This unique position will contribute to the strategic development of the charity, allowing the right individual to bring expertise from previous roles to expand external partnerships and influence.  Keychange is a Christian Charity working in elderly social care and homeless communities.  Keychange provides care, support, development, and well-being services across nine sites in England, consisting of seven residential Care Homes for older people and two Housing Communities for young people, with an additional housing site in development. Our office in London provides a support function of central services to our communities to enable them to operate at the most effective level with a focus on delivering quality care and support.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships reports to the CEO and is a part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) along with the Director of Finance, the Director of Operations and Facilities Business Manager.  The SLT is responsible for the leadership, culture and oversight of Keychange in the Central Office and Community Sites.

• Driving external partnership growth, including instigating national and local partnerships

Community Fundraising Manager

The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser,  dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.

Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.

Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. You will research, identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities, areas of potential support and build a robust pipeline for restricted grants and corporate partners.

The role is home based. There will be travel around the areas that the role covers.

This position is a permanent, full-time role to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The nature of community fundraising is that there will be evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee the delivery of our Regular Giving programmes and will also manage relationships with high-level donors to identify and securing major gifts.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive acquisition, retention and growth of Individual Giving at all levels with a particular view to growing unrestricted income from this stream.
• Develop and deliver inspiring Regular Giving appeals, understanding the key motivations of our supporters and in line with the strategic objectives of the organisation.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network. 

We are looking for someone who has experience of either operational or operational and strategic management skills, with a proven track record of leading, delivering and developing projects or services.

Job Summary

The Haringey Community Alliance Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Alliance team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.

We envisage the Haringey Community Alliance Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.

Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. The post holder has lead responsibility for developing the Annual Work Programme, performance management and reporting against the targets and milestones in the Contract.

Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This would include leading the shaping and delivery of a Capacity Building strategy; representing the VCS Alliance at stakeholder meetings and influencing key stakeholders to better support Haringey’s VCS; as well as growing the reach and impact of the Capacity Building service by engaging new funders and partners.

The Programme Manager role is responsible for developing strategies within our healthcare funding areas and looking after a large, diverse and varied portfolio of grants. This includes a mixture of working closely with applicants to shape larger strategic research and fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding. This role will work with grants in the technology, research and innovation, medical equipment and healthcare transformation space. The post holder will work closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital and its academic partner the Institute of Child Health in UCL, to support funding and management of grants, giving an opportunity to expand and develop your research management skills to that in clinical, NHS setting, whilst seeing the real-life impact the funding makes for our beneficiaries. 
 
About the Team
This exciting role sits within the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department. The Department is responsible for ensuring charitable funding supports the highest quality projects within our funding priority areas of: research; patient and family experience; technology and medical equipment; hospital staff support; education; and environment (through supporting redevelopment projects and capital builds). The department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating funded projects to ensure greatest impact, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the charity funds.

About You
You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and /or research management experience and be confident operating independently to develop and take projects forward. You will also develop excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.
 
Specifically, you will have:

- An advanced research degree (PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience
- Research grants management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships

Programme Management

About this role

The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.

They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.

Contract and location

The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance.

The achievements of this team have helped RNIB develop innovative projects and support more blind and partially sighted people by securing large value grants from Statutory, Lottery and EU funders.

You will provide support to the team, and other stakeholders, to ensure effective grant management through accurate record keeping, database maintenance, income monitoring and reporting.

The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is an international organisation that protects the natural world and defends our shared, fundamental human rights to a secure environment. With grassroots projects and national programmes in 16 countries and a growing investigative, filmmaking, and campaigns team working to protect our global ocean and climate, wetlands and forests, EJF is growing fast. This new role reflects our ambition to increase our income and diversify our funding to meet our commitment to defend the planet, wildlife and people.

Most of EJF’s income comes from private foundations and government agencies in the UK, Europe, and the USA. We want to diversify the funding base by sharing our impact and ambitions with potential funders and securing long-term prospects that help us plan and sustain our international campaigns. The role needs a highly organised and self-motivated individual to identify opportunities and manage the grant application and reporting process.

About the Role

The post is new to EJF, offering an unusual opportunity to join a dynamic growing organisation and help deliver on EJF’s vision for the future. The role will work directly with the directors and COO, senior management, and colleagues in every geography, giving unique insights into each team's operations and impacts and the issues they are working on.

This role is for you if you are enthusiastic and self-motivated with superb, precise and persuasive written skills and meticulous attention to detail. You are organised and able to meet deadlines and prioritise your workload. You have a track record of writing successful grant applications and meeting the reporting requirements to deadlines. You enjoy researching and reaching out to prospective funders, building relationships, and liaising with colleagues to ensure you have the information needed to craft winning proposals. You are a confident speaker who will inspire funders to support our work.

