The Centre for Progressive Change is looking for a full-time Operations Director that will be part of the newly formed Executive Team. This role will be responsible for running the operations of the organisation with a focus on our people, systems and processes. This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of public fundraising and engagement activities, building new and existing relationships with community, individual and business supporters. You will be the first point of contact for the charity, providing exceptional administration and an outstanding supporter experience. You will also proactively secure new support, and be involved in wider campaigns and events, to help the charity significantly grow income year on year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement

• Build rich relationships through exceptional and inspirational stewardship to increase retention, average gift and supporter experience.
• Organise acquisition/engagement events and campaigns (online and in-person), showcasing our projects and creating a deeper connection with the charity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact to the public, responding promptly to all enquiries, providing information, advice and support.
• Identify fundraising stories to enhance marketing/communications activity.

Fundraising

• Proactively secure new support from businesses, individuals and community groups using a planned process of cultivation, conversion and stewardship - including: 1. Businesses: charity of the year, staff fundraising, sponsorship. 2. Community: individual fundraising, schools, groups, official charity for third party events. 3. Individuals: one-off/appeals, regular giving, in-memoriam/celebration and legacies
• Create engaging fundraising campaigns that increase profile, secure new support and increase income.
• Proactively identify opportunities for retaining, growing or diversifying income from existing supporters.
• Actively network to raise the profile of the charity and identify opportunities for new support.
• Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers to support for fundraising and engagement activity.

Data/administration

• Ensure prompt and effective supporter communications, particularly when thanking donations.
• Maintain accurate, compliant data in our CRM (Donorfy), growing the database and improving data quality.
• Use data insight to prepare reports and analyse performance to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor/evaluate income and KPIs making recommendations for remedial action or growth opportunities.
• Prepare Quarterly reports for the Board, and upon request.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and the Fundraising Code of Practice.

The role involves working in close partnership with the Area Manager to ensure the effective running, development, and strategic delivery of Hestia's Redbridge Crisis Alternative Service. It requires effective leadership in managing staff and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, performance management, and disciplinary procedures when necessary. The postholder will also provide support to students and volunteers, and work with the Senior Management Team and external stakeholders such as NELFT NHS to strengthen strategic partnerships. They will promote co-production by fostering reciprocal relationships between staff and service users, encouraging collaboration rather than dependency. The role requires demonstrable experience in managing services for people with mental health and complex needs, alongside expertise in staff recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, and handling disciplinary or grievance matters. Strong experience in performance monitoring and maintaining consistently high service user standards is essential. The postholder must also be capable of managing complex budgets, promoting the organisation externally, delivering presentations, and producing marketing material when needed.

In addition, the role demands an excellent understanding of mental health crisis management, community care, health and safety, welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform), and working in partnership with statutory services. Candidates should have proven skills in assessing, implementing, and reviewing support plans, as well as strong IT proficiency, including MS Office and case management systems, to produce accurate reports and audit staff performance. Strong written and spoken English, the ability to interpret complex reports, and sound knowledge of safeguarding practices are also critical for success.

What is the overall purpose of the role?

We are looking to appoint a Support Youth Worker to help develop and deliver an innovative and progressive youth programme for our Girls Project, in a safe industrious and supportive environment working primarily with young girls from diverse communities.

The Girls only group (targeting ages 11-19 years) will promote life skills, well-being and female empowerment. Helping girls move forward through the next stage of their lives to become the women who will shape their community in the future. What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior Supporter Journeys Executive to help us shape how our supporters experience our charity. Working at the heart of the Individual Giving team, you’ll design and deliver engaging, insight-led journeys that build loyalty, reduce attrition, and encourage long-term support.

This is an exciting time for the charity as we're delivering a new 3-year fundraising strategy with a particular focus on loyalty. In this newly created role, you'll play a key part in making sure every touchpoint, from the first welcome to ongoing engagement, feels personal, timely, and meaningful.

You'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-channel journeys for both new and existing supporters, coordinating the creation of journeys from various channels to help increase conversion. You’ll also support the design and rollout of journeys for key segments, including legacy enquirers and tribute fund donors.

