Main Duties & Responsibilities

Grants & Funding

To identify & secure grants to support our core support provision.

· Researching, identifying & pursuing grants & funding opportunities.

· The development, implementation & management of new & existing services, products & resources.

· To identify strategies, opportunities & ideas for growth, greater social impact, income generation & income diversification.

· Exploration of new revenue models & earned-income opportunities.

· To lead on projects associated with trading income generation & diversification.

Partnerships & Communications

To enhance our partnership working & communications to nurture supportive relationships in our community.

· Establishing, developing, maintaining & cultivating strong partnership working with individuals & organisations that support our work (including educational institutions, corporates, non-profits & other organisations).

· Nurturing partnerships to raise awareness of our work & enhance associated income opportunities.

· Developing partnership models, value propositions & partnership packages tailored to prospective supporters that facilitate support delivery, community engagement & organisational growth.

Are you an experienced content creator? Do you have excellent editing skills? Can you spot a good story and create engaging narratives for editorial? Are you familiar with publications processes? 

We are seeking a Communications and Content Editor to support our communications output across multiple channels, including production of the SLA’s flagship publication, The School Librarian. This new role will be pivotal to elevating our publication, and supporting strong narratives across our communications.This is a hands on role, with an opportunity to help shape our communications and TSL as we approach the SLA’s ninetieth year in 2027. 

You will be an experienced editor and content creator. Creative and with a strong eye for detail, you will be confident in overseeing the publications process, alongside copy-editing, proofing and commissioning content and associated administration. You will enjoy opportunities to apply your creative skills to creating interesting and engaging content to support our outputs. As we develop new ways of working, your insight and ideas will help support new activity. You will be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and happy to get stuck in as needed. Areas of work include managing production of The School Librarian journal which publishes three times per year, developing a strong understanding of the TSL audience, its circulation and readership figures to inform content development and identify opportunities to attract new subscribers. You will also contribute to digital communication and content strategy across the organisation, helping to determine the best platforms or channels for a variety of content types. While leading on TSL, you will also support content creation for our newsletters, website and social media, working with the Publicity and Partnerships Manager to determine the most appropriate format for different stories, features or news items.

The salary for this position is £24, 324.32 per anum (based on FTE £30,000) for 30 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

Primary location of role

This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in the Edinburgh area with unlimited access to their own car. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London, Sheffield or Glasgow office.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Health Advocate Educator supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.

The Health Advocate Educator will support healthcare teams to identify domestic abuse at an early stage and ensure appropriate responses and referral pathways are offered to female, male and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and abuse. A key member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office’s (DARO) Philanthropy team, you will be responsible for growing major gifts opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline of future donations from global philanthropic markets. You will have experience of delivering against financial targets, along with the ability to translate complex information into a compelling ask in both verbal and written form. As the Head of Philanthropy - Global, you will be responsible for growing our international major gifts programme. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Philanthropy you will develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase major giving in Asia and North America as well as emerging areas of focus. • Identify and increase awareness of voluntary sector organisations based in the East of England and the South Central & South West, the range of and types of services and support provided to people in contact with the criminal justice system and their families, where they deliver and how they are funded. 

• Understand the work of local and regional voluntary sector infrastructure organisations in a the East of England or South Central /South West to strengthen the support offered by Clinks and increase partnership working and collaboration. 

• Work alongside the National Influencing & Networks team to use this intelligence to influence key decision making at a local and national level.

• Gather intelligence from the sector to identify and understand the needs of place-based organisations and share feedback with HMPPS and other key stakeholders to develop operational processes and influence future commissioning opportunities. 

• Provide support to voluntary sector organisations, keeping the sector informed and up to date and capturing the support provided and its impact. 

• Respond to requests from voluntary sector organisations in need of support and signpost or consider what assistance Clinks (and others) can provide.

The Triage Administrator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of our Council funded Adult Bereavement Service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This service aims to provide accessible, accessible, empathetic and effective support for adults affected by bereavement, particularly sudden or drug/alcohol-related deaths. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and confident Support Specialist– Non-Malignant Brain Tumours to deliver the charity’s highly regarded coaching and information service for people living with a non-malignant brain tumour and their families.

This role is central to empowering individuals to feel informed, supported and in control of their lives following diagnosis. Working closely with the Head of Support and wider services team, you will provide tailored emotional and practical support through coaching, information sharing and community engagement.

The Role

We’re seeking a dedicated Support Specialist – Non-Malignant Brain Tumours to join our experienced and passionate team, delivering impartial, high-quality coaching and information to people living with a non-malignant brain tumour and their caregivers.

You will work directly with individuals and families via phone, email, online and face-to-face support, helping them navigate diagnosis, treatment, recovery and long-term wellbeing. You will also play an active role in growing and nurturing our supportive community through workshops, events and online engagement.

Full training and ongoing coaching will be provided, giving you the confidence and skills to deliver a service that truly transforms lives.

In this role, you will:

• Provide one-to-one coaching, information and support to people living with non-malignant brain tumours and their caregivers
• Help individuals feel empowered, informed and better able to manage their circumstances
• Contribute to building and sustaining a strong community through workshops, events, social media and peer connection
• Work within case management systems to triage and record support accurately and confidentially
• Collaborate with clinical and voluntary sector stakeholders to ensure joined-up support

About You

To be successful as a Support Specialist, you will be an empathetic communicator with strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for supporting people affected by serious illness.

You will bring:

• A calm, compassionate and reassuring approach when supporting people in difficult situations
• Strong time-management and prioritisation skills

Leadership

• Develop and manage a significant and comprehensive operational annual budget and set of KPIs in line with income constraints and create evaluation & monitoring systems that drive value for money and agreed delivery objectives.
• Develop and manage budgets for supported living services, ensuring financial sustainability recognising that the Charity does not fundraise for statutory provision.
