At Ada, the National College for Digital Skills, our mission is to educate and empower the next generation of diverse digital talent. Through the quality of education we deliver, the depth of our industry partnerships and focus on diversity, we are changing the face of the tech sector, expanding the talent pipeline and transforming lives.
We are a specialist Further Education college, where every 16-19 student takes Computer Science and all of our diverse Higher Level and Degree Apprentices work in skills shortage disciplines in innovative, blue-chip companies.
The digital skills gap is costing the UK economy an estimated £63 billion a year in lost GDP. Ada seeks to fill this skills gap by equipping young with the skills industry actually needs.
Ada was announced by the Prime Minister in December 2014; England’s first new FE College since 1993 and since then we’ve gone from strength to strength including a Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted Inspection.
16-19 Provision:
As of 2024, we have 187 16-19 students enrolled. Our most recent results are outstanding; 39% of A level results at A*- B and 74% achieving at least one Distinction or better in their externally assessed Computing BTEC. This makes us the best education institution in the country for this BTEC.
Degree Apprenticeships:
Across our London Victoria and Manchester Ancoats campus, we have 363 apprentices currently enrolled on our Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships. We specialise in five disciplines at present: software development, data analytics, tech consultancy, cyber security and business analysis, working with a wide range of SMEs and corporate organisations such as PwC, Bank of America, Deloitte, Clearscore, Just Eat, Capita, MHRA, Booking,com and Salesforce.
At present 38% of our learners are female, 51% are from ethnic minority backgrounds and 50% come from low-income households compared to national averages of c. 20%.

Purpose of the role
In 2027 we will host our prestigious Global Congress. Held every four years, Congress convenes eminent leaders invested in global consumer rights and empowerment. This includes the heads of the leading consumer advocacy organisations, ministers and senior government representatives, leaders in civil society, executives at top businesses, prominent academics, and visionaries from philanthropic and international institutions.
Congress is critical to the mission of Consumers International. It is crucial for our governance, as the basis for our General Assembly, where our Membership elects the governing Council of Consumers International. Around this procedural milestone, we structure a participatory, diverse and unique programme that is designed to build and advance the future of consumer rights advocacy worldwide. Our last Congress brought together over 600 participants, including more than 100 at C-suite level, and was a platform for releasing new insight and announcing major partnerships. It featured over 30 interactive sessions taking place over three days in person and online, with extremely high satisfaction and feedback ratings from participants.
To drive forward our planning and delivery for our next Congress in 2027, we are looking for an exceptional Lead, Flagship Events. This person will be the organisational lynchpin for Congress, working directly with our Leadership Team at Consumers International to produce and execute a clear event plan according to ambitious milestones and key performance indicators.
The Lead will project manage and mobilise the wider Consumers International team to deliver the 2027 Congress, building a relationship with the host government and playing an essential part in producing a dynamic event that excites and inspires attendees. The Lead will bring strong leadership, coordination and project management skills to the role. They will have best-in-class relationship building and negotiation skills, experience dealing with senior stakeholders, and will have delivered major impactful events in the past.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management

Develop and drive delivery of a comprehensive Congress project plan with clear milestones, dependencies and performance indicators

Role Purpose

As a Relationship Manager you will inspire and motivate a wide range of supporters (including individuals, groups, and corporate partner to develop strong relationships, maximising in-year fundraising opportunities and long-term value.
We are looking for candidates from a business development or fundraising background who are excited to join our hard-working team. We’re looking for a natural people person, with excellent relationship building skills, confident in negotiating with and influencing a diverse range of supporters. You’ll be used to managing multiple priorities and be adaptable in an environment where no two days are the same.

This is a home-based role with significant travel across the patch to maximise community engagement. There will be some out of hours working required such as supporter meetings and events, however you will get this time back via our time off in lieu policy.
What will I be doing?

Inspiring, developing and managing supporters to achieve their goals through offering outstanding and tailored stewardship.

Developing a prospect pipeline of opportunities and identifying and cultivating leads. Acquiring new supporters and income in collaboration with the Business Development team

Hitting fundraising targets and KPIs for CRUK's life saving research.

Supporting creation and delivery of relevant strategies that build better and longer lasting relationships to increase long-term income

Building strong working relationships with wider department team colleagues to effectively develop transitioned supporters

About the Role
The Business Development Officer will play a dynamic and influential role within Sands’ Partnerships & Philanthropy team, helping to shape the charity’s growing presence across corporate, commercial, and digital landscapes. You’ll contribute directly to our income generating ambitions by uncovering new opportunities, building a healthy prospect pipeline, and supporting outreach that amplifies Sands’ profile across professional and online networks.
This role offers an exciting blend of creativity, insight gathering, and hands‑on development work. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to elevate Sands’ visibility - including helping to craft engaging digital content, develop compelling partnership assets, and support targeted online marketing initiatives. With the space to work proactively and take ownership of your projects, you’ll play a meaningful part in strengthening our corporate partnerships and creating foundations for long‑term, high‑impact relationships.
Main Purpose of the Job
- To contribute to the growth of Sands’ commercial and strategic partnerships by generating high-quality research, intelligence, and insight to support prospect acquisition and cultivation.
- To develop and maintain a healthy, diverse pipeline of corporate, commercial, and strategic prospects through structured research, qualification, and profiling.
- To support outreach, digital engagement, and online marketing activity to increase awareness of Sands’ partnership opportunities and drive inbound interest.
- To provide essential administrative and operational support for database management, data compliance, and reporting.
- To support the development of compelling proposals, pitch materials, development assets and case studies that reflect the needs and priorities of Sands and resonate with potential partners.
Principal Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Prospect Research & Pipeline Development
- Conduct structured research to identify new prospective partners across multiple sectors, including retail, leisure, wellbeing, transport, and corporate services.
- Build detailed prospect profiles, including organisational background, alignment potential, decision-makers, and partnership opportunities.
- Maintain and update a robust cross industry prospect pipeline, ensuring all prospects are accurately categorised and tracked.
- Undertake competitor and sector analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities, supporting Sands’ strategic positioning.
- Map networks and connections (internal and external) to support the expansion of Sands’ business development reach.
2. Outreach, Marketing & Engagement Support
- Support initial outreach to prospective partners, including email approaches, LinkedIn engagement, and follow-up communications.
- Support the planning and delivery of targeted online marketing activity to increase organisational visibility among corporate audiences.
- Develop engaging content for outreach - such as partner briefs, email templates, and introductory decks.
- Collaborate with the Engagement and Communications teams to ensure all external messaging reflects Sands’ brand and partnership priorities.
3. Database, Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate, GDPR compliant records on Sands’ CRM, ensuring all research, outreach and cultivation activity are fully logged and auditable.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards to support team activity planning and income forecasting.
- Track deadlines for proposals, reporting, stewardship requirements, and internal consultations.
- Support due diligence checks for all new prospects and record documentation in line with Sands’ ethical and data protection policies.
4. Partnership Materials, Proposals & Case Studies
- Support the creation of high-quality partnership assets, including pitch decks, proposals, stewardship packs, and impact summaries.
- Collate relevant organisational information and stories to support the development of compelling case studies.
- Work with internal colleagues to gather content on Sands’ programmes, events, research, and family stories to support tailored partnership pitches.
- Assist with developing template materials for more efficient proposal creation.
5. Internal Collaboration & Organisational Support
- Work closely with the Commercial Business Development Lead to coordinate new business activity and support cultivation of prospective corporate relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Engagement, Communications, Events, Fundraising and Services to ensure partnership opportunities are strategically aligned.
- Support the planning and delivery of cultivation events, webinars, and online briefings for corporate audiences.
