Overall Purpose of Role

This role will lead the operational team at Saint Paul’s with inspiring and effective line management to release ministry in the wider team and congregation. This is a hands on leadership role, supporting and working closely with the Senior Leaders to ensure effective operations and business continuity. Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Lead and manage Finance and Procurement, ensuring value for money, maximising financial efficiency through accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform decision making and projections related to the operational and financial functioning of Saint Paul’s.
• P&L reporting and responsibility.
• Managing and supporting the Finance Manager.
• Managing Payroll alongside Finance Manager.
• Overseeing gift days.
• Managing and monitoring team budgets ensuring compliance with financial protocols.
• Timely preparation, monitoring and communication of monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts for Finance Committee and PCC.
• Assisting in the preparation and reporting of financial accounts for HMRC, Auditors, Diocese and Charity Commission.

HR & Team

· Line Managing the Operations team including the Finance Manager, Operations Manager, LCL Manager, Receptionist and Bookings Manager and Facilities Manager.

· Ensure the overall smooth running of HR, ensuring we are using best practice and are up to date with knowledge at all times.

· Monitoring of Citrus HR to ensure all team are using the programme to its full ability.

· Governance of payroll, overtime and leave.

· Running annual appraisal processes and updating where needed.

· Being a first point of call for any HR issues that arise and advising on these.

Facilities Management

· Ensure the historic fabric of the church and associated buildings is maintained and developed in line with prescribed regulations and standards and where appropriate that the historical and heritage aspects of the buildings are appropriately profiled and made available to the community and general public. 

· Manage all operations budgets and external contract relationships in line with forecast ensuring value for money and delivery is in line with agreed project scope/specifications and high-quality service. 

· Proactively agree (and monitor) standards for buildings maintenance and adherence.

· Leading on our Carbon Net Zero journey.

· Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan reviewing to ensure risk management/mitigation.

Other

· Strategic management of the Saint Paul’s Centre and all business related to it, ensuring we meet our targets and ensuring good working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business from large clients.

· Oversight of the café, helping to improve our offerings and ensure management of the team and operational effectiveness.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

You will be flexible and able to work dynamically to respond to needs as they arise, whilst keeping a strategic eye on upcoming opportunities and challenges. You will bring strength to the day-to-day running of St Paul’s, as well as be planning for the short-term and long-term future health of the team and church.

· 5+ years experience in operations management, with a proven track record of line management.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. You have a key leadership role in overseeing the overall health of the Fund in partnership with the Executive Director. As Deputy Head of Philanthropy you will be tasked with considering the opportunities presented by the new 15 year organisational strategy, and contributing to the wider Philanthropy, Partnerships and Events team plans to ensure they have a strong footing as they look to the long term and next 15 years of London's Air Ambulance Charity. 

As Deputy Head of Philanthropy you will not only lead on strategy development but also build and develop the Trusts pipeline, leading and developing the Trusts and Prospect Research teams to improve internal processes and influence/respond to upcoming fundraising opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Trusts and Prospect Research teams and programmes through a year of maternity cover, ensuring both areas are in a strong position on the return of the substantive postholder. 
• Act as LAAC's Trust and Lead Gift (£500k+) fundraising expert, leading the Trusts and Prospect Research teams to be ambitious and consider the long term funding opportunities for the charity. 
• Lead the team through the transition from the Up Against Time Appeal to focus on the new 15 year organisational strategy and opportunities it presents to develop the pipeline for new projects.
• Take ownership of the Trusts, Foundations and Statutory pipeline, leading income generation from these sources with a personal focus on £100k+ opportunities, while informing the organisation's approach to restricted fundraising opportunities.

You’ll be creating high quality, engaging content about our life-changing research, campaigning, fundraising, services and health information. And you’ll be part of the multimedia team, where we produce video, photography, motion design and audio that help strengthen our brand and tell our story.

Reporting to the senior multimedia manager, you’ll be producing motion design projects that cover all aspects of the organisation. This includes producing multiple small and large-scale motion projects throughout the year to support major campaigns and projects. Experience of producing long and short-form content with an eye towards social trends is also desirable.

