National dementia friendly communities manager jobs
How's your job search on our site?
At Community Connections Lewisham we are passionate about helping Lewisham residents (aged 18+) improve their health and wellbeing through discovering what exists in their own community, and becoming more able to access it. We aim to tackle the problems of social isolation and loneliness by using a person-centred approach. This means we recognise that each person we support has their own unique story, with their own particular challenges, needs, and personal goals.
Partnership Coordinators are the face of the Community Connections Lewisham team. They provide valuable support to both clients and professionals by running the phoneline, giving guidance and advice on a wide range of topics by referring or signposting to relevant services that are available in the community. They play a crucial role in the triaging, coordination and effective administration of the entire Community Connections project and acting as a front door service to the rest of the voluntary sector.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Head of Talent, Ambassadors and Influencer Relationships to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role, however there is a requirement to travel to London on a regular basis to attend in-person networking events and meetings with donors, key stakeholders and team members.
As Head of Talent, Ambassadors and Influencer Relationships, you will be responsible for harnessing the power of public figures and sport to drive long-term engagement, profile, and impact. You will achieve this by identifying, securing, and managing relationships with celebrity supporters, ambassadors, and influencers, whilst also building and maintaining positive relationships with agents, managers, and representatives.
In this new senior leadership role, you will lead and manage a specialist team, whilst also working collaboratively with key internal teams and stakeholders to create high-impact moments and campaigns that increase engagement, relevance, and organisational fame.
You will lead a joined-up strategy across celebrity talent, ambassadors, sport organisations, and broadcasters with the aim of developing a credible, high-performing network of public figures who authentically champion our mission and enhance the national profile and public support for the Society. Through bold, high-profile activations and trusted partnerships, you will connect new and diverse audiences to the organisation’s mission, values, and campaigns.
First round interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place via MS Teams on Friday 1st May. Second round will be held in person.
About you
Joining us, you’ll have significant experience in talent relationship management, celebrity engagement, or ambassador strategy, ideally within culture, sport, media, or mission-driven organisations. You’ll have experience of using your entrepreneurial mindset and commercial awareness to build and shape new areas of work and you’ll have a track record of successfully using your initiative and your ability to think strategically to identify new opportunities.
Crucially, you’ll have a proven ability to manage high-profile relationships and complex external partnerships. You’ll be a highly effective networker and relationship-builder, with the emotional intelligence, negotiation and communication skills required to establish long-lasting partnerships. You’ll also have experience of successfully leading a team and building a proactive and positive, solutions-focussed team culture.
What you’ll focus on:
- Developing and delivering an integrated strategy for talent, ambassadors, influencers and sport partnerships that supports organisational priorities, campaigns, and growth.
- Defining how the organisation works with influential figures — from entertainers to athletes — to maximise reach, credibility, and public engagement.
- Leading and manage a small specialist team, while working closely with campaigns, media, fundraising, digital, and policy and influencing colleagues.
- Identifying, securing, and managing relationships with celebrity supporters, ambassadors, and influencers, aligned to clear objectives and outcomes.
- Designing and growing a structured, diverse ambassador programme that amplifies lived experience and authentic storytelling to deliver profile and credibility for the Society.
- Developing strategic partnerships with sport’s governing bodies, clubs, leagues, broadcasters, and sport talent to deliver national reach and impact.
- Acting as a connector between sport and mission, identifying shared values and long-term collaboration opportunities.
About Alzheimer's Society - who are we and what’s our mission?
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
At Alzheimer’s Society, we’re the UK’s leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding ground-breaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.
Together with our supporters, we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. Our values make sure that our focus is clear for the challenges and opportunities ahead and remind us of what we all stand for.
Our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
We need to ensure the voices around our table better reflect and understand the communities we exist to serve. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who have a disability, impairment or health condition or individuals who identify as part of a minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented at Alzheimer's Society.
Our hiring process
We want you to bring your whole self to the process. Applications are anonymised until interview stage, and we’re happy to support any adjustments. Share your feedback via our candidate survey when applying to help us improve. We may close early if we receive high interest (with 48 hours’ notice). Some roles may require a DBS check as part of our safer recruitment commitment. Thinking about using AI during the recruitment process? We know this can be helpful in many ways but remember to include your personal and authentic self too. Your voice and experience are what really set you apart.
Giving back to you
At Alzheimer’s Society, we value our people and take a total reward approach to pay and benefits. You’ll enjoy a generous double-matched pension scheme, 27 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays and wellbeing days), and access to a free Health Shield Cash Plan, 24/7 EAP, Thrive mental wellbeing support, and virtual GP services. Our Society Plus platform offers exclusive discounts, wellbeing resources, and recognition schemes, while our flexible working, family-friendly policies, and life assurance provide peace of mind and work/life balance. We also offer a free Will-writing service and long service awards to recognise your ongoing commitment.