Responsibilities include:

• Research and make recommendations of funding opportunities (new funders) and the best fit with EJF’s current and planned programmes. Draft initial enquiries (LoI or call) or funding applications. Ensure timely, appropriate follow-up is conducted and that we collect and learn from feedback.

• As directed, manage relationships with funders, ensuring timely reporting that meets their needs. This will include drafting the funder newsletter (bi-monthly) and providing new materials, such as reports, films, audits, etc.

• Draft funding proposals and monitor all deadlines for reporting, planning for the timebound and efficient delivery, and working with team members to ensure the highest quality reports are drafted in good time.

• Organise a monthly meeting with the directors and COO to present opportunities and actions and agree on priorities and approaches to donors.

• Take the lead in preparing government grant applications, liaising with colleagues for information and finessing draft texts.

• Maintain the grant database and ensure it is regularly checked and updated and that leads are followed up.

• Maintain the grants calendar, ensuring you are aware of reporting deadlines and other priority needs well in advance and ensuring no deadlines are missed. The role will take a proactive lead and coordinate as required.

• Assist in delivering events to update existing and attract new funders and ensure appropriate follow-up.

• Assist in crafting presentations to funders and, as required, work with the comms team to develop films or other materials.

• You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrable experience drafting clear, precise, and engaging copy, winning fundraising proposals, and supporting materials.

• You can deliver presentations and engage with funders.

• You are meticulously organised and able to meet multiple priorities to tight deadlines.

• You are friendly, self-motivated, and confident, and you can connect easily with colleagues and funders.

• Fluent in written and spoken English; other modern European languages are an asset.

Programmes & Grants Officer  

Location: London, UK (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH)

About Us:

On the Edge (OtE) is a London-based charity on a mission to emotionally reconnect people with nature through smart, entertaining, social-media-based storytelling. We are especially interested in reaching young people who do not engage with traditional nature content. By fostering a reconnection with the natural world, our stories aim to create advocates for its protection and restoration. On the Edge is also a science-based, grant-giving organisation that funds conservation projects around the world.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a programmes officer or manager with at least 1 years’ experience in conservation grant making. This role will facilitate the management of all conservation and storytelling grants awarded, as well as managing relationships, grant proposal development, budgets and impact measuring. This role will provide some opportunity to travel as part of our capacity building training programmes.

This is an exciting time for OtE as we have just launched a new grant approach. Our in-house programme will be the first of its kind and will rapidly increase conservation attention towards EDGE species and zones. The programmes officer/manager will play a key role in the development and expansion of this grant approach.

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the development and implementation of the grant programme’s strategy

• Supports the development and management of our grant portfolio, including researching new granting opportunities in line with the strategic directions (especially grassroots and national level actors), scoping and developing proposals with prospective grantees.

• Supports grantees through our funding model which may include coordinated activities with grantees and capacity building, developing systems for and overseeing grantee reporting, and conducts the monitoring and evaluation of grants against our impact framework, which may include site visits.

• Contributes to the setting of program budgets, allocation of funds, and supports the COO in financial reporting.

• Represents OtE in a variety of settings, including among peer groups and at public events.

• Contributes to supporting activities, relationships and networking with the conservation and philanthropic sectors, developing trust and collaboration and identifying aligned goals, helping to shape and align priorities in the grant-making sector.

• Keeps up to date with mapping and assessment of NGO impacts and donor grant-making in our target areas to ensure our grant-making adds value, including identifying barriers to success and gaps in the field or funding.

Qualifications and Experience required

• A university degree in a field relevant to conservation or science. A post-graduate degree would be an asset but is not essential.

• At least 1 years in of one or more of the following: biodiversity conservation, grant-making and the philanthropic sector, conservation communications/education.

• Experience in designing, leading and implementing successful projects with partners

• Experience in planning, strategy development and delivery would be an advantage

• Experience of budgetary and financial management is essential.

• Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, including in risk assessment, evaluation of potential projects and organisational success.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, networking skills, project and people management experience and able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

• Strong computer skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset

• Highly organised and able to develop organisational systems as and when needed, able to track and work to multiple deadlines

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Engagement Manager to head up our Digital Team, taking the lead on driving forward the organisation’s digital marketing and communications. You’ll work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver the digital elements of the wider marketing and communications strategy, and line manage senior officers who lead the operations and development of our website, social media, email marketing and paid advertising activities. 

You’ll play a lead role in maximising digital marketing opportunities, raising the profile of the organisation, communicating information, services and campaigns to new and existing supporters, and using insights and data to drive engagement and growth across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to expert for major initiatives that require digital support, from communication campaigns to change projects. You’ll also bring insights into the latest trends and developments in the digital marketing landscape.

You’ll be a digital all-rounder with enough hands-on knowledge and experience to support your operational leads, and the ability to think strategically, guiding the team and driving forward new ideas and initiatives.
