About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, managing and evaluating senior stakeholder relationships with external networks. With a proven track record of consistently delivering projects and programmes with high-quality results, the successful candidate will have up to date ED&I knowledge and demonstrable experience of raising the profile of an organisation within this setting.  The candidate will be experienced in development of programmes and partnerships to suit delivery of strategic objectives, and be able to project manage internal colleagues to deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.
• Maintain WorldSkills UK’s established management policies for dealing with risks and issues for the Corporate Partnerships team and the wider organisation.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

25 days’ annual leave [which will increase by one additional day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 30 days] plus public and bank holidays.

JOB PURPOSE 

UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an ambitious and proactive Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy team. 

In this exciting role, you will lead on the management of a number of our existing and new relationships with companies to create and grow mutually beneficial, multi-year partnerships, playing a key part in the success of our annual fundraising programme. You will enjoy developing strong relationships and have excellent communication and problem- solving skills. You will be a confident communicator with a track record of meeting and exceeding financial targets. 

You will line manage the PPH Coordinator, with responsibility for managing performance and supporting their development.

This role is predominately an account management post, with some new business development.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES 

• Lead on the management of a number of high value strategic corporate partnerships, liaising across departments and virtual teams to monitor, evaluate and report on progress against partnership KPIs, targets, activities and budgets. 
• Develop annual and multi-year budgets and plans for partners. 
• Identify opportunities for partnership visibility and communications, and where possible employee engagement. 
• Manage a portfolio of partnerships, providing first-class relationship management and maximising value, including financial, advocacy, pro bono and in-kind support. 
• Work with existing corporate engagement products and develop new employee fundraising ideas. 
• Research new trends and innovations and emerging areas of interest for corporate partners. 
• Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying and responding to fundraising opportunities. 
• Initiate, organise and coordinate a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events and identify visibility opportunities for UK for UNHCR. 
• Manage the PPH Coordinator, ensuring they are develop and supported to deliver on performance targets. 
• Collaborate with UK and international Private Partnerships & Philanthropy colleagues where possible to strengthen engagement with partners and prospects across channels. 
• Work within UK4U’s due diligence policy and GDPR policies and processes. 
• Support new business prospecting, research and cultivation. 
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate data on donors on Salesforce and SharePoint

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience 

• A track record of developing partnerships and managing relationships with corporate partners to deliver high value, muti-year corporate partnership(s). 
• A track record of devising and delivering bespoke and engaging partnership fundraising plans and campaigns to grow income and engagement. 
• Experience of communicating complex themes and subjects to a variety of audiences, written and verbal in an engaging and motivating way. 
• Experience of event management and co-ordination to engage corporates and their employees

Main areas of responsibility

This is a key senior role within the Fundraising Directorate, collaborating closely with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business the Fundraising Leadership Team to grow income and awareness from corporate sources.

Role: Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Reporting to: Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Purpose of job: To work as a key part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, line managed by the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, and accountable to the Museum’s Director. This role will bring in vital income from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individuals to deliver the business plan. This role has responsibility for achieving income targets by collaborating across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support.
Working pattern: 35 hours per week, usually worked from 10 – 6pm. Flexible/hybrid working offered for up 40% of hours to be worked from home.

Key objectives in first 6 months:

• Established position as a trusted and valued colleague within the Museum team

Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Identification, Communication and Cultivation

• Identify, research and develop a pipeline of trusts and foundations prospects, ensuring that relationships are well managed and planned for first, second and third requests for funding, as appropriate.
• Identify, research and approach corporate partnership prospects to support agreed priorities such as exhibitions and programmes
• Work closely with colleagues in Events, Commercial and Communications to promote corporate sponsorship packages, including working on communications and campaigns that encourage uptake and renewal

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. Across a year the team raises vital income for exhibitions, learning and participation activities, events, capital projects, an established endowment fund and unrestricted revenue income.

Role Purpose

The main purpose of the programmes team is to grow, develop and deliver all aspects of the day-to-day relationship management of:

· Schools and colleges running the Career Ready programme

Each Regional Manager is responsible for a local patch which currently typically consists of 5-6 schools or colleges, up to 100 students and 4-5 operational relationships with our corporate partners. Regional Managers will also be responsible for building and maintaining a local network of employer supporters and seeking opportunities for new employer support ..

