Job Title: Health and Nature Community Connector
Location: This role is based in Luton. The service is approximately a 20 minute walk from Luton railway station, or a short bus journey with several local bus routes stopping nearby on New Bedford Road. Hybrid working with 2 days from home; the remaining days are community based, involving travel within Luton to locations such as the community garden, Synergy office, and local GP surgeries. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.
Salary: £28,700 (Full Time Equivalent)
Shift Pattern: 18 month fixed term contract, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 10.00 - 15.00. Some flexibility around these hours can be considered and discussed at interview. You may also be required to work outside hours depending on service and participant needs.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Health and Nature Community Connector to join the SIG Penrose Roots team in Luton - an award winning community wellbeing service making a real difference locally. In this role, you will support members who focus on social isolation, mental health, and connection to nature. We are seeking a proactive, organised and compassionate individual to join our community based open recovery and wellbeing service as a Health and Nature Community Connector. In this role, you will identify members needs and provide person centred, tailored support to help them overcome challenges and improve their wellbeing through nature based activities and green landscape interventions. This is a dynamic role suited to someone passionate about the power of nature in supporting recovery and community connection. You will act as a key triage, coordination and partnership lead to ensure individuals are connected to the right level of support, whether through short term engagement within the service or onward signposting to community opportunities.
You will act as the primary point of contact a referrals, oversee volunteer buddy support and collaborate with a skilled internal team delivering interventions. This community focused role suits someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships and supporting individuals to improve their wellbeing. Help us reduce social isolation, boost mental health and build stronger, more connected communities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting members who may be facing challenges with focus on social isolation, mental health, and connection to nature
- Manage and triage referrals from self referrals and partner organisations, acting as the main triage point to ensure individuals are connected to appropriate support.
- Acting as the main point of contact for referrals and coordination across GP surgeries, NHS services, council teams and community partners, liaising closely with external agencies to support smooth pathways into, within, and out of the service.
- Ensure effective service delivery, including safeguarding, risk assessments, and required checks.
- Ensure members understand their rights and can access appropriate tools, resources, and networks.
- Allocate volunteer buddies to individuals and arrange initial meet ups, including attending groups or activities to support engagement.
- Recruit, coordinate, and oversee up to 10 volunteer buddies, providing direction, light supervision, and day to day liaison.
- Empower members to build independence and take control of their lives in a safe, enabling environment.

You are organised and adaptable, able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a person centred and non judgemental approach. An interest in green and outdoor activities, alongside an understanding of local communities and services, will help you thrive in this role.

With support from the Chief Executive and an external Communication professional acting as your mentor, the Communications and Events Lead will lead on planning and delivering communications to our various audiences, including potential and existing donors (corporates, HNWIs, other charitable foundations and statutory agencies) and grant seekers as a means of raising our profile as the go-to organisation for charitable giving and philanthropy advice in the East End.
You will play a crucial role in telling the story of the Foundation and the difference our funding is making to those experiencing hardship in East London. Your work will inspire potential supporters to help us tackle inequality locally.
Being the sole member of the comms team in our fast paced charity, you will need to be an organised, pro-active team player able to respond willingly, flexibly and positively to unexpected changes or demands.
Specifically, you will identify, write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including EECF’s website, social media, newsletters and print. In consultation with the senior management team, you will plan and implement communications to raise the organisation’s profile while progressively improving our understanding of what works for our different audiences.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Communications
Support the Chief Executive with the delivery of EECF’s communications strategy, to include:
· Developing, implementing and monitoring EECF’s communications strategy
· Being responsible for copy-writing all communications including social media, web content, annual reviews, press releases, newsletters etc
· Preparing and posting quality and engaging social media content
· Growing engagement with our channels and evaluating social media and web activities as well as Google analytics to ensure we our content remains relevant
· Ensuring EECF’s website is up to date had has engaging content
· Developing relevant video content for various platforms
· Drafting case studies on both donors and grant recipients
· Producing engaging content for EECF’s Supporter and Life Chances newsletters
· Maintaining a folder of master templates and resources and ensuring branding resources are reviewed and used correctly by the wider team
· Building our storytelling resources including quality images, case studies, video etc to enable us to demonstrate the impact of our work
· Leading on reviewing our comms platforms and providers, making suggested changes, additions and/or removals where relevant
· Attending EECF programmes to capture content in liaison with the programme lead
Events
· Work in co-ordination with our Grants Administrator in planning, co-ordinating and delivering EECF events including our annual elder Tea Dance and Winter Appeal
· Support the delivery of donor volunteering sessions where appropriate, including overseeing corporate volunteers on the day
· Supporting events relating to any in-house projects or initiatives
· Assisting at donor and community events as required
Administration
· Providing ad-hoc administrative support to the team including support with donor engagement, research and solutions that improve productivity
· Contributing to the work of the EECF and play a full and active part as a member of the larger staff team

The Role

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
· To be educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or work experience in related field.

You will be a qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant with strong financial accounting experience, ideally gained within a charitable, not-for-profit, or grant-funded organisation.

Overall Purpose of the Role
Youth Action Alliance (YAA) is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven Support Youth Worker to support the delivery of two key strands of our youth offer: the Girls Project and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB).
This is a varied and rewarding role combining hands-on youth work with project support, centred on empowering young people aged 11–19 (and up to 24 where appropriate). The post holder will work directly with girls and young people from diverse communities, supporting their personal development, wellbeing, confidence, and ability to use their voice to influence positive change in their communities.

We’re building a brand-new team initial contact team which will play a central role in our new Information and Support Hub. At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts can expect to work a minimum of 40% at our office in Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week, normally on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees. The expectation to collaborate face-to-face is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy

As Director of Income Generation & Business Development you will set the strategic direction for all income related activity across the charity, ensuring LWA develops a sustainable, diversified income portfolio that is aligned with the charity’s purpose and values. - Strategically lead a multi-year income generation and business development strategy, setting key objectives and enabling diversification that aligns with LWA’s values and new organisational strategy.
- Provide strategic leadership for marketing and communications, ensuring organisational-wide narrative building that reflects the values and impact of LWA, while championing the voices of women and children.
- Ensure strategic leadership for LWA’s retail function, developing growth strategies that balance community impact alongside financial performance.

The role would best suit:
- A senior income generation leader, with broad multi-stream experience and a proven track record of strategically driving growth and diversification of fundraised income.
- A strategic leader with the ability to develop a team across income generation, marketing and communications and retail.
- An individual with experience of developing income generation strategies that intersect with organisational strategies and ambitions.
- Someone with the ability to balance income generation with ethical storytelling/responsibility, public accountability and regulatory considerations.

TACT is the UK’s largest fostering charity and has been providing loving families for vulnerable children and young people across the country for over 30 years. Our reputation and growth rests upon our strength in providing successful placements. As a charity, we do not have shareholders who receive profits - we invest all of our surplus income into service, staff, carers, and children’s development.
The successful applicants must be IT literate, as documentation is shared at online meetings on a monthly basis. The Panel meets using Microsoft Teams on the second Tuesday of each month, but occasionally additional meetings may also be scheduled, depending on business needs.

- To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
- To safeguard the confidentiality of all panel papers and panel discussions.
- To participate in panel induction and in panel training, which will be at least one day per year.
