, counselling groups, bereavement café, memorial days and many festive events such as ice-skating at Hampton Court. Taking place at our hospices and in the communities we serve, there are 5-6 events each week, offering important opportunities for families to make memories together.
About the role
The Care Events Manager is responsible for the delivery and oversight of the annual programme of events. The Care Event Manager leads the Care Events Team, including an Events Assistant, Events Management Intern, Counsellor and care events volunteers, and working with family support workers, children’s therapists and counsellors to deliver an incredible programme of creative and inclusive experiences. The Care Events Manager works alongside the Lead Therapist and Lead Counsellor to ensure that family support at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is everything the children and families need it to be.
At a weekly meeting, the team are made aware of children and family members who are struggling and think together about where they might benefit from the opportunity to spend time with others who share similar experiences or receive group therapy. Utilising professional events management skills, each event is planned meticulously to be a safe and inviting space. Providing this opportunity for families is integral to their mental wellbeing.
About you
This role requires an individual with professional events management experience, with a proven track record of executing high-profile and bespoke events. The individual should have skills in marketing, events administration and able to create events for families from diverse backgrounds. Excellent project management skills are required to keep the fast-paced programme on track, alongside diligence in health and safety. Leadership and management expertise enable the team to thrive, so that we can provide outstanding support to families. The Care Events Manager should be a compassionate and caring individual, sensitive to the needs of families at Shooting Star, with the emotional resilience to work with families who are experiencing grief and trauma. This is a unique opportunity for an events manager to utilise their skillset to make a huge difference to the families that we support.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
 - To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
 - To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients

Kineara has a new vacancy for an experienced Housing support worker to join our small and dedicated team for our new School Housing Advice project.
About the project
The School Housing Advice Support Project builds on the success of a pilot program and aims to provide tailored housing advice and support to families, particularly those living in temporary accommodation (TA). The project started in January 2025 and is currently being delivered at three primary schools in the borough of Southwark.
The initiative offers practical housing advice, casework, workshops, and legal support through a collaborative partnership between Kineara and Southwark Law Centre. It also addresses challenges such as poor housing conditions, legal proceedings, and impacts on families' health and wellbeing.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to parents from four Primary Schools in Southwark. This role involves conducting housing surgeries, providing follow-up casework, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with schools, community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, address suitability of the property, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.
About you
- You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs, as well as some experience of providing housing support.
 - You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change.
 - You will have excellent interpersonal skills.
 - Have good knowledge of housing policies and tenants' rights, experience of delivering holistic support.
