A Hybrid Role

This role will work across both frontline delivery and input into the administration of the Duty system that underpins all HHPA’s work. It’s anticipated the worker’s role will be split roughly 50/50 across both elements of the work. Having a staff member working across both will give us a valuable insight into how frontline and Duty can work better together.  It is also a good opportunity for the worker to gain experience in all aspects of project delivery, which could be a valuable first step for anyone interested in project management or leadership.

The Duty work

The HHPA Duty Team makes sure the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service runs safely and smoothly. They handle bookings from partner organisations, match referrals with Peer Advocates, and organise all the practical details – like booking transport, giving travel directions, and confirming who will attend each appointment. They use a specially designed Salesforce database to keep track of appointments, update records, and measure the impact of the service. A key part of their job is running the Duty System, which checks Peer Advocates in and out of jobs so that everyone is safe and supported.

The team is also the main point of contact for partners, frontline staff, and volunteers. They answer questions, make sure referrals have all the right information, and keep everything running to schedule. They look after data security, maintain good relationships with partner agencies, and make sure volunteers and workers have what they need to do their work well. By taking care of the behind-the-scenes work, the Duty Team frees up the frontline team to focus on supporting people to attend healthcare appointments and improve their health.

The pan-London Caseworker work

We need this role to support people experiencing homelessness in Boroughs where support needs are extremely high, but where we don't have the capacity or flexibility through our other funding to meet their needs. Most of our Caseworkers are funded by individual Boroughs and can only work in that area.  This role will be able to work in any of the Boroughs where we deliver HHPA so will give us the flexibility to go to where the need is greatest rather than being fixed in a single local authority area. As a more senior role in our HHPA service, the Caseworker will use their skills and experience to focus on people in the most complex and difficult situations, including those grappling multiple connected issues around physical and mental health, addiction, trauma, disabilities, and more.

Purpose

The Case Manager will strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified as high risk at MARAC to pro- actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and link to complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with existing agencies in each pilot site to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. The Case Manager will be responsible over the long term for delivering outcomes, to achieve behaviour change with each service user.

Responsibilities
Interagency work

• Work to embed the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area.
• Effective understanding and implementation of institutional advocacy by pro- socially challenging partner agencies, acknowledging best practice and striving for change to benefit the individual, the service and the sector.
• Support other professionals in responding to service users in a way that is coterminous with the aims and ethos of the Drive Project.

Case management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance and HR

• Liaise with outsourced bookkeepers (also payroll providers) to ensure timely/accurate information flow.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Single Homeless Project (SHP) in a brand new Caseworker role at the forefront of an innovative Westminster pilot service. The HMO scheme is designed to support under 35s who have experienced rough sleeping and are ready to take the next step towards independence. As a Caseworker, you will play a key part in shaping this exciting new service, working directly with clients to secure safe accommodation, build stability and open up new opportunities for the future. From assessing suitability for the HMO service and arranging property viewings, to supporting sign-ups with landlords, you will be central to each client’s journey into their new home.

Every day will bring variety and the chance to make a tangible difference. You will guide clients through maximising their income via Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, help them register with GPs and health services, and create pathways into college and employment. Alongside this, you’ll work with individuals to develop budgeting skills, explore savings and build the confidence needed to successfully move on after their twelve-month tenancy. Your work will not just provide housing but help create the tools, resilience and opportunities that can transform lives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Team and Service Support

• Act as the first point of contact for all HR queries (phone, email, in person) escalating where necessary.
• Monitor shared and team inboxes, providing administrative support to the HR team.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships across the hospice.
• Support the HR Business Partners in all areas of HR delivery including policy updates and audit process.
• Coordinate, arrange and take minutes at key meetings.

2. Recruitment and Onboarding

• Draft and publish job adverts and vacancy packs to internal and external platforms.

3. HR Systems and Administration

• Maintain accurate personnel records in line with GDPR and hospice procedures.
• Manage key compliance tasks including DBS renewals, right-to-work checks, and professional registration monitoring.
• Report on HR metrics.
• Maintain the HR Portal and rota management system.
• Process payroll changes including starters, leavers, absences, contractual changes and other miscellaneous updates.
• Produce and issue routine HR communication (maternity, leaver, probation letters).
• Manage employee benefits and general employee administration queries.
• Track and support performance review and probation processes.
• Support managers with absence management administration, escalating complex matters to the HR Business Partners.