Working with our data and insight colleagues, you’ll monitor journey performance using key metrics like retention and lifetime value. You'll use our CRM and Email Service Provider to identify opportunities, track activity, and coordinate testing of messaging and value propositions to maximise engagement.

As a key collaborator, you’ll work with colleagues across the organisation and with external agencies to ensure our supporter journeys are joined up and focused on the individual.  

What we want from you

This role is a great fit for someone with experience in Individual Giving, donor stewardship, or similar supporter experience roles. You'll have a strong understanding of what drives loyalty and retention, and a clear grasp of donor lifetime value.

Your project coordination skills will be essential as you manage multiple priorities across teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient delivery. We need someone who’s comfortable working with data and insight to inform decisions, using CRMs (ideally Raiser’s Edge) and email platforms like Adestra to improve supporter journeys and campaign performance. You'll also have a good working knowledge of direct marketing concepts and multi-channel delivery, including mail, email, and digital.

We're looking for an independent thinker who can not only manage projects but also proactively identify and develop new opportunities from their own observations. • Collaborate with the Senior Digital Content Editor to implement the digital content strategy across Christian Aid’s digital channels—including social media—to maximise reach, engagement, and income.

• Define and brief content requirements that support SEO and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) efforts, enabling data-informed and impactful decisions.

About you:

• Advanced expertise in technical SEO, including:

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities 

We build demand and interest in evidence across the Children’s Services sector 

This will include: 

• Running events, speaking at conferences and curating webinars to bring evidence to life for practitioners 
• We have great relationships with the people who can make change happen.  

This will include:

• Developing great relationships with senior policy makers, sector leaders and experts, including representing YEF in external meetings and speaking at events.
• Managing a Strategic Advisory Board of leading experts across the children’s services sector and keep members onside and excited about our work.

We deliver our children’s services system recommendations. 

This will include:

• Helping to identify the right recommendations at a system level (such as changes in policy, regulation, inspection, funding, or guidance) that make it more likely highly vulnerable children get access to the right support at the right time. 
• Work out the best way to make our system recommendations happen (due for publication in December 2026) and then do it – persuading the key people to make changes that make a difference.
• Tracking progress carefully, being thoughtful and creative about when and how to change the plan.

We work out the most effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then make those things happen. 

This will include:

• Helping children’s services leaders change how they plan or provide services to better protect children from violence, based on the YEF Children’s Services Practice Guidance – due for publication in May 2026. 
• Creating a plan to get people to follow our guidance, using what we know about how they think and behave. 
• Creating practical tools and resources that help leaders put evidence into action 
• Continuously testing and improving our approach to get better results.

About You

• You build trust and connect with people. From government ministers to social workers, CEOs to 15-year-olds – you know how to listen, build rapport, and make people feel heard. You’ve led meetings, made strong introductions, and bring people with you. 

• You think big and adapt fast. You’re a strategic thinker who can see the big picture without losing sight of the detail. You’re logical, creative, and open to challenge – always testing and refining your ideas.  

• You understand young people. You get what life can be like for vulnerable young people and you understand the systems and organisations around them. Ideally, you’ve seen this first-hand, whether professionally or personally. 

• You’re committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Not just in theory – but in how you work, who you listen to, and what you prioritise. 

You must have this sort of experience. 

• Delivering concrete change in practice or systems that improved children’s lives. You have significant experience in leading behaviour, practice or policy changes within a children’s services setting. You can show how these have been effective in delivering tangible change.  
• Leadership experience in the children’s services system. You’ve worked at a senior level in or with children’s services - especially local authority children's services, commissioning and/or children's social care policy, and you understand how to navigate and influence within these complex systems.

• Firsthand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

We are looking for a Sports Development Manager (Clubs and Performance) to lead a high performing team, delivering support for our TeamUCL clubs and performance sport programmes. 

The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office). The role necessitates travel to our UCL East Campus and meetings/events on campus and across London. We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible, and job share basis wherever possible.
