Together for Mental Wellbeing are looking for an experienced individual who has their own lived experience of mental distress to join the organisations Service User Leadership Team as the Peer Support Practice Lead. 

Together’s core ethos is ‘’service user leadership’’ which means that we value and champion the voice of those with lived experience of mental distress, ensuring that individuals feel empowered through having choice and control.  Peer support is an integral part of our service user leadership ambitions, demonstrated through the development and implementation of our unique Peer Support Framework and training programmes. 

This role will report into the Head of Service User Leadership and will play a key part in enabling Together to implement the unique Peer Support Framework in partnership with operational colleagues, through offering training, guidance, support and mentoring around best practice. 

We are looking for an individual to join the team who has their own lived experience of mental distress, who can demonstrate great leadership skills with a commitment and passion for service user leadership and peer support.  Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have in-depth peer support knowledge and demonstrable training experience, excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels in the organisation, including external agencies and stakeholders, to support the strategic and operational development in these areas. 

This position is 4 days per week (30 hours) and is home based with the expectation of travel into our London office for meetings as and when required.  The role will also include some travel to our services when required.  All travel expenses will be paid.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will manage policy and public affairs activities, ensuring AdviceUK has a strong voice, and messages are heard at a national and regional level across England, Scotland and Wales, leading to policy change for the benefit of people seeking advice and the communities served by members. The post holder will develop policy solutions, a strong evidence base and effective stakeholder engagement, working collaboratively with AdviceUK colleagues to grow understanding of what members want, what is important to them and how AdviceUK responds.

Key responsibilities

• Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to create authoritative policy positions, produce evidence-based policy materials, provide policy input for communications, stay informed on political trends, and represent at policy meetings.
• Public Affairs: Implement a proactive public affairs strategy, build relationships with government and other stakeholders, champion evidence-based advocacy, communicate public affairs work, and maintain an overview of political trends.
• Evidence and Insight: Champion an evidence-based approach to all AdviceUK's advocacy and external relations work, drawing on research and insight to inform our messages and policy recommendations.
• Management: Effectively manage and support team members, ensuring strong performance and professional development, while promoting values and behaviours.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will have at least 2 years' experience of delivering impactful policy and public affairs activities in a similar role, and experience and/or an understanding of the social welfare advice sector, the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering proactive stakeholder management and working with partners to deliver policy goals and/or research activity. You will have experience of commissioning or delivering research and insight products and effective communication of research and insight activity to raise profile and amplify policy and advocacy goals. You will have experience of managing and motivating staff.

You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, managers, members, partners and suppliers, with strong analytical, decision-making and organisational skills. You will have strong communication skills including using online forums, communities and events as an engagement tool. You will be able to use online reporting tools and CRMs and embrace new technologies and ways of working.

This role is home-based. You will need to attend meetings/events in London and there will be some travel across the UK. There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted.

Essential skills include leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, and financial management, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.

As a senior youth worker you will be part of the team at Carney’s community, involved in the running of the youth boxing sessions, youth club and bike workshop. The post will start before the lead youth worker is on maternity leave to allow you time to get to know the team, the young people and for effective handover when you will be given responsibility for overseeing the youth club and bike workshop sessions and work in partnership with the head coach to run the youth boxing sessions. You will also manage a small team of sessional youth workers. We are seeking a passionate, dynamic individual to take on the role of Garden Community Hub Coordinator for our site in Tooting.

The role will involve supporting our garden move and coordinating the development of our site and provision in our new space. This will include working closely with the team to develop new projects delivered from the site and coordinating the transition of our operations. You will also oversee the growth and development of the Share Garden Centre, our customer-facing enterprise, enabling it to flourish. Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Head of Programme Management leads a large team to oversee all of CIUK’s active humanitarian and development projects funded by UK donors. The team leads CIUK’s relationships with Country Offices and Regions and develops close partnerships to help us achieve long-term and effective programming across the humanitarian and development arena. The team also builds strong relationships with institutional donors and works with the Business with CARE team to deliver corporate-funded programmes. The Head of Programme Management is responsible for ensuring strong grant management and donor compliance including programme financial management. The team ensures that CARE provides and is recognised by donors for offering excellent value for money and real impact for its programme participants. The team also leads CIUK’s approach to delivering smart development and humanitarian programmes with an increasing focus on equitable partnership approaches.

