About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding, the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead is responsible for strategic leadership in developing and nurturing institutional funding partnerships (Government, Multi-lateral, Trusts & Foundations, 
Corporates) at the global level, to create and manage compelling pipelines to mobilise income and resources for Christian Aid's programming worldwide. 

The post-holder will champion collaboration, innovation, and inclusion, ensuring Christian Aid’s engagement, profile, and business development with key Government, Multilateral, Foundation, and Corporate Partnerships deliver a step-change in income generation, impact, and influence, and will foster cross-functional collaboration across Partnership and Impact units while empowering others to lead change through co-creation.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead will include:

• Inspire and motivate a high-performing team of multiple units through donor specialist managers and programme design advisor to deliver strategic impact and income goals and targets.
• Develop long-term global income generation strategies aligned with Christian Aid’s values and goals.
• Actively contribute to the Partnership and Impact Funding (PIF) Division management team, sharing ideas and insights to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge, deputising for the Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding when required.

• Champion high quality funding partnerships and programme design.
• Approve global donor account engagement plans while coordinating opportunities across accounts to ensure targets are met.
• Lead direct donor engagement as part of a portfolio of relationships within the global partnerships donor strategy to achieve outstanding results.
• Build a wide network of contacts and funding relationships with donors, peers, consortia partners and implementing agencies.
• Oversee global pipeline mechanisms, including Go/No-Go, Global level bidding for grants and supplier contracts to align with organisational priorities.
• Lead cross-organisational project teams in programme design and development for major grant and contracting opportunities to ensure consistent and coherent messaging.

About you

Essential:

• Proven track record in directly securing multi-million-pound contracts or grants from institutional, trusts and foundations, and corporate donors.
• Substantial experience in building and cultivating strategic donor partnerships including engagement at global, regional and country mission levels with senior stakeholders and demonstrable experience of engaging.
• Extensive management experience overseeing high-performing teams directly and remotely.
• Extensive experience of leading multiple bid teams to successful outcomes.
• Advanced negotiation skills at senior levels within HQ’s, regional offices, or missions.

The role:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of user behaviour across Christian Aid’s digital platforms using a range of analytics tools. Structure, extract, and interpret data to generate insights that inform and improve the overall digital experience.
• Develop and present data-driven hypotheses to evaluate and optimise campaign performance. Provide clear feedback and actionable recommendations to support ongoing digital enhancements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in digital analytics, delivering detailed campaign performance reports and actionable insights. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build consensus and drive data-informed decision-making.
• Utilise digital reporting dashboards such as Power BI and Looker Studio to effectively communicate key digital KPIs, enabling informed, strategic decisions across the organisation.
• Perform user experience analysis through usability testing and analytics tools to identify opportunities for improvement on the Christian Aid website, ensuring an optimised and impactful user journey.
• Design and implement robust A/B and multivariate testing strategies. Ensure thorough documentation, analysis, and dissemination of testing outcomes to promote a culture of learning, iteration, and continuous improvement

About you:

• Demonstrated expertise in digital analysis and insights, with a strong track record of producing data-driven reports and actionable recommendations across platforms such as Google Analytics 4, email marketing, social media, and META.
• Proven ability to optimise marketing, fundraising, and conversion strategies through comprehensive performance analysis.
• Highly proficient in statistical analysis techniques, including:
  • Descriptive and comparative statistics
  • A/B testing
  • Data modelling to identify trends and support performance improvement
• Advanced knowledge of digital performance tools and frameworks, including:
  • Google Analytics 4 (funnel analysis, segmentation, e-commerce tracking)
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Hotjar or ContentSquare
  • Power BI
  • Looker Studio
• Skilled in defining and managing tracking requirements, implementing tag management solutions, and integrating digital data with CRM systems.

Our vision is to reach every seriously ill child, and their families, across the UK by 2035, delivering diverse and impactful projects in hospitals, hospices and community settings.

This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of public fundraising and engagement activities, building new and existing relationships with community, individual and business supporters. You will be the first point of contact for the charity, providing exceptional administration and an outstanding supporter experience. You will also proactively secure new support, and be involved in wider campaigns and events, to help the charity significantly grow income year on year.

We are looking for a proactive individual to join our small team. Someone with an eye for detail in data and administration. You will be ambitious and entrepreneurial, with real vision and a passion for the cause. You will be resilient and collaborative, someone who is highly organised with the ability to juggle a diverse and high workload. We are looking for someone who prides themselves on delivering exceptional stewardship to build new and long-lasting relationship with supporters, whilst also continuously seeking new opportunities to grow income.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement

• Build rich relationships through exceptional and inspirational stewardship to increase retention, average gift and supporter experience.
• Organise acquisition/engagement events and campaigns (online and in-person), showcasing our projects and creating a deeper connection with the charity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact to the public, responding promptly to all enquiries, providing information, advice and support.
• Identify fundraising stories to enhance marketing/communications activity.

Fundraising

• Proactively secure new support from businesses, individuals and community groups using a planned process of cultivation, conversion and stewardship - including: 1. Businesses: charity of the year, staff fundraising, sponsorship. 2. Community: individual fundraising, schools, groups, official charity for third party events. 3. Individuals: one-off/appeals, regular giving, in-memoriam/celebration and legacies
• Create engaging fundraising campaigns that increase profile, secure new support and increase income.
• Proactively identify opportunities for retaining, growing or diversifying income from existing supporters.
• Actively network to raise the profile of the charity and identify opportunities for new support.
• Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers to support for fundraising and engagement activity.

Data/administration

• Ensure prompt and effective supporter communications, particularly when thanking donations.
• Maintain accurate, compliant data in our CRM (Donorfy), growing the database and improving data quality.
• Use data insight to prepare reports and analyse performance to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor/evaluate income and KPIs making recommendations for remedial action or growth opportunities.
• Prepare Quarterly reports for the Board, and upon request.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and the Fundraising Code of Practice.

About the role

This is a pivotal moment for Ygam. With significant policy changes underway, including the Online Safety Act, Ofcom’s Children’s Code and reforms to gambling legislation introducing a new statutory levy, we have a vital role to play in shaping this new era. As we enter the fourth year of our “Safeguarding our Digital Generation” strategy, we are seeking a visionary and collaborative Chief Executive to lead us through our next phase of growth and impact.
