This is a fantastic opportunity to join this fast-growing charity at an exciting time and make a significant impact as our first Development Director. You will be responsible for our fundraising strategy and setting up and professionalising our fundraising function. Our aspiration is to grow our income from £60k pa to £250k pa over the next 5 years. You will have the backing of a committed group of Trustees and volunteers who are eager to help and support your work.
As well as setting up and establishing our function, the Development Director will be responsible for fundraising for the MEF across several areas, and for developing funding initiatives for our future. You will help build relationships with people and organisations, securing philanthropic and other support that will help to fuel our programmes.
We are looking for someone with a great track record of success in fundraising, who can thrive in a small ambitious team. We will expect you to represent our interests in a range of public and private contexts; to be a confident and pro-active verbal and written communicator; and a skilled networker with a strong track record of relationship building.
The Charity
In 2011 we first worked with 17 years olds in one state school, and since then the MEF has grown to partnering one-fifth of London state schools, nearly 100 schools. We offer something very special to students, individually or as groups – the chance to plan and carry out adult-free a significant non-academic personal challenge, chosen by themselves, and which is theirs, they are in the driving seat. Our award winners develop greater confidence and resilience, stronger teamwork skills, enhanced social capital, and greater employability with stronger CVs and UCAS forms.
Our Schools’ Team visits schools to offer students the opportunity, monitors their applications and safety, and give them expenses for their projects. In 2022/23 we had nearly 4000 assembly sign-ups, who submitted (as groups or individuals) 600 applications: finally, there were 500 awardees.
The charity has at its root the story and the values of Lt Mark Evison, who at the age of 26 sustained mortal wounds in Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2009, while trying to get his platoon to safety when they came under attack. He continues to inspire young Londoners from all backgrounds.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated fundraiser, who will secure regular income and drive forward fundraising for our vision – to make opportunities for personal growth accessible to all 17 years olds in state schools in London, enriching young lives, improving well-being, and growing personal dreams, all at a reasonable cost.
We want someone with a breadth of knowledge across a portfolio of income streams, but with particular skills set and experience in generating income from small and medium business and corporate donors, major and regular donors, trusts and foundations, and statutory services. They should have robust experience of developing and securing income from new income streams, generating leads and successfully engaging prospects to drive income plans. There is the opportunity to grow income from regular giving, legacies, and developing a patron programme.
The post is up to three days a week, with scope for flexibility of time for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years fundraising experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and confidence working with a range of different stakeholders. Experience of working in a similar organisation with a track record of securing five figure gifts, and a knowledge of data base systems is highly desirable.
We offer 25 days holiday pa (pro rata) plus public holidays, and employer contribution to pension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties
· To establish a fundraising strategy and ensure fundraising compliance.
· To generate income from individual donors at the low, mid and major gift level. To support the Executive Trustee steward existing, and cultivate new, major donors.
· To research and develop a trust and foundation pipeline and prepare and submit grant applications and draft progress reports
· To grow our income and diversify our donor pool through targeted campaigns

· To ensure appropriate stewardship processes are in place so that donors at all levels feel well thanked and informed of their impact.

· To build partnerships with businesses to extend our profile and find new funding opportunities
· To effectively engage schools and businesses to support the Foundation, to raise awareness and help raise funds
· To liaise with the team on a regular basis to explore better community engagement, local connections, and fundraising opportunities
· To report regularly to the Board on income, prospects, and strategic objectives in alignment with our objectives
· To help foster a positive culture of fundraising across the organisation
· To promote the MEF widely, through the written word and social media

JOB PURPOSE
As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
- Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
- Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
- Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
- Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children a hope and a future. What you'll be doing
We have a grand opportunity for someone looking to grow their charity experience - As our Fundraising Officer, you'll generate income by creating exceptional written applications and reports. To do this, you'll dive into research, keeping tabs on all fundraising opportunities, as well as crafting strong grant proposals, which is a key aspect of this role. You'll also need to bring in new corporate supporters by building new relationships/sponsorships as well as maintaining existing ones.
In this dynamic team, you'll plan costing, and execute various activities for a charity experiencing an invigorating period of expansion. The role encourages autonomy for you to help move the foundation forward, giving you visibility to own it by working with different people within the organisation to help our foundation grow.
What you need to have
- Experience of securing significant income from partnerships with trusts, corporates, and/or foundations
- Organised, independent, easily multitask, good timekeeping, and deadline-driven
- Excellent communication/customer skills, especially with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to build strong and meaningful relationships
- Experience of working with databases

What's the role about?
You will be responsible for the team that enables delivery of the RSPB's strategy and the key aims of conservation impact, nature positive business change and additional income to the society. In particular you will:
- Lead a team of business conservation advisors, who are based across the UK
- Develop the skills and capabilities of the team towards high performance and positive culture
- Be responsible for the quality of RSPB inputs into business conservation partnerships and aligning with RSPB outcomes
- Work across RSPB teams to bring to fruition new and expanded partnerships that are fitted to RSPB’s strategy
- Be responsible for effective stakeholder management that facilitates collaborative external and internal relationships
- Lead the communications, impact reporting and promotion of the team’s work, to raise its profile with key audiences

Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.
Summary of the role:
We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:
i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;
ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;
iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Leadership and strategy
Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies.
Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.
Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in other joint initiatives as appropriate.
Operational Management
Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.
Fundraising:
Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.
Human Resources:
Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

What we are looking for in a Director:
1. A track record of successfully working at a senior level with strategic leadership and management responsibilities.
2. Ability to develop organisational strategies and translate them into plans and budgets.
3. Experience of working on issues of social justice/human rights/equality, diversity and inclusion and of campaigning for change.
4. Experience of representing an organisation to others, ranging from grass roots activists to government officials including high-level lobbying and advocacy and public speaking.
