The role
As Partner Engagement Manager you will promote the work of Family Fund and maintain a positive profile within the disability sector in Northern Ireland and with key Government/political stakeholders.
You will undertake a range of public affairs and policy activities that help sustain and grow our government funding and that secure positive outcomes for disabled children and their families. You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.
You will also identify growth/income opportunities and feed through to relevant internal teams, providing follow up support, as required.

- Ensuring that Family Fund’s profile remains high amongst key organisations.
- Engaging with Ministers and MLAs to building awareness and support for Family Fund’s work.
- Family Fund’s key point of contact for all partners and stakeholders in Northern Ireland.
- Engaging in sector working groups and consortia to help secure improved support for families raising disabled children.
- Inputting to government policy development via consultations and direct work with government departments.
- Promoting the support offered by Family Fund to support demand generation, including targeted work in relation to our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion objectives.
- Supporting our Fundraising Team in identifying and securing funding opportunities that allow Family Fund to provide improved grants/information and support services to families.

For this role you will need to have experience of presenting to external stakeholders and representing an organisation in a professional capacity. Ideally you will have some knowledge/experience of public affairs or policy development work.
To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated and be able to engage positively with different teams. You must be flexible, adaptable and resilient to work demands and change. This post is home based with regular travel.

It is anticipated that the role will be varied and flexible, but will include:

Key responsibilities
1. Supporting CAP's Council of Management in its governance function

Accountability and relationships
The Chief Executive is accountable to the elected Council of Management. Regular contact is maintained with the Officers Group, and in particular the Chair.
The Chief Executive provides line management to the other members of the Senior Leadership and Management Team, and works closely with other members of the CAP staff team, and external partners.
Other details about employment
Duration: Permanent contract with six month probationary period.
Hours: 35 hours per week including occasional 'unsocial' hours, weekend working and overnight travelling for which Time Off in Lieu is provided.
Salary: Church Action on Poverty Salary Band L, starting at scale point 43 on the NJC scales (currently £52,805 pay award pending). Rising by increments after 3 years and every 2 years thereafter to point 46 (currently £56,073), paid monthly on the 14th day of each month.
Pension: Church Action on Poverty operates the Nest auto-enrolment pension scheme, and contributes a 10% employer contribution provided the staff member commits to making a 5% employee contribution.

The International Organization for Migration in the UK (IOM UK) delivers a range of programming to support migrants, both in the UK and internationally, including projects focusing on protection, modern slavery and human trafficking, diaspora engagement, migration and development, and provision of immigration advice.
This position will support IOM’s work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, in coordination with the Programme Coordinator, and the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission of IOM UK. Responsabilities:
- Support the implementation of an IOM project which is improving the capacities of UK support providers who assist survivors of modern slavery with voluntary return or repatriation to their countries of origin.
- Assist with the implementation of the operational activities of the relevant projects, including the organisation of project events, project research, implementation of communications activities, and outreach to project stakeholders including government counterparts, diaspora, private sector, civil society and the UN.
- Assist with the timely preparation and submission of all project donor reports (both narrative and financial).

About the Role
Donkey Welfare Advisers are professionals in the field of donkey and mule welfare. They play a key front line role in the work of the sanctuary: responding to donkeys in need, supporting donkeys in the community, growing and managing a high quality rehoming scheme, and acting as an ambassador for the charity at all times.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Promoting good welfare for donkeys and mules by working proactively to support, guide and educate key audiences and by sharing best practice.
- Communicating effectively with groups from all social, racial, and cultural backgrounds, often in highly emotive and sometimes confrontational circumstances.
- Delivering high quality, impactful training to a range of stakeholders in a style suitable to the audience and the resources available.

About the Role
Donkey Welfare Advisers are professionals in the field of donkey and mule welfare. They play a key front line role in the work of the sanctuary: responding to donkeys in need, supporting donkeys in the community, growing and managing a high quality rehoming scheme, and acting as an ambassador for the charity at all times.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Promoting good welfare for donkeys and mules by working proactively to support, guide and educate key audiences and by sharing best practice.
- Communicating effectively with groups from all social, racial, and cultural backgrounds, often in highly emotive and sometimes confrontational circumstances.
- Delivering high quality, impactful training to a range of stakeholders in a style suitable to the audience and the resources available.

RLS Caseworker / Solicitor
As a RLS Caseworker / Solicitor you will conduct a small strategic caseload of asylum and refugee family reunion cases and assist on litigation (where eligible) under our legal aid contract to push for better decision-making, secure results for individuals and pursue improvements in the relevant law, policy and practices.
You will also act as the supervising caseworker/lawyer for the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), which is a specialist casework project delivered by RLS with funding and pro bono assistance from 11 leading commercial law firms. As part of this role, you will supervise pro bono lawyers to provide high quality legal representation for Afghans on matters including family reunion, the ARAP scheme, the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme and others. The project is now in its 3rd year and won the Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership Award at the Law Works Pro Bono Awards in 2022 as well as being nominated and commended for numerous other awards in 2022 and 2023. Please note that RLS recognise that pro bono legal work is always an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, an adequate system of publicly funded legal services.
Key responsibilities
- Have conduct of a small strategic caseload and provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients
- Supervise the work of volunteer pro bono commercial lawyers on cases
- Deliver training to pro bono commercial lawyers
- Ensure that all legal work is promptly and accurate recorded on RLS’s case management system and keep relevant time recording

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. About the role
The Programmes Lead will play a key role in leading and implementing the delivery of a range of programmes which at present includes Growing the Top, the SEND Developmental Peer Review and the Trust Leaders’ Network (subject to change based on organisational need).

Job Description: Training and Events Officer
The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.
You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes. Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.
Duties include:
- Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members
- With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
- Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
- Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
- Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact
- Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)
- Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders
- Exploring and evaluating business and funded models for training and events to ensure an income stream
- Working with external facilitators, recruiting them as needed, to deliver training and workshops, ensuring delivery is aligned with SLA requirements and outcomes
- Managing all training and events administration, planning and logistics
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Officer and Sales and Membership Officer, to ensure effective communication and promotion of training and events, providing timely information and updates as needed
- Monitoring and evaluation of all training and events to ensure a high-quality offer, reach and impact that delivers on the SLA’s mission, applying learnings as needed
- Generating all event reports and updates as needed for internal and external use
- Contribute to relevant SLA communications including TSL, newsletters and promotional materials
All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.
To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:
· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape
· experience developing and delivering inspirational training, to small and large groups, both online and in person
· understanding of what works (and what doesn’t) for different formats and types of training and using evaluation to establish impact
· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources
· a clear understanding of the curriculum and teaching and learning outcomes
· confidence in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders
· an ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet competing deadlines
· creativity and innovation, with a solution-focused approach
· an ability to work flexibly around training and event delivery and travel across the UK as needed
An understanding of business models in relation to training will be an advantage, as will experience planning events. Building relationships with all stakeholders will be an important part of this role.
The salary for this position is £21,945.95 (FTE £29,000) for 28 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.
