Purpose of the role

To deliver and develop the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, predominantly within Northern General Hospital, Sheffield but also in other hospital settings or Trusts as required. 

To have a visible physical presence within the Trust and become embedded into clinical teams focussing on the major trauma pathways.

To work closely with those impacted by catastrophic injury, taking referrals and carrying out initial assessments of need, expertly navigating, signposting and putting services in place in the immediate aftermath of major trauma, including talking about and facilitating early access to legal support to aid rehabilitation.

To establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by catastrophic injury. 

To work as part of the wider Day One Service’s team and organisation, taking responsibility for own record keeping and data collection in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities 

The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: 

• Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by catastrophic injury. 

• Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support. 

• Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery. 

• Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 

• Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports. 

• Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support. 

• Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy. 

• Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff. 

• Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate. 

• Support the roll out of our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region. 

• Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed. 

• Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise. 

• Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. 

• Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and NHS Trust specific training.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager 

Location: In Service based in Croydon, CR0 1EB. You will be required to work across multiple services within the area. 

Salary: £30,200

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday, working across a rota which will include day and night shifts as we provide a 24 hour service.  

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will provide support and supervision sessions at night, and general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles. You will further ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements to the residents. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. You will work closely with the day teams to ensure a smooth handover from the day to night. 

This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals. 

The role includes:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed
• Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management
• Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

• Experience of working with people who have enduring mental health and complex backgrounds

• Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve service KPI's through direct leadership
• Ability to provide advice, support and guidance to a team on all aspects of the service such as resident related enquiries which can include housing, mental health support, signposting

Key Responsibilities:

• Campaign Development: Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns that promote the charity’s mission, events, and fundraising activities across digital and traditional platforms.
• Brand Awareness: Increase the visibility and awareness of the charity through targeted marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and public relations.
• Content Creation: Produce compelling content (e.g., newsletters, social media updates, website pages, impact reports, press releases) that resonates with our target audiences and promotes the charity’s work.
• Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Income Generation team to create marketing materials and campaigns that support donor acquisition and retention.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using data to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
• Collaboration: Work cross-departmentally with other teams within the charity to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the organisation’s goals.
• Event Promotion: Support the promotion and marketing of fundraising events and initiatives to increase participation and visibility.
• Community Building: Engage with the charity’s supporters, volunteers, and partners, creating a sense of community and encouraging long-term relationships.

We are recruiting for four additional Regional  Fundraising Managers to join the Regional Engagement Team here at the Alzheimer’s Society.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. This is a real opportunity for you to make your mark on the sub region.

From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you will lead is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. This is where you come in - we need somebody who can harness this passion, help us to maximise on the opportunities that our unique locations give us, and ultimately grow income so we can be there for everybody affected by dementia.
The role will work closely with the Senior Regional Fundraising Manager and other Regional Fundraising Managers in the region to plan, execute and deliver our core community income and expenditure budget, ensuring that no opportunity is left unturned.

This is a homeworking role (hybrid options may be available depending on location). You will need to be based in and able to travel across your sub region (Essex, Herts & Bedfordshire, Berks, Bucks & Oxfordshire) to meet supporters and attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). You must reside in the UK and have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK.

About you 

We are looking for somebody with strong experience of community, corporate or relationship fundraising who has a track record in managing a team, alongside winning new business and providing strong high-level stewardship.

- You will be a confident communicator who can influence and negotiate at a high level and views feedback as an essential tool for development
- You will have previous financial experience in managing budgets and forecasting for income and expenditure
- You will understand the strengths and challenges of managing a geographically dispersed team
- You will have a strong local knowledge of the area and, using organisational data, will use this to inform plans and decisions

KEY INFORMATION

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £30,645-£33,735 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol. £33,229-£36,310 if based in London. These pay bandings will be reviewed against inflation trends and market averages in August 2025. All roles also receive a £312 yearly tax-free work-from-home allowance.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a thoughtful, motivated Junior Product Manager to join the Product Team at upReach.

In this role, you’ll help improve the digital tools we use to support thousands of students from underrepresented backgrounds to access top careers. Working closely with developers, colleagues from the Product Team, and our users themselves, you’ll support the development of products that make a real difference - every day.

You don’t need to have worked in product management before. If you’re excited about using technology to make things better, and you enjoy solving problems and collaborating with others, we’d love to hear from you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll contribute to the development of one of our key products, supporting its continuous improvement from idea to launch and beyond.

This will include:

• Understanding our users' needs by gathering feedback and doing user research

• Writing clear, simple documentation like feature descriptions and user stories

• Testing new features and checking that they meet the goals we’ve set

• Working with developers to bring ideas to life and resolve bugs or issues

• Helping to design better user experiences with visual mockups or process flows

• Keeping things organised, including maintaining a product backlog and roadmap
