While this role covers all our External Affairs functions, you'll be particularly expected to have knowledge and expertise in providing leadership in policy-influencing and campaigns. You'll provide leadership of AaA's External Affairs strategy to ensure the needs of autistic children and their families are high on the political and media agenda.

You'll have an externally-facing role in policy influencing, representing AaA in coalitions with relevant government departments among parliamentarians, as well as increasing AaA's profile through an effective communications strategy.

• Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding of the policy landscape, including political and legislative processes, and local government structures and processes

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Act as the main point of contact for visitors to Headway East London.
2. Manage external communications through post, telephone, and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
3. Undertake regular checks of the office space so it stays organised.
4. Manage the organisational online calendars and the relevant databases and spreadsheets ensuring these are all up to date.
5. Support managers to keep staff rotas up to date, ensuring efficient and effective use of staff time.
6. Manage day service transport bookings daily and keep day service staff informed.
7. Process referral forms for all services ensuring that they are fully complete.
8. Work closely with Service leads to manage service waiting list and liaise with referees where necessary.
9. Work with service leads to provide administrative assistance to support the smooth running of services.
10. Work closely with the Admin and Premises Manager to ensure data collection systems and the Charity Log database function efficiently, are accurate, and are up to date.
11. Support the finance function with administrative tasks as necessary.

The Role

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, you be responsible for generating and maximising income related to community supporter led events and initiatives.  

The person will: 

· Provide excellent stewardship, on-going support and motivation to supporters organising their own ‘in aid of’ Leeds Hospitals Charity fundraising and those taking part in ‘own place’ events.

· Identify, establish, and manage new fundraising volunteer groups who will help support the charity through their own fundraising and contacts including volunteers who will support the community fundraising function.

· Work alongside other fundraising colleagues across the charity to help deliver team income streams (e.g. hospital fundraising, legacies, individual giving, events).

· Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure supporter led events receive adequate PR coverage and are planned into the charity’s communications calendar.

The successful candidate will have:

· Good communication and presentation skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.

· Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload.

· It is desirable, but not essential to have experience of stewarding charity supporters and volunteer fundraising groups or similar.

About the role

It’s an exciting time to join CXK as we continue to expand our reach and launch our new 5-year strategy.

We are searching for a Head of Bids, Grants and Tenders to work within our Development and Partnerships Team. This exciting new role will be responsible for writing and submitting compelling bids and proposals that clearly align to CXK’s strategic and operational vision, meeting the needs of our commissioners and funders.

The role will drive income generation and growth for the charity, creating high-quality tender responses on a regular basis, developing a pipeline of current and potential opportunities and proactively ensuring that all business development systems and processes are fully implemented.

As part of our Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Bids, Grants and Tenders will contribute to the strategic development of CXK, working closely with the Director of Development and Partnerships, our service leads, and the wider Senior Leadership Team.

This role will require exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling content aligned to a specification, with a proven track record of successfully responding to complex tender opportunities, and grant submissions.
