The Centre of Excellence will focus on increasing groups’ financial literacy, confidence, skills, resilience and will include:

• Bespoke financial management capacity-building support, including compliance with statutory/funder requirements; and support with operational/strategic management and planning resources.

• Support will also include financial health checks, finance strategy development, risk.

• Identification and management, budgeting, statutory/funder compliance training, employer responsibilities training, governance training, budget for funding bids, and annual report.

• Devote significant time to outward-facing activities dedicated to supporting frontline Black and racialised grassroots community groups.

• Development of online learning tools and platforms to cascade the learning and providing 1-to-1 coaching sessions for Senior managers and Trustees.

The Deputy Finance Director will report to and work closely with the Chief Financial officer and will also contribute to Ubele’s overall financial strategy and supporting financial operations within our central hub.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a staff nurse to join our existing CHAS at Home team. With a base in Inverness the team works in families’ homes providing the highest level of family centred care to support the needs of babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions and their families.

As an experienced nurse you will be supported with an induction to palliative and end of life care, exploring areas such as advanced communication, symptom management, pain management and development of advanced clinical skills such as PN, PD and ventilation.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide a high standard of palliative nursing care to children and young people who have life-shortening conditions, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, ensuring that the care provision is adapted to meet the complex needs of the individual.
• Provide nursing care at end of life and bereavement support including last office procedures, for the child, young person and their family, with support as required.
• As necessary, provide care for the child, young person and their family in a variety of settings, ensuring the care plan meets the needs of the individual.
• Collaborate and liaise with a range of professionals to meet the needs of the child, young person and their family taking opportunities to promote and raise awareness of the services provided by CHAS
• Maintain and accurately updates all written and electronic records in accordance with appropriate legislation and organisational standards.

Main purpose of post

Operational Support 

· Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.

· Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and experience a welcoming environment.

· Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual Operations plan.

· Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and Operations Working Group.

· Support with updating operational policies and procedures.

· Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO), alongside the Operations Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.

· Assist in the coordination of the charity car maintenance and safety checks, including keeping auditable records.

· Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.

· Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing procedure.

Health & Safety 

· Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.

· Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports)

· Assist in the procurement and delivery of training.

Workwear and equipment 

· Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests; including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock checks and ordering stock as required.

Tech Support 

· Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries

· Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes

· Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that maintain the IT security score.

· Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including software licenses, logins, and induction training

General Administrative Support & Development 

· Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.

· Manage the operations team telephone, email, and postal enquiries.

· Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and consumables.

· Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support.

Environmental Advocate 

· Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g., recycling, energy use, carbon footprint)

· Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs, and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Title: Individual Giving Manager

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and leading the Individual Giving Team, the post holder will work closely with colleagues across the fundraising team to create, test, monitor and evaluate campaigns working to and reporting on ambitious income and expenditure targets and ensuring that supporters have a positive experience of the charity. The postholder will lead a team of three to deliver on a central part of the overall fundraising strategy, with the ultimate aim of growing our individual giving income to increase the impact of the charity and benefit patients and those affected by neurological and neuromuscular conditions.

They are looking for candidates with extensive experience of designing, delivering and reporting on individual giving fundraising activities. The ideal candidate will have experience of developing an individual giving programme that includes revamping a supporter journey, designing uplifting campaigns and producing conversion messaging to supporters from cash appeal donor to regular givers.

The BNSSG VCSE Alliance exists to enable diverse VCSE organisations to engage and participate in system-wide changes to health and care services. We are seeking a VCSE Brokerage Manager to lead the development of a Brokerage Framework, which will provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach VCSE organisations.

About Us

The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) VCSE Alliance launched in January 2024. It aims to influence and facilitate greater collaboration between the regional health system (BNSSG Integrated Care System) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE). It seeks to do this by enhancing the role of the VCSE sector in the delivery and transformation of wellbeing and health, and cementing our sector’s role as a key strategic partner in the planning, design and delivery of health and care, in its widest possible definition.  

The co-design of a new ‘VCSE Brokerage Framework’ with colleagues from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and System (ICS) is a key priority for the VCSE Alliance in 2024-25. The aim of the Brokerage Framework is to provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach a diverse range of VCSE organisations. The intention is for it to be a new process by which grants and opportunities can be distributed to the sector.

The Role

The VCSE Brokerage Manager’s role is to lead on the further development, piloting, and preparation for launch of the Brokerage Framework. The role will work closely with colleagues across the VCSE Alliance and the health and social care system. Ensuring that diverse VCSE organisations, from micro to large scale and that serve communities of interest, of place and of practice are included and enabled in the brokerage framework will be crucial to the success of this role.

As a Ubele Programme Assistant, you will be a member of the Community Wealth Building hub supporting our Programme Manager with the Agbero2100 London programme by overseeing administrative tasks, communicating with our partners ensuring resource availability for the project team from project inception to completion.

Main duties & Responsibilities

• To act as the first point of contact for the Agbero2100 London programme, responding to and redirecting enquiries as appropriate.
• To co-ordinate the work and meetings of programme stakeholders and partners, including minute taking. 
• To ensure effective and ongoing communications with key stakeholders, maintaining their interest throughout the programme.
• To gather partner agreements, consultancy agreements, contracts and purchase orders, working closely with our finance hub to issue invoices and chase outstanding payments.
• Coordinate the programme information with stakeholders. 
• To manage programme information ensuring all data is stored and shared securely. 
• To organise events and seminars, and to draw together the contributions and outcomes from these events.  Providing support where appropriate.
• To contribute to the coordination of events with the support of Comms including maintaining positive relationships with Comms.
• To support the programme manager in efficiently collecting, relevant data to inform decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
• The Programme Assistant will utilize appropriate tools and techniques to collate data from various project stakeholders, teams, and relevant sources.  Establish a structured approach to capture both qualitative and quantitative data to assess project progress and performance under the instruction of the Programme Manager or Hub Lead.
• Support the Programme Manager in preparing regular and ad-hoc reports. 
• Support the Programme Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of data collection methods, analysis techniques, and results for project audit and future reference. 
• Adhere to relevant industry standards, legal requirements, and organizational policies related to data privacy, confidentiality, and security.Handle sensitive project data with the utmost integrity and take necessary precautions to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
• To support or manage volunteers and interns. 
• To carry out additional work for the programme as and when required by hub lead. 
• To recognize and challenge all forms of discrimination and prejudice in the workplace. 
• To treat everyone with respect, dignity, and fairness and to acknowledge and celebrate diversity. 
• To maintain an awareness of your own and others’ health and safety and comply with Ubele’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:

* Demonstrable experience of delivering excellence in an operations or research function, ideally within a fundraising team.

* Experience delivering data and insight reports according to a brief.

* A proven track record of using data and insight to inform team activity.

* Experience of working with a relationship database, developing supporter journeys and using analysis to identify and segment prospects.

* A proactive approach to ensuring continuous improvement alongside the attention to detail to ensure compliance.
