The role/ responsibilities:

In recent years, the charity has experienced significant growth—supporting more children, partnering with leading hospitals, and attracting a growing number of dedicated supporters. 

The Head of Partnerships and Events will oversee the charities growing portfolio of special fundraising events. You will cultivate strong relationships with supporters who organise events in aid of Noah’s Ark, while proactively identifying gaps in their event offering to ensure a diverse and engaging programme that appeals to a wide range of existing and potential donors.

• To create a supportive, cohesive and aspirational culture where the team are motivated to meet and exceed targets and recognise their contribution to the organisational objectives and strategy

• To ensure that all relationships with partners are maximised and stewarded to the highest standards

• To facilitate the Philanthropy & Corporate Committee, supporting its members in playing their part to raise funds for the charity and in building a network of supporters new to the charity

• To develop the overall Partnerships and Events team strategy and; delivering against agreed KPIs and ensuring that the strategy, plans and activity directly supports the delivery of Fundraising & Communication – and organisational – objectives
• To play a key role in the success of annual matching funding campaigns, most especially the recruitment of corporate partners as campaign Champions
• To create annual income and expenditure budgets for Partnerships income streams, effectively overseeing and controlling their delivery through monthly and quarterly monitoring
• To provide monthly and quarterly commentary for Director of Fundraising & Communications to inform regular Trustee Board reports

• Proven experience in corporate and partnership fundraising, with a strong track record of increasing income.

• Excellent relationship-building skills, demonstrated through securing significant gifts via face-to-face meetings, phone conversations, and email—always prioritising an outstanding supporter experience.

• Skilled in developing and executing strategic fundraising plans, translating them into actionable operational plans with clear KPIs and risk management.

• Experienced in budget management, including setting, monitoring, and delivering against budgets, reporting on KPIs, identifying variances, and reforecasting as needed.

• Strong leadership abilities, with experience in managing and motivating a fundraising team through effective line management, supervision, and staff development.

• Outstanding time management and organisational skills, with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) are recruiting for a new Chief Executive .

BFT is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, we have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. The Chief Executive role has organisational responsibility for 12 members of staff, some office based but most out and about across the countryside in which BFT works.

Job Purpose

Volunteering Matters have been working in collaboration with South of Enterprise Scotland (SOSE) to pilot Enterprising Futures in Dumfries and Galloway and due to the success of the work we are expanding this work into The Scottish Borders. With the support of SOSE, we are launching a new project, Enterprising Futures Scottish Borders, where we will use our tried and tested model to enable people to work to remove those barriers, build confidence and introduce the idea of starting their own business.

Our aim is to ensure a better future for all and that the region thrives with economic productivity. From our learnings from Dumfries and Galloway, we are launching a pilot which creates a pipeline for additional and flexible support, empowering women and those from under-represented groups, by introducing the idea of starting their own business.

Our part time Engagement Manager will create a warm referral pathway wherein they attend training events and sessions with Pathways Coaches alongside potential clients, ensuring a smooth and trusting transition to SOSE’s support, stepping back when trust is built. We will support people in the Scottish Borders who experience barriers to education, training, and employment.

As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway.  This will include barrier identification and removal and where appropriate provide pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area. 

You will engage with local people from under-represented groups in The Borders to realise their dreams and take active steps toward self-employment. Volunteering Matters’ individualised support adapts to the needs of each client whether this is additional funding, support to attend meetings, confidence building, or skills development in a supported volunteering placement. The person-centred, place-based approach to individual support is central to this partnership and leads to meaningful and sustainable impact for all.

Where appropriate you will create bespoke and tailored volunteering opportunities with third sector partners to enable people to build their skills and confidence to take that first step into exploring employment

About the role

Newnham College is seeking to recruit a dynamic and pro-active person to take on the role of Deputy Development Director to support the Development Director in the management and running of the College’s Development Office.  This role will focus on developing productive relationships with College alumnae and donors, provide oversight of all aspects of gift processing, data  management and prospect research and regular giving and provide line management and leadership for the Development team. This is a permanent, full-time post, working 37.5 hours a week. The salary is paid at point 51 on the University’s single salary spine, the current value for which is £50,253 per annum. The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will support children at risk of domestic abuse, including sexual violence and stalking within a domestic abuse context within the Thames Valley area. Children will be identified via their non-abusing parent who is already accessing support as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking from Aurora New Dawn. Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend 2 directorate days and conferences/events. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at the office in Hatfield for its 'All Staff Together' days, at which attendance is mandatory.

The Partnerships team is looking for a new member to join our team. You will be working with a variety of major trusts, foundations and statutory sources. Income generation

• Research, identify, and secure income from major and local trusts, foundations and statutory sources that align with our organisational priorities.

• Write compelling and persuasive funding applications, ensuring all required information is accurate and wellpresented.

• Maximise income through both unrestricted and restricted funding opportunities.

• Work closely with the Partnerships Manager to implement the trusts and statutory fundraising strategy effectively.

Donor stewardship and communication

• Provide excellent stewardship to all funders, ensuring reporting and communication requirements are met timely and professionally.

• Maintain and nurture strong relationships with funding organisations and bodies to secure long-term support.

• Collaborate with colleagues to create impact reports and regular updates that bring our work to life 

Finance and administration

• Track and report on income progress against targets, ensuring accurate records are maintained in the CRM system (Donorfy).

• Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and guidelines, including GDPR and safeguarding regulations.

• Support the Partnerships Manager with administrative tasks linked to applications, reporting, and compliance.

Other

• Stay informed of changes in statutory and trust fundraising landscapes, sharing insights with the team.

• Contribute to broader fundraising projects as required.

Person specification

Experience of:

• Securing income (five-figure gifts min) from Trusts, foundations and statutory sources.

• Writing successful funding applications with proven income generation.

• Building and maintaining relationships with funders to support long-term income streams.

• Using fundraising CRMs, ideally Donorfy, to track income and manage relationships.

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling applications and impact reports.

• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in IT, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online research tools.

Whilst you will work with all of our five programme teams, a majority of your time will focus on our climate programme. You don’t need to be a climate expert but have an awareness of TV and and foster partnerships with media to transform how climate is seen and felt on screen by helping the team develop impactful climate and health story case studies to fulfill our mission of changing hearts and minds.

OVERVIEW

• Job type: 18-month fixed-term contract (potential to extend, subject to funding)
• Days: 0.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) – totalling 25.6 hours per week* not including breaks (Mon – Thurs).
• We will consider 0.6 or 0.7 FTE to allow more flexibility for the right candidate.
• Pay: £42,510 (per annum pro rata – so for 0.8 FTE this works out as £34,010)
• Staff Benefits: 7.5% pension contribution, generous holiday leave, birthday leave, Christmas leave plus bank holidays, annual training budget, mentoring, and hybrid working.
• Reporting to: co-ceos (Sophie Hobson and Nathalie McDermott)
• Based at: London-based / hybrid.
  • Working at least 2 days a week in the office, one of which is a Tuesday. 
  • Our office is on Cambridge Heath Road, London, E2 9DA.

*Heard is trialling the Four-Day Week as part of our commitment to well-being, sustainability and effectiveness. This means our full-time equivalent has reduced from 35 to 32 hours, spread Mon – Thurs.