There will be opportunities to be creative, as well as being autonomous in how you run and develop the programme with the Career Ready schools and colleges in your area.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities

Centre Management and Student Support

· You will work 1:1 with our community of school/college coordinators in your region to support them in delivering the programme. This will require regular meetings and communication, to support coordinators with the planning and managing of masterclasses, workplace visits and other Career Ready events for students and volunteers

· Regularly communicate and report to the Head of Programmes  

· Execute our strategy across the region

· Support schools and colleges in programme onboarding (students and mentors) and delivery of paid internships

· From time to time there may be a need to deliver sessions to skills and careers leads and to groups of young people within the school and college setting

· Recruit new schools and colleges to the network from the region in accordance with priority target areas. Manage their induction, training, activities prior to launch and implementation of the Career Ready programme

· Assist schools and colleges on our programmes to plan, manage and run events (i.e. icebreakers, launches, or student promotion sessions) and be prepared to present at such events.

Partnership Management, Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development

· Day-to-day operational account management for employer supporters, ensuring they have excellent experiences.

o Directly pursuing a prioritised list of prospect funders in your region in line with our organisational strategy. This work will be supported by Partnership Managers and Head of Programmes  

o Using our SME Internship Investment Fund, seek small and medium sized businesses to provide a mentor and host an intern, seeking as much match funding as possible (e.g., we pay for 1 internship and you pay for 1; 50% of internship funded_

o Support engagement, experience and deliver on the programme commitments to corporate partners in your area.

o Support the Head of Programmes and Partnership Manager with programme reporting requirements specific to corporate partners, trusts and foundations

General

The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global news and information services company. As an independent charity we work to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights. We combine our unique media development and legal services to drive systemic change through news, capacity strengthening, free legal assistance, and convening initiatives.

TRF provides a Secretariat function to the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC). The MFC is a partnership of 50 countries from six continents working together to advocate for media freedom and the safety of journalists at home and abroad. The MFC works closely with civil society and a panel of legal experts, among others, to promote media freedom through a range of activities – including public and private diplomacy to support journalists at risk, coordinated action through embassies, events and the promotion of legal reforms. The MFC was established in 2019 while the Secretariat was established in 2022. More information about the MFC can be found here.

The MFC Secretariat plays a central role in maximising the impact of the Coalition. It does this in four areas:

• Administration and operations: delivering specific activities including events and briefings; supporting and coordinating responses to cases of concern (in which journalists and news organisations are facing threats to their reporting); supporting embassies to act on media freedom; organizing meetings and maintaining the MFC’s network of contacts;

We are seeking a creative and resourceful Communications Manager to join our team. You will lead on the Secretariat’s communications function, both internally and externally, and will implement (and potentially improve on) our existing communications strategy. For the MFC, effective communications are not only about demonstrating the Coalition’s impact, they are also a way of encouraging and inspiring MFC member countries and their embassies to take action on media freedom. This means the Coalition’s communications are an essential component of its pathway to impact.

You will be required to engage with government representatives, diplomats, NGO leaders and some of the world’s finest legal practitioners as part of this role. You will look across the Coalition’s work and develop relationships with member countries and their embassies to identify human-centred stories that showcase the MFC’s work. The ideal candidate will be skilled at turning issues into stories and comfortable with taking the initiative and taking ownership of this area of the Secretariat’s work.

The role is based in Canary Wharf in London. The role is full time and you would be expected to attend TRF’s offices two or more days per week.

About The Role

As the Communications Manager you will:

• Research, develop, edit and write communications materials including impact stories and case studies for the MFC’s website and potentially other platforms, using multimedia options where appropriate

• Lead on the implementation of the MFC’s communications strategy, potentially making improvements to this, and tracking key performance indicators accordingly

Effective communication skills are key, enabling you to engage with supporters and stakeholders, ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.

A distinctive aspect of this role lies in the unique Poppy Appeal activity. Beyond managing relationships and budgets, you'll recruit and induct new Poppy Appeal Organisers, ensuring they have the tools and resources for success. Planning and coordinating the Poppy Appeal launch, including PR and media activities, contribute to the appeal's overall impact.

Your role also involves representing Royal British Legion locally, engaging in outreach activities, and providing updates to key stakeholders. Flexibility is essential, as some evenings, weekends, and overnight stays may be required. The successful candidate will embody the values of the Royal British Legion, demonstrating empathy with its mission and objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess commercial knowledge, financial management skills, and experience in supporter relationship management. Strong planning, organizational, and IT skills are necessary, as is the ability to assess the commercial implications of decisions. The role demands a team player who can engage with diverse client groups, showcasing effective communication skills both in writing and verbally.

You will be expected to travel regularly in the course of your work including regularly round North East London. You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House, where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week – when not travelling.
