About Sophie Hayes Foundation

Sophie Hayes Foundation is a small but mighty charity supporting women survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking as they rebuild their independent lives, free from re exploitation for the long-term.

We provide an employability programme which enables survivors to rediscover their skills, build their confidence and sense of purpose, develop workplace skills, and open up opportunities for work placements or volunteering. We also offer a conversational English course, a digital skills programme, and run a survivor network CREW (Creative Resilient Empowered Women).

We do all we can to meet survivors where they are in a complex system, flexing and adapting to need as it arises. We also do not accept a system which fails survivors, leaving them at risk of re-exploitation, and engage in policy and advocacy campaigns based on our lived and learnt experience.

About the Role

We can’t do any of this work without brilliant and concerted fundraising efforts. SHF is independent and relies on funds from grant-making bodies, individuals, and businesses in our supporter community.

This role will be at the forefront of the realisation of SHF’s bold strategic ambitions. You will work alongside our small and dynamic executive team to unlock growth, develop new approaches and communicate our impact.

You will build a lead small, effective and positive fundraising and communications team.

You will develop deep and meaningful relationships with the individuals and organisations while support SHF’s work – and new supporters we have not met yet.

You will be hands on, getting stuck into grant applications, prospecting, communicating, and developing new engagement programmes.

We know small charity fundraising is no mean feat – you will get all the support and engagement you need from the SHF team and Board to do you very best work, in a hugely meaningful context.

You will have the opportunity to get involved in any and all parts of the organisation’s work, including policy advocacy, lived and learnt experience co-design, research and service delivery.

Objectives

FUNDRAISING

• Leadership of successful portfolio of grant funding, including stewardship of existing funders, and growth to new ones through high quality applications and proactive identification of opportunities.
• Development and implementation of income generation and diversification strategies, most particularly through major donors programme and corporate partnerships.
• Working alongside Executive team to develop programmes enabling new sources of funding to be opened up.
• Building close relationship with existing supporters and using network to significantly expand network and prospects, through supporter engagement journeys.
• Ensuring all fundraising activity is in line with the required legislative frameworks and complies with best practice.

COMMUNICATIONS

• Developing the charity’s existing communications efforts into a coordinated, coherent, and impactful strategy, across all communications channels and traditional and social media.
• Developing and implement opportunities to raise the charity’s profile and engagement.
• Working alongside team members to develop and publicise the charity’s policy and advocacy activities, creating and leading innovative communications campaigns.
• Overseeing the production of all branded materials.
• Overseeing the charity’s duty of care to participants who share their stories, ensuring we approach this with due care and sensitivity, working with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

MANAGEMENT 

• Managing and monitoring all parts of income generation and communications, especially high-quality impact reporting.
• Managing fundraising budget – setting budgets, reporting against them, managing funds, reporting to Board risk & finance committee on fundraising.
• Building a highly effective small team of 2-3 people – outcome-focused and empathetic line management of team members.
• Contributing as key member of Senior Executive Team to organisational strategy and decision-making.
• Acting as a senior leader and figurehead within the charity for all parts of development and fundraising.
• Working closely alongside the Board to unlock potential for income generation and communications.
• Undertaking any other duties as directed by the CEO which may be required. Experience & Skills
• Significant success and experience of impactful charitable fundraising from a diverse range of income streams, especially grants, major donors, and corporates. Or comparable experience of business development in another sector.
• Experience of communications campaigns, PR and marketing.
• Convincing and engaging written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build excellent collaborative working relationships across a wide range of people; colleagues, external partners and funders.
• Highly organised. Ability to prioritise workloads, project manage and deliver to deadlines, often with competing priorities.
• A knowledge of the Modern Slavery sector & trauma-informed practices is desired but not essential, but a commitment to the vision, purpose, and values of Sophie Hayes Foundation is important.
• Effective line management skills and ability to deliver alongside and through small team.
• Positive, creative, entrepreneurial, and solutions-focused.
• Proactive, dynamic, able to work effectively independently. 

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights and feminist
organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to
supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to
violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls,
exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs, and
facing barriers to social protection.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of LAWRS’
policy, advocacy, and communications strategy to tackle the issues affecting migrant women in
the UK labour market, in particular those who are survivors of trafficking and exploitation, and
will work jointly with LAWRS’ policy team and the frontline teams.

This post is open to Latin American women only* in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. We

underrepresented within the team.

Senior Policy Adviser

- Based at: CARE, 53 Romney Street, London, SW1P 3RF (option of a hybrid working)

- Salary: £38,000 - £43,000pa dependent on experience

We are looking for a new Senior Policy Adviser to join our team at CARE. For 40 years and more, CARE’s Policy Team has worked with parliamentarians to inspire legislation that is good and godly, valuing human life and dignity as infinitely precious. Most recently, though our work on the Online Safety Act, we have helped to protect children and young people from online harm and through the current Crime & Policing Bill, to protect women and girls from the destructive impact of porn.

