The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a District Property Secretary. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. They will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property and will work in collaboration with the churches and circuits within the District, providing oversight of the properties owned by the District. The post holder will give support and assistance to a range of stakeholders on property-related matters, in the context of Methodist Church governance.

The role is full time, with one or two days per month based from our National Ministry Centre in Coventry.

The role will involve working some Sundays, when church opportunities occur.

To be suitable for this role you will need to good networking leads within a Christian context. You will enjoy getting to know people and prayerfully nurturing relationships. You will have a clear delivery and the ability to present at, lead or on occasion take a church service. In accordance with the Equality Act of 2010 and due to the nature and context of the role there is an ‘occupational requirement’ for the post holder to be an evangelical Christian. The job holder should be committed to the purpose of SPI and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for the Christian purposes of the organisation and be able to live out, hold to, support and contribute to its Christian ethos.

Salary: (UK): £36,674 plus benefits (Our pay philosophy ensures consistency across locations and salaries. The starting salary for this opportunity plus benefits depends on location of the candidate). 

The role:

Due to internal movement, Mary’s Meals International (MMI) is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our growing global finance team. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you will play a key role in our finance team, leading on the strengthening of our financial processes and controls, managing our statutory accounts and external audit process.

You will:

• Lead on the production of the Annual Accounts in line with FRS 102 (Charities SORP) and statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process throughout the year.
• Evaluate, develop and implement appropriate financial systems & processes, including liaising with suppliers/3rd party providers as required.
• Quality control the completion and recording of financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage treasury, cashflow activity, including proactive monitoring of our currency mix.  
• Provide direction, leadership and support to a small team of Finance Assistants.
• Support and challenge the financial control and financial management across MMI to ensure good stewardship of funds.  

About you:

• Strong experience in accountancy, including financial processes, controls, and annual accounts preparation.
• Proven experience of UK accountancy practices and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality, accurate financial information.
• Excellent attention to detail and advanced Excel skills.
• Proficient in using financial software packages.
• Credible people manager with experience in supervision, coaching, and support.
• Confident communicator, able to explain complex finance processes clearly.
• Practical, hands-on, with a solutions-focused approach.
• Experience of managing external service providers, including auditors.
• Culturally sensitive and able to work effectively across diverse global settings.

A relevant degree/professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. If you have fundraising experience and are keen to join a charity with ambition and an amazing supporter base, then this could be the role for you.

Please note the successful candidate will need to live within the region (Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire), have access to a car and be willing to travel around their region.
