The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to use and develop your communications skills to help amplify the work of WFN and conservation leaders. COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT - JOB DESCRIPTION

REPORTING TO HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS

 DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

WFN’s communications amplify the work of Whitley Award winners, raise the profile of the charity, bolster fundraising efforts, and contribute to global conservation conversations, positioning WFN as a leader within the sector.

• Monitor, and create and schedule content for WFN’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn accounts, helping to grow engagement and channel performance, driving traffic to WFN’s website, and sharing charity, winner, and sector news – in line with WFN’s communications strategy and with oversight from the Head of Communications (HoC)
• Lead management of WFN’s photo library and footage archive (Google photos): naming, categorising, and uploading winner and event photos
• Support delivery of social media campaigns during the lead up to events to drive engagement and/or donations, and supporting with posting content throughout the event period
• Help produce video content
• Support production and distribution of our regular e-letter (through MailChimp)
• Work with the HoC on WFN’s website to regularly review and update content
• Draft copy for website news stories and any additional copywriting as needed throughout the year
• Assist the HoC with monthly reporting on the website, social media platforms, newsletter and media coverage
• Support digital event communications including creation of e-letters, e-invitations, website pages, email signatures and visual assets.

 PR

WFN shares impactful stories that resonate with supporters and demonstrate we can make a difference. Throughout the year, we actively work to secure PR coverage for Whitley Award winners. Increased visibility helps winners to attract further funding, gain new connections, and increase political clout – all tools which strengthen conservation work.

• Produce reactive social media to share PR coverage secured by the HoM
• Create and distribute toolkits for press and partners to bolster media campaigns
• Collate charity and winner press coverage, including website news pages, throughout the year
• Support the Head of Media (HoM) and HoC in responding to press enquiries and supplying materials.

 EVENTS

Whitley Awards Ceremony

The Whitley Awards are the result of an international search to find, fund, train and put a spotlight on outstanding grassroots leaders and their conservation projects. Finalists are invited to London for a week of training and events, culminating with the Whitley Awards Ceremony, where winners receive their Awards from WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal in front of 400 guests and many more tuning in via our livestream.

The Communications Assistant will assist the team in planning and delivery of events during the Whitley Awards Ceremony week, including the Friends Reception, Ceremony and NGO Reception, particularly in the following areas: 

Communications

• Assist with supplier liaison across event filming, livestream, and photography
• Help create event visuals and on-screen graphics
• Support with creation of the Ceremony invitations and booklet
• Support with sourcing additional material for the Whitley Award films as needed
• Support the HoC with creation and uploading of content to the website and across social media platforms, including press releases, photographs, news stories, winner pages, and films.

Other WFN Events

Throughout the year WFN holds other fundraising and engagement events ranging from intimate dinners with supporters, winner talks, events as part of our Next Gen programme and major initiatives such as Biodiversity Summits which will require the CA’s assistance.

• Assist with the production of pre-event communications and marketing materials, including invitations, e-letters, social media content, and advertisements
• Assist with setting up and managing platforms such as Eventbrite as needed
• Assist with production of event materials (signage, banners, programmes, displays, slides)
• Assist with communications-related supplier liaison eg. Photography, filming, livestreaming etc.

 GENERAL DUTIES

The ITF is looking for an experienced administrative leader to head our Maritime Administration team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of support across our global maritime work.

About the Role

The Head of Maritime Administration will lead the London-based team responsible for providing reliable, high-quality administrative support to the ITF’s maritime sections, department and affiliates. The role combines strategic oversight with practical, day-to-day management to ensure teams have the systems, structures and information they need to deliver their workplans.

You will oversee administrative processes, maintain constructive relationships with affiliates and social partners, manage venue and service contracts, and support accurate and timely budget administration. Working closely with the Maritime Coordinator, senior leaders and regional colleagues, you will help strengthen long-term administrative systems that are efficient, coordinated and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the Maritime Administration workplan and contribute to wider ITF priorities, campaigns and budgeting.
• Act as a key point of contact for affiliates, external organisations and agencies, ensuring clear and responsive communication.
• Support budget holders by preparing accurate financial information and participating in management account meetings.
• Work collaboratively with other ITF administrative teams to maintain consistent, high-quality service across the organisation.
• Resolve administrative challenges promptly, in consultation with the Maritime Coordinator.
• Prepare and coordinate documents for internal meetings, campaigns and governance bodies.

