Job description

At Bromley Y, we are seeking a strategic, innovative and collaborative new Chair who is passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. As Chair, you will lead this established, innovative and highly-regarded charity as it works to deliver on the rising demand for services in Bromley and beyond.

Bromley Y is a long-established Charity based in Bromley which listens to feedback from Children, Young People (CYP), their families and/or carers as well as partner agencies. We are a Mental Health (MH) and Emotional Wellbeing Service based on the principles of IThrive and IAPT. We are very proud of all the services we offer, from 1:1 evidenced based interventions to group work, digital offers, webinars, mentoring and social prescribing.

We are an evolving and growing organisation, with a turnover of £2.8m and 68 staff and counting, with two major Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing contracts, the more recent of which we won a 9-year tender for in 2021. Our most recent Chair, Stuart Robertson, has been with the organisation for several years and has helped guide us through a new tender, the pandemic, expansion and development of the overall service and contributed to the excellent reputation that Bromley Y has in the local area and beyond.

As well as the opportunity to build on this strong foundation, the Chair role offers the opportunity to develop new skills and experiences, as well as providing scope, challenge, and reward, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation's future as it evolves and grows. You'll be part of an innovative, diverse, and inclusive culture that prioritises Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in its business strategy, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