The role may require some work on larger video and photography projects throughout the year to support the wider team, so any skills in video production, video editing or photography would be an advantage.

About you

You’ll have a keen interest in all things motion design and have a good portfolio of work to show this. You’ll be hard-working and highly motivated, with a flexible approach to your work. And you’ll be used to working in a busy team environment and able to work on your own initiative.

Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll be working with teams across the charity, supporters and people affected by breast cancer. 

You must have considerable experience using adobe creative suite, particularly after effects, illustrator, photoshop and premiere. Any knowledge of blender or other 3D software would also be welcome.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

Who we are.

Unitas is a unique and vibrant youth centre with state-of-the-art facilities. It is at the heart of the Barnet community.

“Unitas” was named by local young people, and opened in summer 2019 as the second OnSide Youth Zone in London.

At Unitas, they believe that all young people in Barnet should have the opportunity to discover their passion and their purpose, to find out what they’ve got and where it could take them. The Youth Zone is a purpose-built space fizzing with energy and crammed with incredible facilities. It is staffed by skilled and dedicated youth workers who truly believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidence and ambition to achieve their potential.

Since opening they have delivered life-changing support to help over 12,000 young people aged 8-19 (and up to 25 for young people with additional needs) from a diverse range of backgrounds to thrive.

The role.

This is an exciting role that sits on the senior leadership team with a significant amount of autonomy for an outstanding fundraiser and leader who is interested in further developing a fundraising function to eventually deliver c.£1.8m fundraising income per annum.

They are at a crucial stage in the evolution of their fundraising. Opened in 2019, our Youth Zone is founded on the OnSide funding model whereby the first four years of revenue is made possible primarily by major donors – Founder Patrons – who each committed a minimum of £25k pa for four years.

Now as they enter year five, they seek the continuation of this support and are in the initial stages of diversifying their income sources. They have also secured significant ringfenced funding to expand the fundraising team, and the incoming Director of Fundraising will have significant scope to shape the team around their vision and strategy. Successful achievement of goals and a sound strategy will allow for further growth in future years in order to sustain, diversify and enhance income.

Who we are looking for.

We are searching for exceptional relationship fundraisers who excel when driving their own portfolio of high-value support and leading by example.

This is a strategic and hands-on role so we are looking for candidates who will relish working cross-organisationally on the SLT as well as coaching and supporting the team to deliver success.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

The Lead Instructor Role:

We’re looking for someone to join our team who is just as passionate as we are about getting young people outdoors to have an adventure as we are. You will have great leadership potential, be organised and able to organise others, and have plenty of instructing experience with a range of groups and activities. You’ll want to learn and be prepared to put in the work to and effort needed to develop as a practitioner and a manager.

Key responsibilities as our Lead Instructor:

• Coaching, mentoring and pastoral supervision of the instructing team
• Maintaining accurate records of staff training, assessment and competency, equipment and activity facilities, operating procedures and risk assessments
• Assisting with the creation of group programmes and staff timetables
• Ensuring relevant checks, processes and paperwork are maintained to meet external and internal accreditation standards - including management of equipment and PPE
• Delivering adventurous activity, and training to internal and external clients
• Monitoring the safety and quality of activity sessions
• Working as a Duty Manager being the first point of contact for the daily operation of the centre on a rota basis; including managing the site team and any service crews, providing an ‘on call’ service during out of hours times for guests on centre, and support with first aid and safeguarding
• Assisting other staff, including taking bookings, checking in/out groups and liaising with guests
• As a youth focused organisation, applicants agree to comply at all times with the safeguarding rules including vetting and Basic/Enhanced DBS checks

What we are looking for in our Lead Instructor:

• Competent IT skills especially in office applications
• The ability to supervise staff including appropriate delegation, encouraging personal development and managing performance
• Experience working with High Ropes and Target Sports sessions and equipment
• Experience working in an outdoor education or activity centre – working with a wide range of groups and activities
• Experience in leading, mentoring and supporting others
• Understanding of The Scout and how we work
