Claremont Park Community Centre is looking for a Centre & Community Coordinator to build on the strong foundations already in place, both within our Centre and across the wider community. This role will focus on developing and enhancing what already works well, alongside identifying areas for development, reaching even more residents of Claremont and helping our Centre grow as a welcoming, inclusive hub for our community.
This exciting new role will combine operational centre management with proactive community engagement. You’ll work closely with residents, partners and the centre’s trustees to ensure Claremont Park Community Centre meets the needs and interests of our community.
You’ll coordinate and deliver meaningful engagement activities, including externally funded projects and community-led events. You’ll also play a key role in implementing ideas from our People’s Plan and other local strategies, helping to create a stronger, more connected Claremont.
From managing centre bookings to hosting local groups, building relationships and bringing new ideas and activities into our space, this is a varied, hands-on role perfect for someone who cares about community and wants to make a tangible difference.
You’ll be supported by a forward-thinking trustee board and line manage a small team of Cost of Living Support Workers.

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland is looking to hire a new member of staff to help co-ordinate and deliver the Finding Futures for Scotland’s Churches project.
Working closely with Scotland’s Churches Trust, this role will assist the Research Officer to work with communities to collate existing country-wide information on both the heritage and community value of Scotland’s churches. The role will help identify knowledge and data gaps, carry out heritage surveys and engage community-representative groups to undertake a community value assessment applying the University of Stirling’s Social Value Toolkit. It will also involve supporting the set up and administration of a network of key stakeholders.

Furzedown Youth Centre (FYC) is a community Youth Centre, owned and managed by a partnership of four local churches. FYC has been serving the Furzedown area for over 20 years. The aims of FYC are:
• to reach out to the many, mainly unchurched, local young people, school years 6 - 13, to provide a safe place for them to gather, free from negative behavioural influences, for example, drug and gang related crime.
• to engage young people in high quality recreational activities within a supportive Christian environment. Helping to promote their social, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, thereby enabling them to grow in maturity as individuals and members of society.
• to share the unconditional love of God with them - by service and example - with the hope that, ultimately, they may understand more about the good news of Jesus Christ.
• to build and strengthen links with the local community
The contrast of the two organisations gives the dynamic combination of both outreach into the community via the open programming of Furzedown Youth Centre and discipleship of those young people who find themselves connected to Mitcham Lane Baptist Church.
Key Details:
Location: Mitcham Lane Baptist Church & Furzedown Youth Centre
Reporting to: Pastor of MLBC
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible, includes evenings and weekends/Sunday services)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications (£27,000 - £29,500pa)
Annual Leave: 25 days + 8 Public Holidays.
Contract Type: 3 years fixed term (subject to 6-month probation)
Occupational Requirement: Practicing Christian (Equality Act 2010)
Enhanced DBS check required.
Right to work in the UK required.

This job is for you if:
· You are a committed Christian with active church involvement and a desire to grow and deepen their personal faith.
· You are able to become an active member at MLBC.
· You have a minimum three year’s experience in youth work (11–18 age group).
· You hold a relevant qualification in Theology, Youth or Community work.
· You have the ability to lead and inspire youth, volunteers, and community partners.
· You have strong organisational and time management skills.
· You are a good communicator, both one-to-one and in groups.
· You have an understanding of inner-city youth culture and contemporary challenges.
· You are confident in your knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
· You can demonstrate a willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
· You thrive in a team but also have high levels of self-motivation and initiative.

About the role
Sitting on Leeds Community Foundation’s senior leadership team, the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships will develop a new income generation strategy, focusing on high-value, sustainable philanthropy, and a new proactive Communications strategy showcasing the Foundation as the go-to place for philanthropy in Leeds and Bradford.
The role will be a strategic leader in the organisation, deputising for the CEO where needed and representing the charity externally, while also personally delivering 6- and 7-figure gifts from new and existing supporters.
Who we are looking for
- Senior-level experience in income generation through philanthropic and/or corporate partnerships.
- Proven success in securing significant gifts from individuals or institutions.
- Familiarity with professional advisory networks, corporate and private wealth giving.
- Experience developing and delivering cross-channel communications strategies, ideally within a values-led or mission-driven organisation.
- Experience of line management and/or leading cross-team workstreams with the ability to lead a high-performing team.
- Existing networks across Bradford and Leeds would be a real advantage.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on growth, innovation and influence.
- Skilled communicator with a confident, persuasive presentation style.
- Ability to craft compelling narratives and develop messaging that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrates strong judgement on critical matters and can make informed, timely and effective decisions.
- Committed to our mission and values, with a passion for equity and community transformation.
