Role Overview

As the Specialist: Talent Communications, you will shape QuilomboUK’s narrative by designing and delivering impactful internal communications and HR marketing strategies. You’ll craft compelling messaging for talent initiatives (e.g., D&I, wellbeing, performance) and lead the creation of employee newsletters, alumni engagement, and employer branding campaigns. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller passionate about using communication as a tool for social justice and organisational change.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communication Strategy

• Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communication strategy that aligns with HR and business objectives, ensuring clarity, consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Partner with HR, leadership, and cross-functional teams to communicate talent priorities (e.g., DE&I goals, wellbeing programs, performance frameworks).
• Use data-driven insights to refine communication channels for maximum engagement in a remote environment.

Content Creation & Distribution

• Design and distribute monthly newsletters for professionals and alumni ambassadors, highlighting key updates, success stories, and social justice initiatives.
• Create visually engaging content (e.g., infographics, videos, podcasts) to promote talent programs, ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences.
• Maintain an editorial calendar to prioritise timely, mission-aligned messaging.

Talent Initiative Messaging

• Craft clear, inclusive messaging for HR campaigns (e.g., anti-racism training, mental health resources, recognition programs) to drive awareness and participation.
• Embed social justice principles into all communications, ensuring language reflects QuilomboUK’s values and amplifies marginalised voices.
• Develop toolkits for managers to cascade key messages effectively across teams.

HR Marketing & Employer Branding

• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to design an HR marketing strategy that enhances QuilomboUK’s employer brand and attracts diverse talent.
• Produce content for careers pages, social media, and recruitment campaigns that highlight our culture, D&I commitments, and employee stories.
• Analyse retention and engagement metrics to refine messaging that supports talent retention.

D&I Integration

• Ensure all communications reflect QuilomboUK’s DE&I goals, using inclusive language and imagery.
• Partner with ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) to co-create content celebrating diverse identities and perspectives.
• Lead initiatives to educate employees on equity topics through targeted campaigns (e.g., cultural awareness months, disability inclusion).

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in internal communications, HR marketing, or content creation, preferably in DE&I-focused or mission-driven organisations.
• Skills:
• Exceptional copywriting and storytelling abilities for diverse formats (newsletters, scripts, social media).
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and communication platforms (e.g., Google Chat).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence leaders and collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge:
• Understanding of DE&I communication best practices and trauma-informed messaging.

Connection Support has a range of services providing support to people at risk of homelessness or on the edge of needing social care. We work with people made vulnerable through debt, mental health issues, substance misuse, learning disability, and physical disabilities.

Volunteers play a key role in the provision of vital services to our clients.

Could you prevent loneliness and isolation in your community and become a befriender?

• Do you have 2-3 hours a week to give to a client suffering from loneliness or mental health? (For a mutual agreement of time and locations that meet clients’ needs)
• Can you offer support, through a listening ear and be a positive influence in a client’s life to help build self-esteem and confidence?
• Will you enable our clients to benefit from knowing someone is there to listen, be a friend, and check in on their wellbeing?

Key responsibilities

Your role will include, but is not restricted to the following tasks:

• Carry out weekly checks with the clients you are supporting. This can be in a variety of settings, e.g., family home, support home, or in the community (via face-to-face meetings, phone or video calls)
• Have fun, take clients on outings, and maybe share a hobby, sport, or an interest
• Collect prescriptions for clients and assist with their weekly shop
• Help clients rediscover social skills and confidence by building up and maintaining a close relationship
• Report any concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and engaging tutors to provide educational support to primary aged pupils in Maths and English and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with long-term illnesses.

What will you be doing? 

• Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person. 

• Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS1 and KS2 Maths and English.

• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.
• If you have a personal link to sight loss, sharing your experience during the session to help give a tangible example of how local people can make a real difference.
• Telling us about any activities you have engaged in via a Microsoft form.

• First-hand experience in grassroots community engagement & charity outreach.

About the role?

Our Trustees play a critical role in the organisation, helping set the strategy and review progress in relation to it, providing support, challenge and expertise to the Chief Executive and Directors.

A Trustee plays an essential role in seeking to maximise VoiceAbility’s positive impact as well as to stretch and hold to account the Chief Executive.

The role also has ultimate responsibility for the compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring that the organisation acts in line with its charitable objectives and is financially stable. Trustees work as a team, applying good judgement and taking collective responsibility.

About you

We are looking for a Trustee with sound independent judgement, strategic vision and the ability to think creatively.  You will embody the organisations values and act in the best interests of the charity at all times. 

You will be engaged and motivated by the work of VoiceAbility and be able to build strong relationships and have experience of working as a non-Executive director or Trustee; however, lived experience is equally important.

We are seeking to recruit Trustees who bring Expertise in Finance, Safeguarding, Human Resources, Commercial and Operational Delivery.

Time commitment

Approximately one day per month.  Please note that this time commitment will be spread across multiple days and is likely to be cyclical.

There are four board meetings per annum.  Board meetings tend to be online, but face-to-face, or hybrid meetings may take place from time to time.  There would also be a commitment of two to four committee meetings per annum, a board strategy or development day and site visits.  Each trustee will also belong to at least one committee.

Family Friends carefully recruits, trains, and matches volunteers with families in Central-West London. Our befriending volunteers offer long-term practical and emotional support based on each family's unique needs and potential. We offer two befriending volunteer opportunities with us-, Big Buddies and Parent Buddies.

Our Big Buddies support young people, aged 10-18, for a few hours each week over a period of up to 12 months. With encouragement and support, volunteers will aim to help young people to discover their strengths and build confidence.

Support may look like:

• Helping to strengthen family relationships.
• Providing a listening ear 
• Taking young person to the cinema, museums, libraries - broadening their horizons!

Essential Criteria:

• Can commit to the Big Buddies programme for a minimum of 6 months
• 18+
• Must have lived in the UK for the last 2 years
