We are looking for a Grants Management Lead who will manage part of ClientEarth’s existing grants portfolio and provide strategic direction within the team and across departments to ensure successful grant management delivery and fundraising.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Jamil De Dominicis. Jamil joined ClientEarth in 2019 and is based in London. As Global Head of Grants, he leads the Grants Management team and oversees ClientEarth’s grants income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders. Prior to joining ClientEarth, Jamil worked in various policy, research and grant management roles at the international affairs think tank Chatham House and the National Foundation for Youth Music.

Main Duties

• Manage existing relationships with major foundations and other institutional funders to ensure that funders are aware of project performance and receive regular updates in compliance with grants agreements
• Oversee relationships with senior stakeholders from current and new donors; act as a key facilitator and steward of relationships between funder staff and key programme contacts
• Support on developing and executing the Grants Team Annual Plans and strategy
• Oversee the development and production of well researched and comprehensive proposals and reports to existing donors that meet funding priorities and requirements within the submission deadline, in coordination with programme staff
• Line manage their team effectively by ensuring the Managers and Officers have support and are empowered to lead on their funding portfolios

Job Title: Volunteer Manager

Location: Based in our central office in Islington (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station). You will work in a hybrid approach including regular service visits, office days, and home working. 

Salary: £37,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per requirements of the role.

About the role

This is a new role at SIG, thus a great opportunity to join our team in supporting with and managing the delivery and implementation of our National Volunteering Strategy. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping and producing a strategy which empowers leaders across the organisation to actively recruit, engage and retain volunteers within their services. You will develop and implement a volunteering strategy which is fit for use, realistic and transferrable throughout the organisation, with a structured programme which ensures a positive volunteer experience. 

• Lead the co-creation of the organisation’s National Volunteering Strategy in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Define clear goals, priorities, and success measures for volunteering across the organisation.
• Develop a clear roadmap for implementation of a volunteer strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group’s wider mission and values.
• Work collaboratively with various teams from operations, people and culture, marketing, finance, and other central teams to support the strategy.
• Design and implement a consistent volunteer recruitment, onboarding and induction process, and manage the sharing of information across the organisation.
• Create and manage volunteer hiring workflows, and ensure these are fit for purpose, and that they align with wider strategies, and system implementation.
• Consult and engage with managers on a regular basis to fully understand and identify volunteering needs across services and co-design a diverse range of volunteer roles that add value and reflect local priorities.

About you

We are looking for a proactive individual with a passion for advocating volunteering opportunities and early careers. You will be dedicated to bring new opportunities and drive meaningful change. You will have experience in volunteer management, with the understanding of what it entails, what our obligations are, and the difference between employment and volunteers. You will be driven to have the opportunity to create a process which is new to the organisation, and be self driven to learn as you go, as well as share your personal experience and expertise with others.

• Proven experience in developing or managing volunteer programmes, including recruitment, engagement and retention strategies  
• Ability to design and implement strategies, with a clear understanding of how to align volunteering initiatives with organisational needs
• In depth understanding of volunteering programmes and the knowledge, skills and ability to create role profiles for volunteers
• Ability to build local networks and relationships locally and nationally, and utilise platforms available, including new ones to share opportunities available
• Ability to think creatively to improve processes
• Proactiveness and outgoing approach to work, ability to use initiative to resolve challenges
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment

My client is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through better education. This clear goal sees them work throughout the UK and overseas, partnering schools, leading on teacher training and support as well as devising innovative new techniques and programmes.

At present they are looking for some interim support between permanent hires to their Financial Controller position. Reporting into the Director of Finance, key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the highest standards of financial controls are met across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
• Supervising a team of 2, be responsible for the processing and reporting of financial accounting data for the organisation including cash flow management and statutory returns.
• Working with finance colleagues on information required for internal and external stakeholder reporting.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified with a strong background in technical accounting. Open to candidates from all industries, you will be very comfortable with statutory accounting and Excel.

This role has been assessed as inside of IR35. With flexible office working practices, there is an estimated need for this role to be onsite in the London office 2 days a week.

We are the largest sexual violence support provider in Wales, with 30 years’ experience of delivering specialist therapeutic support to adults and children affected by the trauma of rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse.

As a charitable organisation, we offer a full range of free specialist crisis, advocacy, wellbeing and counselling services. We are widely regarded throughout the UK as a leading organisation in our field. We support nearly 4,000 people each year.

Beyond that, we use our experience and expertise to train and educate others on the wide-ranging impact of rape and sexual abuse, and use our voice to advocate for those who are often silenced by stigma.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

To provide administrative support and to ensure the efficient day to day running of the office. This post has a strong emphasis on client support and engagement.

GENERAL

MAIN TASKS AND DUTIES:

• Offer a welcoming and non-judgemental environment to all service users.
• Act as first point of contact with reception duties, including answering telephone enquiries, welcoming clients, dealing with incoming and outgoing mail etc.
• Record initial referral information from clients.
• Liaise with clients, counsellors and volunteers by telephone, Microsoft teams etc.
• Schedule client appointments.
• Co-ordinate counselling timetables.
• Maintain records, both written and computerised.
• Ensure an effective system of communication exists between clients, counsellors and volunteers.
• Word processing of letters, reports and other documents.
• Undertake relevant training, as required.
• General clerical tasks including photocopying, filing, etc.
• Complete routine health& safety checks.
• Order stationery and other supplies.
