Volunteering at Muscular Dystrophy UK plays a vital role in driving forward the charity’s mission to support individuals and families affected by muscle-wasting conditions. Volunteers are at the heart of MDUK’s work, contributing their time, skills, and passion to raise awareness, fundraise, and deliver community-based support. Supporting and empowering volunteers is essential not only to enhance their experience and wellbeing but also to strengthen the charity’s impact across the UK. By fostering inclusive, meaningful, and well-structured volunteering opportunities, the Volunteering and Support Group Officer will help ensure that every volunteer feels valued and equipped to make a real difference in the lives of the community that MDUK supports.
In this role you’ll work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to ensure that volunteers across the organisation are recruited, trained and managed effectively, so our volunteers feel supported in their roles, and get the most they can from their volunteering.
You’ll additionally support the organisation of in person and online activities which provide a supportive, welcoming space for people affected by muscle-wasting and weakening conditions to meet with others – both in their local area and online across the UK. You’ll provide support to the volunteers who chair and coordinate these events, ensuring throughout that meetings and events meet the needs of our community.

What is the overall purpose of the role?
At Youth Action Alliance (YAA), our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.
We are ambitious to grow, to continue supporting more young people and influence positive change. To do this we are looking to appoint a Business Support Officer to provide a range of financial support duties and administer the organisation’s general ledger and finance system.
This post will provide high-quality support to the overall operations of the organisation and the team, to ensure the smooth running of the main sites and enable YAA to meet and deliver on its core objectives and obligations.

The Operations Manager is a senior leadership role with Home-Start Wandsworth, responsible for overseeing the operational effectiveness of the organisation. AFRIL’s Casework and Advocacy Service is a busy, professional team of 4 caseworkers (3 FTE) , a Community Activities Coordinator, and a number of volunteers. The team has grown significantly in the last 3 years, in response to the needs of our community and due to recognition of AFRIL’s high quality and relevant casework provision. The Casework and Advocacy Service provides AQS accredited complex casework and advice in the areas of Asylum Support, Housing, Benefits and Community Care. The service works to fill the gap, focusing on supporting those with complex vulnerabilities requiring wrap around support. AFRIL takes its services to where clients are; holding regular casework drop-in’s at asylum support hotels, community centres and at Lewisham Foodbank. AFRIL is also recently accredited by the Immigration Advice Authority to provide advice at Level 1, in both Immigration and Asylum and is currently in the process of becoming accredited at Level 2.
AFRIL’s Casework and Advocacy service uses casework trends and data to work with community members in order to engage in policy and systemic change. Utilising casework and community co-production, the service has created sector wide resources on asylum support, engaged in strategic litigation and successfully influenced local, pan-London and national policy outcomes. This is a growing area of work for the service and the successful Casework Manager will be required to balance high quality casework outputs and management of a team, while working closely with the Executive Director on emerging policy and advocacy work.

Role summary and purpose
This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio. There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the General Manager, to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

Research and process management

Fundraising

Reporting
