What are we looking for?
Person Specification
Individuals are sought who have a strong empathy with any body image issues and related mental health concerns. Experience, skills and expertise in charity law, an interest in the well-being of people combined with an in-depth understanding of our work and ambitions are particularly sought.
Knowledge, skills and understanding:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of governance experience within a board, ideally in the non-profit sector or a related field.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge: A good understanding of the legal and financial responsibilities of a trustee and experience in risk management, strategic planning, and organisational oversight.
- Commitment: Ability to commit time for board meetings, committee involvement, and preparation work. Expected to attend quarterly board meetings and contribute to special projects as needed.
NB: Ideally you would need to attend quarterly trustee meetings in the Kingston Upon Thames area, but you are able to attend this remotely if required.

Been There is a charity in the form of an app that connects adults with a vetted and trained Mentor to support with their mental health relating to body image issues. We are looking for a lovely Safeguarding Lead to take the reigns.
What will you be doing?
As the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead at Been There to ensure the safety of our service users and volunteers. The role will be remote with the opportunity to meet up too (optional).
As the DDSL, you will:
- Support the DSL and senior team in developing and establishing Been There's approach to safeguarding.
- Help to maintain and review Been There's plan for safeguarding.
- Help coordinate the distribution of policies, procedures and safeguarding resources throughout the charity.
- Support the DSL with training needs and development, providing training where appropriate.
- Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers.
- Help the DSL with safeguarding concerns, allegations or incidents reported to your organisation.
- Support DSL with referrals to key safeguarding agencies (e.g. social services or police) of any incidents or allegations of abuse and harm.
- Help to build an effective safeguarding team

We are looking for a Volunteer On-line Meeting Assistant to support the Head of Area (Central Region) with organising and preparing for monthly and quarterly virtual meetings, and on occasion events or conferences.
You will be remote based at home, with some occasional travel for face-to-face meetings (expenses reimbursed), and ideally will be able to commit up to 4 hours per week to volunteering, during usual office hours Monday to Friday.

The majority of meetings are held virtually on-line via MS Teams. You will support the Head of Area (and meeting Chair) by:

- Take notes of the meeting and share these with attendees, eg, updating SharePoint
- General meeting support, share any slides, launch polls and set up break out rooms as required during virtual meetings
