Their homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and their staff can enjoy coming to work. Your role will involve working with their young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks, shopping, building positive relationships and general life skills. They always encourage their young people and staff to bring their hobbies and knowledge into the home whether this be knitting, fitness, cooking or even singing so there is never a dull moment.
Part of the role will be managing various levels of self-harm using a least restrictive approach, so you will require a high level of resilience and have a caring, compassionate nature. You will also be required to update online care records and complete medication administration. In addition, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the home ensuring the young people live in homely environment.
Previous care experience is not essential and full training will be provided. All their staff will be supported to achieve their Level 3 in Adult Care. You will also receive ongoing support and mentoring from their friendly residential and clinical team.

Under direction of a session leader you will provide support and guidance to small groups of students providing intervention support with their learning programmes, communication systems and learning environments. You will provide 1-1 support for SEND students.
Proactive in completing assessments of students’ progress and contributing to planning and review of processes you will communicate effectively with parents, carers and others ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Supporting teaching staff to plan lessons and evaluate learning, you will write reports and maintain records using college information and recording systems as required. Dad Matters Co-ordinator & Project Lead
Part-time: 25 hours/wk
NJC Scale SO2/26 (FTE £33,018.71). Actual salary £22,309.94.
Post initially funded for 12 months, continuation subject to funding
This position will be home-based - with travel across Elmbridge, Runnymede and Woking, Epsom, Ewell & Banstead.
Due to the success of the Dad Matters programme in other parts of the country, we are working in partnership across north Surrey to establish the programme in our areas. We are looking for a Dad Matters Co-ordinator to join our team and develop local universal and targeted interventions for dads in the perinatal period. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from Parent Infant Mental Health Services and with colleagues from Maternity, Health Visiting, and Children’s Services and with a wide range of dads and dads-to-be. They will develop our Dad Matters volunteering opportunities in both areas, will facilitate and co-facilitate sessions with dads and will develop links with other VCSE and community groups.
An understanding of the risks of developing poor mental health in the perinatal period for dads and of the impact of supporting a partner with perinatal mental health issues is essential, as is a flexible approach to work and ability to travel across the boroughs of Woking, Runnymede, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Banstead.