About you

You will have excellent understanding of CIUK’s main donor, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with deep knowledge of how the FCDO operates, how they are structured and contract programmes, as well as their current priorities. You will have the ability to build strong relationships and have demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts with donors and influence donor positions. You will have a strong programme management and risk management background that allows you to understand and work across multiple projects and contexts, and manage risk at the portfolio level, dealing effectively with new risks and issues as they emerge.

As a leader of a large team, you will have strong people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action, motivate colleagues and demonstrate to team members how their role links to organisational strategy and objectives.  You will need to have experience of working in donor-funded organisations, understand cost recovery models, and have experience working to deliver large-scale programming in development and/or humanitarian contexts.  A good understanding of the current debates in the sector on local leadership and a commitment to the principles set out in the pledge for change are essential.

The role covers five main areas of responsibility:

• Representation and relationship management: holding relationships with a set of senior stakeholders including FCDO Senior Responsible Owners, other donor counterparts, CARE Country Directors, Programme Directors and Regional Directors. Negotiating contract terms with donors and troubleshooting delivery issues with country offices. Position CARE’s work to external stakeholders, including personally representing CIUK in external fora.
• Organisational and team leadership, strategy and planning: Set and drive the programme management team’s annual plans and contribution to the organisation’s strategic priorities and annual plan. Be accountable to delivering on team KPIs and organisational KPIs that link to PMT’s work. Play a key role in the leadership of the Programme and Policy department.
• Line management: Directly line manage up to five direct reports. Provide and support strong recruitment, line management, learning and development. Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to CIUK’s equity, diversity and inclusion goals, promote organisational EDI initiatives within the team and work with the team to set team-related EDI objectives. ​
• Financial and compliance management: Provide close and effective management of multi-million pound budgets. Reforecast accurately throughout the year, identifying and working with country offices to rectify implementation issues. Manage risks and issues at portfolio level, raising high and critical risks for attention by senior leadership and board as necessary. Ensure donor compliance is followed.
• Programme quality, monitoring evaluation and learning : Ensure that CIUK closely monitors project implementation, relevance of programme outputs and outcomes and ensures programmes meet relevant technical standards and up to date best practice. Programmes fulfil requirements on programme quality and adhere to do no harm standards, the Core Humanitarian Standard, and ensure that CARE’s safeguarding standards are met throughout the life of the programme. Proactively share knowledge from CIUK’s programmes across the confederation and externally.

Battersea’s Human Resources department provides expert advice, guidance and support by working in partnership with leaders, managers, teams and people across the organisation. Within the Human Resources department sits the Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) Team that works strategically to build organisational capacity through delivery of our L&OD Strategy. L&OD works in partnership with the organisation, developing solutions that are aligned to our mission and strategy and are a good fit with our culture and people, combining face to face and digital learning experiences. 

The L&OD Coordinator will play a key part in a team who are passionate about culture and people development are trusted throughout Battersea. They will take responsibility for the co-ordination, planning and administration across the L&OD Team, acting as a first point of contact for all queries ensuring a responsive and customer focused service. They will provide timely and accurate coordination of activities across all areas of the L&OD function, and will have excellent organisational and communication skills, have a pro-active and professional approach and work effectively within a team and with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with experience of working in a fast-paced coordinator and/or administrative role in human resources, learning and development or organisational development, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

As Health Services Lead at Crohn’s & Colitis UK, you will be integral in project managing the development of a new Healthcare Professional Online Education Programme. You will also work on a variety of other healthcare professional projects. This is a role that is both fulfilling and challenging. You will be supporting the Health Services Manager and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, all with a view to improving the quality and the standards of health services for all people affected by Crohn's and Colitis.