Our vision is to see politics renewed and lives transformed and we do this by telling God’s better story to a broken world. There are three core activities at CARE:

1. Equipping politicians through a relational approach where we provide well researched briefings and advice.
2. Engaging the church by producing relevant resources on a wide range of topics to serve church leaders and congregations.
3. Empowering future leaders through our highly regarded Leadership Programme.

About the Role

The role majors on enhancing CARE’s policy work and reputation in the public square. This will be achieved through proactive engagement with the UK’s Parliaments, equipping and informing CARE’s supporters, the church and wider public.

Our Senior Policy Adviser will be part of developing, advocating and leading on the formation and pursuit of policy in line with CARE’s objectives and strategy.

The post holder will be responsible, under the Senior Policy Manager, for helping to further CARE’s policy and public affairs objectives in a variety of ways.

Caseworker - Sexual Violence

Location: Aylesbury (Hybrid)

Role Description

To provide holistic support to anyone who has experienced sexual violence and to identify and engage with these individuals on a one-to-one basis, enabling them to access services and make positive, empowering choices. 

Responsibilities:

• To provide support to service users who have experienced sexual violence.
• To provide support to the facilitation of group work within the service.
• To provide group work interventions on a 1-2-1 basis where the service user is unable to access groups.
• To lead on providing service users information sessions and informal group activities / events.
• To independently manage a small caseload of adult client cases, providing practical and emotional support.
• To conduct risk assessments, do case management and safety planning in partnership with other key agencies.
• To advocate in a range of settings on behalf of the service user and working towards them being their own best advocate.
• To help service users to make informed choices about their future options.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential:

• Experience of direct support work with victims or other vulnerable people including providing emotional and practical support.
• Excellent Caseworker with good assessment, motivational and empowerment skills.
• Organising, prioritising, risk management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of working cooperatively and effectively in a team.
• Willingness to be able to work flexible hours when necessary and be part of an on-call rota.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills.
• PC literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Compassionate towards the individuals the service supports.
• A driving licence and own transport.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in diverse settings and with people with diverse needs.
• Good knowledge of a full range of civil, criminal and practical options available to service users.
• Good knowledge of restorative interventions or ability to learn them and make use of them with appropriate service users.
• Knowledge and skills to operate within a trauma informed approach.
• Ability to provide non-judgemental, non-directive and confidential support to service users in crisis.
• A clear understanding of the gendered nature of some crime types, and a clear understanding of how different crime types disproportionately affect different groups of people.
• A commitment to working within an equality and diversity framework and an awareness of barriers to accessing support.

Desirable:

• Ability to determine strategies, outcomes and opportunities to develop the role.
• Experience and knowledge of exploitation and modern-day slavery, sexual violence and other complex issues.
• Experience of working with groups with multiple complex needs.
• Mental Health Awareness including the impact on an individual and the services available.
• Have an ISVA qualification or be prepared to undertake training.
• Knowledge of domestic abuse – at least level 2 DASH training.
• Awareness of differing counselling approaches.

For this role you will also need:

• The ability to travel within Thames Valley and occasionally the surrounding areas.
• To be free from any criminal conviction which would conflict with the responsibilities of the post. You will be required to have a DBS Enhanced disclosure or a portable DBS.

Role Description

The Family Matters team provides emotional support, information, and guidance to the families (e.g. partners, parents, adult children, grandparents) of those under investigation for online child sexual abuse offences.

They are often the hidden victims of crime, facing multiple problems and isolated from sources of help and support. This role provides one to one support to family members over the phone, supporting clients with attending Court hearings, liaising with relevant professionals, and advocating for clients where necessary. 

Responsibilities:

• To work as a member of the Family Matters Team to deliver outcomes for the Family Matters Programme as agreed with The National Lottery Community Fund.
• To provide information and Trauma informed support at a time of crisis to service users.
• To manage a caseload of complex adult client cases, providing client centred, practical and emotional support.
• To conduct risk assessments / case management.
• To offer information and support to family members regarding the Criminal Justice process during investigation, court hearings, sentencing and beyond.
• To help family members remain informed regarding Child in Need and Child Protection processes.

Stella Maris UK is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of International Programmes to drive delivery of our international strategy and strengthen our global network.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for building strong relationships with international partners, identifying programme opportunities, and securing sustainable funding from corporates, trusts and foundations. The role will oversee the development and delivery of high-impact projects, ensure effective grant management and reporting, and support capacity building across the global Stella Maris network.

The role requires regular international travel to build partnerships, support programme delivery, and represent Stella Maris at meetings, conferences and network events.