About You

You are an experienced administrative professional with a strong track record of leading teams and improving systems. You bring sound judgement, a solutions-focused approach and the ability to support people in a complex, fast-moving environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Significant experience managing administrative teams, with an inclusive and supportive leadership style.
• Strong knowledge of administrative practices, and experience applying them in complex organisations.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Translations Editor (French) to join our Communication for Development team. This role ensures the quality and delivery of Tearfund's French translations for audiences primarily in Francophone Africa.

You will manage translation workflows for a wide range of content—from publications and training materials to digital and multimedia resources—working with a network of freelance translators and proofreaders. You will also contribute to strengthening Tearfund's translation standards and digital processes, including the use of our translation software management and AI tools.

About you - You will bring:

• Native-level proficiency in French and strong command of English (spoken and written)
• Proven experience in translation and/or proofreading between English and French, ideally using CAT tools
• Experience managing translation projects and working with freelancers
• Deep understanding of Francophone African linguistic and cultural contexts
• Excellent attention to detail and strong editorial skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines

This is an exciting time to join CMF as we head into our new strategic plan. This role will suit someone able to work two days per week and has bookkeeping skills and experience. This role may suit someone training for a finance-related qualification at the same time.

Our bookkeeper will work with our accountant to help with regular bookkeeping tasks like account reconciliation, filing digital financial paperwork, and processing payments.

The successful candidate will also support the wider staff team with their financial queries and assist with our membership database and direct debit scheme. This is a valuable opportunity within a friendly team to contribute to the effective management of our finances.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.

About Exams
The Examinations Department at the Royal College of Pathologists is responsible for the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of all College examinations, including the Fellowship (FRCPath), Diploma, Certificate, and BMS examinations, as well as the Fellowship by Published Works.
Our dedicated team manages every stage of the examination process - from question setting and quality control to candidate communication, examiner support, and regulatory compliance. Working collaboratively, we ensure that all examinations are delivered efficiently, securely, and to the highest standard of integrity.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to fairness, transparency, and excellent service for both candidates and examiners. By upholding these values, the Examinations Department plays a vital role in supporting the professional development of pathologists and advancing the College’s mission to improve patient care through excellence in pathology.
The College runs two main examination sessions each year - Spring and Autumn - requiring careful planning, coordination, and attention to detail across all aspects of administration and logistics.
Due to the critical nature of the examination timetable, annual leave is restricted during examination sessions. Staff are required to be in the office throughout the exam periods and during the week when results are released.

About you
The ideal candidate is highly organised, reliable, and detail-focused, capable of confidently managing complex processes in a fast-paced, high-stakes examinations environment. They have at least one year of administrative experience and are educated to A-level standard or equivalent, with the ability to learn and follow structured procedures accurately. Experience within education, medical, regulatory, membership, or high-stakes assessment sectors is highly desirable.

Job purpose: 

• Lead and grow community fundraising activity and campaigns to support Willow’s strategic income goals
• Build and steward strong relationships with donors, fundraisers, volunteers, and community partners to increase support and awareness.
• Develop innovative fundraising initiatives with the Community and Challenge Events Manager, informed by sector insights and trends.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of Community, Challenge, and wider Fundraising Team targets and events

Key Responsibilities:

• To help lead and develop our Community Fundraising strategy and plans within agreed budgets to achieve financial non-financial targets.
• To raise awareness of our work and to inspire support through:
  • Providing outstanding stewardship to our network of supporters to maintain engagement and build loyalty. To provide a highly personalised approach to supporting Willow’s fundraisers ensuring our supporters receive a positive experience throughout their fundraising activity
  • To proactively develop relationships with various organisations within the community setting, including, schools, societies, community groups and companies.
  • To create a pipeline of activity, that helps us to reach new audiences through proactive outreach
  • To coordinate and deliver presentations to a variety of community audiences, with support from wider team and volunteers.
  • To organise and deliver a calendar of fundraising activity that creates opportunities for supporters to help Willow. Ensure participation and income targets are achieved.
  • To develop the charity’s social media fundraising activity in collaboration with the wider team.

• To ensure accurate recording of supporter information and reporting on activity through:
  • Updating the charity’s database, Raisers Edge (RE) recording all donor contact and fundraising activity.
  • Using RE as a tool to aid fundraising using data insight and reporting
  • To prepare end of campaign reports to improve results for future campaigns and capture learnings.
  • To prepare regular income reports and updates as required.
• To keep up- to- date and comply with the rules as set by the Fundraising Regulator, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and other relevant legislation and codes of practice and good practice.
