Swarthmoor Hall in Ulverston is a place of international significance as the birth of the Quaker movement in 1652. It now comprises the historic Hall as a visitor attraction with gardens, a busy café and shop, on site holiday accommodation and facilities for the local community. Swarthmoor Hall has lots to offer local visitors and tourists and it is a great place to work with an excellent team.
We have plans to develop the attraction further in 2026, and this along with increasing visitor numbers means we need some new staff. The site is currently open on Wednesday to Friday as well as on some weekend and bank holidays; in 2026 this will move to being open on Wednesday to Saturday.
We are looking for a new Hospitality/Commercial Supervisor covering the cafe and shop. The duties and the hours are outlined below, but there is flexibility for the right person.
You’ll be a motivated and flexible person, confident in running all aspects of a small café and/or retail site. You will be confident, friendly and a strong team player, able to work alone and with others and able to supervise some staff and volunteers.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. · Lead on the strategic planning and implementation of income generation activities to help build sustainability of The Carers’ Centre and its services for 19,600 unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset.

Income generation
· Design and deliver a diverse income generation plan to support philanthropy and fundraising in line with The Carers’ Centre Strategic Plan.
· Co-produce annual philanthropy and fundraising targets and take the lead responsibility to instigate and co-ordinate the activity that will achieve them.
· Build long-lasting relationships with key local philanthropists, donors, and funders.
· Work proactively with colleagues to research, identify and scope a portfolio of compelling projects and proposals that will appeal to donors and funders.
· Work closely with communication colleagues to develop appropriate communications campaigns and activities for different supporter groups.

Salary
The spot salary for the Reward Manager role is £58,242 per annum for those who meet all role requirements. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

Job Summary
The Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, a newly established role within the Income Department, will be responsible for delivering our expanding portfolio of Corporate Partnerships while actively seeking out and securing new partnership opportunities.
MHI is at a pivotal point in its development, having experienced significant growth since launching in 2017. Over the past 18 months, a primary focus has been on cultivating strategic partnerships that not only support fundraising efforts but also align with broader organisational goals such as volunteering, volunteer recruitment, stewardship, and enhancing brand recognition.
Having secured three large longer term partnerships, we are now seeking a creative, passionate and knowledgeable Corporate Partnership specialist to lead on launching, relationship management, stewardship and growth and ensure all opportunities are maximised.
Working closely with the Director of Income, Head of Communications and Marketing and Senior Trust and Foundation Manager. You will work across income streams (major donors, trusts and foundations and commissioned partners) to spot opportunities for enhancing existing or developing new long-term, strategic corporate partnerships. You will also undertake regular horizon scanning and trend analysis to identify opportunities to develop new and innovative partnerships. This will include optimising the expertise and contacts of the Board, volunteer-base and other senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and nurture current high value corporate partnerships with a focus on maximising all opportunities, delivering first class stewardships and partnership retention.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance team and finance volunteers.
- Lead on month-end closing processes and producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts.

The team is strategically and collaboratively managed by Learning and Development Managers (LDMs), each having responsibility for a number of Learning and Development Officers (LDO) working within a geographical area. We are seeking to recruit an LDM for appointment within the Cymru Wales, West Midlands and South West, or the South East Methodist Districts.
There is a requirement to live within this geography that includes the Methodist districts: Bedfordshire, Essex, & Hertfordshire, Bristol, Channel Islands, East Anglia, Lincolnshire, London, Northampton, Nottingham and Derby, Southampton, South East, South West Peninsular, Wales Synod Cymru, and West Midlands.
Responsibilities of the Learning Development Manager include:

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Tender has grown significantly in recent years. We have secured income from an increasing range of sources: corporates, major donors, trusts & foundations and statutory funders. We have done this with a small but highly effective development team.

The main purposes of this role are:
