Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Brand and Content team as our Stories Lead. This is a permeant, hybrid, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our offices in Kings Cross, London.

The Brand and Content Team nurture and develop the Sense brand, putting it at the heart of everything we do and ensuring it is consistently represented throughout every touchpoint.  We are also responsible for creating engaging and stand out content for departments across the organisation, whilst also creating content to meet our own strategic goals. 

The successful candidate will be responsibile for maintaining and growing Sense’s storyteller portfolio, made up of disabled people and their families, volunteers, supporters and staff. It will play a leading role in ensuring that the most compelling stories feature across the charity’s media, campaigns, fundraising and wider comms initiatives, to increase engagement with our brand and help make our bold plans a reality. You will overseeing the stories database, leads on identifying and interviewing storytellers, gathers content to support Sense’s content strategy, writes up storyteller experiences and translates into external facing content, and establishes a pipeline of new stories according to organisational priorities. As well as encouraging best practice, identifying opportunities, and advising on stories use across the engagement department.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Sense’s stories database and play a leading role in ensuring the most compelling stories feature across our media, campaigns, fundraising and wider comms initiatives.
• Oversee the management of storyteller relationships at Sense, making sure that their needs are met and that they understand the role of the charity, how their story can support it and the impact of doing so - ensuring they have a positive experience throughout.
• Lead on conducting sensitive interviews with contributors, writing up their stories and updating the stories database.
• When required, translate storyteller experiences into meaningful and engaging written content across core formats, including blogs, social media posts and emails.   
• Capture additional content from storytellers that aligns with Sense’s content strategy, for example photography or short video pieces to camera.
• Collaborate with teams and build strong working relationships with colleagues in the Engagement department and across Sense to agree priorities, develop briefs and deliver story leads to deadline.   
• Co-ordinate story development across the engagement department. and be the first point of contact for storytellers when multi-media assets are being collected.
• Work with operational colleagues to identify and manage story leads – developing the skills and knowledge of this group to help facilitate this process.

Key skills and experience

• Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification in media or communications related subjects.
• Strong understanding of what makes a good story to drive external engagement.
• Understanding of the core role of storytelling within the charity sector and how storytelling content enhances brand engagement.

About the Role

As our Policy Advisor –Research and Data Monitoring you will support the highest standards of research development, analysis and communication of data relating to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. 

In this role, you will lead high-level analysis and quality assurance of WASH data use as well as management research resources, include the Research and Evidence Bank, the Research Tracker and the Statistics Bank.

You’ll also: 

• Contribute to the design and commissioning of research projects to support advocacy, campaigns, media communications
• Oversea and manage small research projects – facilitating the sharing of research outputs and learnings within GPAC and across the organisation
• Work closely with GPAC colleagues and other WaterAid UK departments and ensure that information on commissioned research projects and learnings are shared widely across the WaterAid Federation (Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, UK, and USA)

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need:

Richmond CVS is an independent infrastructure organisation whose role is to "Empower, Enable and Involve” the thriving Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) across the Borough in order to deliver the Vision of:

The Sector contains over 700 organisations who are coming to terms with and adapting to the challenges of the post-COVID and “cost of living crisis” world.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Sector and be a Senior Leader with extensive experience of service delivery, people management, organisation development, finance, income generation and stakeholder engagement.

The role is based in Richmond and is accountable to the Board of Trustees.  More details are provided in the Job Description and Person Specification document and the Summary Terms and Conditions attached.

We're looking for someone who can:

1. Deliver current services efficiently, achieving high levels of performance and satisfaction against contract requirements in both quantitative and qualitative terms.

2. Lead and develop the team in a supportive and collaborative manner and build resilience into the organisation.

3.Maintain and develop effective relationships with existing funders to ensure the renewal and ideally expansion of existing contracts as well as seeking new funders to help achieve Richmond CVS’s External Income growth goals.

4. Be a visible and effective ambassador and champion for Richmond CVS within the local and wider London Voluntary Sector to promote and support the health and growth of the Sector.

5. In collaboration with the Board, develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure maximum impact.

6. Ensure strategic representation for Richmond CVS and the Voluntary Community Social Enterprise in key strategic boards and partnerships.

7. Work with the Board, Company Secretary and Treasurer to ensure effective and efficient Governance, to include:  Annual Work Plan, regular and timely reporting on contractual and project performance metrics, financial planning and reporting, risk management, policies and procedures and meeting all statutory requirements.

8.Work with the Board on the development, deployment and review of the Strategic Plan and Priorities and prepare an Annual Financial and Business Plan for approval and ongoing review by the Board. 

Person Specification

1. Demonstrate strong and effective leadership, with a proven track record in staff management.

2. Understand the Voluntary Sector and the challenges it faces.

3. Develop and implement fundraising strategies to drive new income streams.

4. Communicate and influence effectively, building relationships, networking, negotiating and managing stakeholders with diplomacy.

5. Manage complex multi-year service delivery contracts or equivalent agreements.

6. Work with the financials to support budget setting, cost management and financial reporting in collaboration with the Treasurer.

7. Apply digital skills to optimise technology use across service delivery, fundraising  and communication.

8. Operate confidently at Board level to contribute to strategy development and translate strategy into effective operational plans.

9. Demonstrate principled leadership and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, equity and inclusion.

About the role

As Regional Manager, you’ll lead a diverse team across group of up to 16 shops within our London region, inspiring them to deliver ambitious targets and exceptional standards. Reporting into the Head of Operations, you’ll be accountable for all aspects of performance across your region:

· Consistent sales growth through innovation, sales analysis, improving operational efficiencies and controlling costs – generating income to fund Mind’s vital mental health support services

· Creatively finding new ways to acquire stock donations and to recruit volunteers

· Actively looking for new shop locations including large format shops, using your knowledge of the region

· Working with local Minds to promote their services and to understand the potential of developing meaningful partnerships.

We have a great opportunity for a Fundraising Board Executive Assistant working for a wonderful medical charity. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant or Project Manager looking to proactively support the Campaign Board and fundraising campaign.

This role will be hands-on and fundamental in facilitating and helping to maximise the  campaign execution ensuring timelines are kept on track, whilst driving the operational coordination of diaries, committee meetings, and scheduling. This role will also be line managing the Campaign Reporting Officer.
